The thing is we dont know exactly how a Jump Gate (That doesn't exist) is built or even works. So for example we cant specify that the problem was a anomolous fission in he actinide decouplers.
Like you said, we can only speculate. So technically we cant answer this question apart from briefly describing what happened.

I don't know about you, but I don't see any black holes in the system.
You can't see blackholes... what you can see is the accretion disk, which may not exist if there is no materials for the blackhole to "suck in"
