' Wrote:Yes, however, anyone can write something about a place they've already been on another character or on another server, that's generic. Basicly, the plus points come from proving that you engaged with people in propper roleplay to find the damned thing.
You can still do that, in spite of knowing where it is. You can also plan it out.

I mean, plenty military factions do recon missions, to 'find out' stuff the characters don't know, but the players do.

Heh, reminds me that someone actually used that wizard of oz reference as a hint in-game. You know, what I really enjoy about that is seeing how some people are creative about it, the make it useful and actually makes me happy that I did the thing, despite so many doubts and times I wanted just to throw it away into recycle bin.

Adrian, you do love to argue just for the sake of it, do you?

I may be a unique case, but my character couldn't have asked for it in rp. Wouldn't have made sense. Giving the coords is more than useless, given where it is hidden. I also think making the process for getting what is a trial nommie whatsit, for people who are not nommies, so difficult focuses on the faction. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but it creates a situation where someone who wants to try out nommie rp (before deciding they enjoy it) have to go through an awful lot of struggle. Much like buying a cap, then discovering caps are not for you, except, here, there's no possibilty of jumping to SP and ioncrossing yourself in. You're testing the rp, not the ship.
' Wrote:also there are none, and can never be indie nomads. As any Oracle will tell you their minds are all linked together in a vast group consciousness. If you want to be legitimate and not some "lolmad" then your best chance is through the Oracles, or some other form of extensive RP.

Not true. Not even correct. Mindshare =/= factionalization, as Zapp's ships do attest to.

The Mindshare connects -every- Nomad in Sirius into in gigantic sort of interweb. If a Nomad is cut lose from it, it go's berserk and dies. Zapp may not be in the Keepers, but his Nomad is still connected to the Mindshare in RP.

No...

Aha... I see what you did there.

In that case, yes I do.

Zapp's char isn't exactly an indie in the full sense, Unselie. Rather a "partial independence" with many limitations and reliances, it exists under the terms of cooperation, collaboration and preservation of consistency, and under those agreements we work together. Same as with Sindroms' character. But they're rather an exception than a common, theirs are both pretty much special cases in terms of background and technical stuff mostly. Then again, it depends on how much people would like to be cooperative rather than apart. If so I am all ears. If not then no go either. Quite simple.

Struggle is a part of the life. There was a lot of it in order to make that system and that base, struggle against technical limitations and many other things. None of those above are unsolvable challenges, both in and out of RP, but this is rather giving it an extra edge. And on slightly related theme it's also a nice statistic monitor too, to see how it really fares, how much interest exists in it, etc. It's my little experiment after all, and I like it that way. And you know quite well that I like to create things and play with new stuff, trying new ideas and concepts. That's the part of Discovery where I get my dose of fun you know, and without that... hmph... well, probably wouldn't be there then I suppose. Challenge I like too, there was a lot of it and still exists, meaning there is much more to archive and to aspire to. Mmm... yeeaaaah.

Nice catch, Adrian. :-)

As far as the distinction between 'indies' and Zapp's character, which seems to indicate that indies do not collaborate with factions...Well, I don't see how Zapp's character (or any other character not a member of a faction) isn't an indie in the full sense. Being mainly an indie in the entirety of my disco experience, I understand that there is a wide range of 'indyness' but in no way do I consider characters who work with factions (most of mine do) any less of an indie. Zapp, by merit of the fact that he is not trying to join keepers, is an indie in the full sense, so far as I understand it.

Myself, I prefer that my rp focus on specific interpersonal relationships, rather than group relationships.

As for struggle...part of life, yes. But therein comes an activity of successful beings to reduce their struggles.

Also:

Quote:No...
Aha... I see what you did there.

I'm not convinced he did catch it. There's a no out of that sentence. His point would be to say No I don't, as in, he doesn't argue for the sake of it...But, seeing what you did there, he switched his position. Yes, he does love to argue...The appositive on the end, being positive or negative, didn't change the meaning of the previous sentence. Nice catch? Not so much.

I asked for some hints... Not a argument thread. Now i find people giving me the location, which is helpful, but i kinda wanted to find it by myself. Like, say its in liberty, and "Beyond the barrier" I got that (Not saying it out loud for those who didn't). Thats all i needed to find Kansas, and from there on. Then suddenly i have every bit of info needed without realizing it, or maybe the people didn't realize it. Anyway... No more hints, ive gotten quite enough to last me the trip. AND STOP ARGUING!
EDIT: Whoever heard the location in RP if lucky.
ANOTHER EDIT: I found an oracle. I found the Shrine. What i haven't found, is the oracle info on the forums, Anyone know where it is?
LAST EDIT(I swear): I found everything, its all good.
