Imagine deleting my feedback because you disagree with it.

This still needs to be pointed out, and you really need to reel in your moderators. Starting to feel like China has less censorship than this forum.

So in regards to the above thread, am I allowed to get pirated, linger in the area around the pirates immune to them, spout off insults, and relay their location to lawfuls without any sort of consequence?

Because, nice precedent you just set.

RE: Game Masters Feedback Thread - Markam - 06-10-2019

There is nothing wrong with feedback, but do not do it in a manner that is inflammatory and breaks forum rules.

RE: Game Masters Feedback Thread - Saronsen - 06-10-2019

Yeah now where's the Moderator feedback thread? I've been saving a hot load for a while that I need to dump on the forums in the near future.

RE: Game Masters Feedback Thread - Implosion - 06-10-2019

Your feedback was deleted because you could have presented it in a more respectable and calm way. Yes, it could have been handled better by snipping out stuff, but alas. Furthermore, we work with the evidence we are given and whatever else we can dig from the logs. 1 out of 20 twenty times mistakes do happen.
The situation with this sanction is a bit more complicated, given the fact the whole encounter lasted more than a few minutes. We were lead to believe the transport was held up by the pirates after the demands were met. Evidently, this might or might not have been the case. That is why people are allowed and in fact expected to post in their warning/sanction threads. However using this as an excuse to bash the staff and promise hot loads is... Well, I'll leave name calling to those enjoy doing it.

Feedback ceases being constructive when it is inflammatory/disrespectful. The overwhelming response to this type of communication among most people is defensiveness, meaning you will not accomplish anything. Now, of course, some are bigger people than average and able to look through and ignore this but not all. If your wish is to actually change things, rather than simply bash, I would adjust yourself accordingly to best accommodate that goal. If that isn't your goal then you probably shouldn't be giving it in the first place. No offense mate. Hope that helps.

I totally get him. How can you not be disrespectful to them when they keep stepping on everyone's toes? If this was the first time they make a mistake (we are humans, everyone makes mistakes) or with less experience in being GM or whatever they are, I would understand why this is not the way to give feedback, but at this point they don't deserve anymore to be talked with kindness and respect. When they will start to respect this community and treat everyone equally, that's the moment when no more s**t should be thrown at them.

Seeing this as I leave does not give me hope lol. Tackling someone on no evidence.

Is it possible, that you Game-Masters have not enought (wo-)manpower?
I see some open questions without any answer for several days.

Of course you all have al life without Discovery, but is it possible that you need some help?

And bringing no evidence since over one week doesn't make it better.

If you don't have time, just post an "sorry, i have something else to do, i'll bring it later".
That is not the best way, but it is better than post nothing.

Yes. Three weeks are too long. Even two weeks is too much. The latter should be the maxium. We are currently trying to keep up with many open requests, sanction reports and other important stuff. You maybe noticed the fluctuation within the Team last month. I am sure you did.

Discovery Community Forum and Server Rules Wrote:-- Game Masters are obliged:
To develop and safeguard the health of the Discovery Freelancer community, official server, and forums.
To be fair and treat all players equally, independent of their level and faction alignment.
Not to mix server roleplaying with server administration in any way.
Not to ignore any cases of server rules violations that are reported.

In fact, the beginning of this sanction (my Rule Violation Report) was read and edited (Is edited the right word here?).
At least by one Game Master (maybe more, i don't know how you handle things like that here).
And this Game Master didn't did not comply with his commitment (see above), becouse in my post is clearly recognizing the broken rule. And that was ignored.

But as long as the whole thing has lasted, the whole thing is simply too long. Especially the reactions of the Game Master.
When you need more manpower, ask for that. I'm shure that you will find many people here that can help you. Even if not all of them have to be Game Masters.

No. There is not one Game Master who is responsible for a sanction. Blaming just one person is not the way it works.

A little insight on how things are processed. In this case the Sanction reports. A sanction report arrives. Everyone in the team, which means Head Devs, GM's & Moderators, needs to share an opinion about it based on the provided evidence. That takes time, because as you already mentioned above, we all have a life to live and not everyone in team is available every day. Sometimes we even need to dig up the server logs because the evidence is not sufficient. If we got enough votes, one of the GM's needs to proccess the Sanction. Which means Writing a report, issuing the fine etc.

Of course this kind of voting process is not the most time effecient process ever invented. But that's how it works here right now. If someone has a better idea. Well. Fire away. I am more than happy to hear suggestions. Not just a "ask for help" because the latter is always a problem if the person who wants to help is not active anymore after he realized how much work it is to be a mod or a GM. That's no part time job.

Hi Game Masters,

I'm still waiting on my Rewards from the Cortez Event the other week.
I'm owed Contrails and a Custom User Title. I haven't decided what I want for the User Title, but can I have Purple Contrails on Wilde.Rosalina.Romanov. I've asked several times and no one is getting back to me. Many thanks.
