RE: What do you feel is disincentivising you to play discovery freelancer? - Thexare - 07-05-2019 Yes, because clearly all there is to roleplaying is equipping a ship and finding the right people to shoot RE: What do you feel is disincentivising you to play discovery freelancer? - LaWey - 07-05-2019 Quote:Open up ZOIs or don’t. I guess, there problem already not in just discovery freelancer, but in freelancer in general. Be honest, freel playerbase just die and you cant realy do something about it. Only try to hold current players, and seek for new sectants. About ZOI - its really not so big problem, if you bother yourself log at least 1-2 hours in day, after some time another players who dont set artifical limitations for themselve notice that and starting log around you. Also not a secret, that much of players have simple more beloved regions of space, so if give unlimited ZOI they will still play in same place) EDIT: Another point with ZOI - that practically in most time even with unlimited ZOI not likely you will find something coherent to do in another region than supposed, because ZOI appears not from thin air, and if your ZOI not match with RP interests of faction - this is probably oversight. Like, implying that you got unlimited ZOI on house lawful ship. What you will do next? Go to unlawfuls to be ganked, because everybody anyway will love to destroy with full violence random liberty caps in omegas for example. Or will you bash in another house military and die same? Or what? You ask for full freedom, but did you even thought, what you will do with it? What made you think this is will help you on any degree? RE: What do you feel is disincentivising you to play discovery freelancer? - Reddy - 07-05-2019 My problem with the mod is that i feel more alone here now than when i started 3 years ago. most of the good people who i used to fly with, fight with and learned from are gone, gives me little interest to log on and have fun like i used to. i do log when i'm called to but that's about it. an empty large galaxy RE: What do you feel is disincentivising you to play discovery freelancer? - Vendetta - 07-05-2019 I straight up don't have time or a solid footing on where I'm living or I'd probably be doing things. Summer is the opposite for me, where for three months I'm ridiculously busy but the rest of the year I do nothing. RE: What do you feel is disincentivising you to play discovery freelancer? - NoMe - 07-05-2019 Here's a question that's hard to answer! for me, that's fine. Maybe, all these changes are a reason too? I have several examples, on weapons, every time I find a good one for me, the data changes, and the weapon becomes useless. i will answer again later, when my mice will work better RE: What do you feel is disincentivising you to play discovery freelancer? - Reacher - 07-05-2019 (07-05-2019, 05:36 AM)Anton Okunev Wrote:Quote:Open up ZOIs or don’t. If people don’t take advantage of it or fear getting ganked then they don’t. It costs the server nothing except a small amount GM/dev time. But plenty of people would enjoy the freedom and enjoy being able to avoid the whole song and dance and sanction baiting that comes with flying outside you ZOI. Little things that make the game less of a chore entices people to play. No ones going to sit in empty space for hours waiting for someone to potential go to them. The fact that was even a thought is laughable and is symbolic of the attitude that not only drives/keeps new players away, but pushes the causal playerbase to say screw it. There are many of you that have invested a lot into Disco, good for you. Your elitism and looking down upon and crappy treatment of others is a major factor in why people don’t enjoy the game as much anymore (this is the exact reason why the Omegas have had barely any activity for the past 4 months) RE: What do you feel is disincentivising you to play discovery freelancer? - NoMe - 07-05-2019 interesting ![]() (like it in passing, IMG has something to see in O3) what do you believe? i mean, his own behaviour ![]() RE: What do you feel is disincentivising you to play discovery freelancer? - Mark_Brown - 07-05-2019 (07-05-2019, 02:46 AM)Sombra Hookier Wrote: The 1iC-Syndrome, as I call it, is definitely a thing. Terms: In basic, if you wanted your old 1ic back, you could immediately step down for the previous to step up I agree there, only way that would ever change if Disco official factions rules changed that they need a new 1ic every 6 months, it wouldn't matter if it wasn't working because someone new would take command. On rule three, if your 1ic was working in your faction and he/she had to step down, they could then ask the new leader to step down immediately after stepping up so the previous working leader could carry on. Evidence of new leadership & stepping down should be done in DiscoGC Forums for evidence It would introduce a boundary where *I'm staying 1ic and that's final* - The 1ic syndrome. Simply would be ineffective after 6 months. It is a thing. We could stop it. Yeah its like someone has a sign on their desk that says 'if it becomes popular, nerf it' As to the faction rule overhaul, good luck getting people who formed a faction to leave after 6 months. I dont believe every faction should be a democracy, unless thats part of the RP (like perhaps a corporation with a board of directors or investors etc). But I think it should be made sure that factions, especially official ones, need to have real 2IC's that are actually active, not just let someone who doesnt play much occupy the spot to keep a 1ic in undisputed power.
