"Well, most Custodi are bilingual, having a good grasp of both English and Greek. English, of course, used for communications with everyone from the outside, and Greek for official purposes. I would say the majority language is still Greek though. As far as religion is concerned, most Custodi, myself included, worship the Archangels, a fairly widespread religion, one that has found its way around the Houses as well. I'm sure a man of your knowledge would have heard of it before."
RE: The Character - Victor Steiner - 11-04-2017 Weber looked at the man with no small amount of surprise ''Archangels you say? That's very interesting sir. You are quite right, this religion or cult, as some call it, has indeed made its way into a few of the houses, Kusari and Gallia are the exceptions I believe. Tell me, how do the custodi honour these deities? Are they benevolent? Or are they Malevolent? You see, while we are aware of this religon, little is known about it in academic circles.'' "Some historical records show that perhaps they were more significant and respected -- or maybe even feared -- in the old days. However these days, the deities themselves are considered little more than a symbol. The sacred texts are of course studied and mentioned by most and the social and practical aspects of our religion are preserved. The spiritual ones, however, are entirely up to the individual."
RE: The Character - Victor Steiner - 11-21-2017 ''Do you adhear to this religion? or if you aren't do you feel that you are bound by the...morality or philosophy rather, that they teach?'' he asked with actual curiosity. The fact that the Corsairs even bothered to have something like an organised religion was most surprising, although he was careful not to assign to this religion the ideal of benevolence, they could be exceedingly vicious gods after all. RE: The Character - Corile - 11-21-2017
"I'm afraid I do not have a rational explanation for you here. I was raised to believe that Archangels are benevolent spirits with direct influence over the universe however I will not try to convince anyone who believes otherwise. The morality model though, the Hedron as we call it, is in my opinion universally good and the Monastery does a good job of exerting societal pressure that it be upheld."
