This is my method: Kill your engines now... you have 5 seconds to comply. Transfer X credits to my ship. You have 20 seconds to complete the transfer or until your ship explodes. and in 20-30 seconds, I'm leaving the scene of either wreckage, or just a mad trader. This is why I play this game, there was great role play from all 4 of us. A KNF Destroyer turned up and we went on our way without having to pay.... But me and my convoy friend paid them via /givecash for putting alot of effort into their RP All you traders read this .... - 11of10 - 05-14-2009 ' Wrote:I can only assume by "unnescessary gunplay" you mean for example.... All you traders read this .... - Boss - 05-14-2009 I'll admit it...There are times I've performed a bit unneeded shooting. I'm working on that though. (Booty, I was trying to hit your thruster with my Mini, not your hull) Yes, the LPI pirates too. Kinda. We see a smuggler, we stop and fine them/blow them away/what-have-you. Works well when one of us on has a transport in-system to pick up the debris. (Especially on Manhattan. we've made oodles on cardamine alone) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ From a smuggler's point of view (I don't trade much): If you stop me (Which you won't, I never fly the same way twice), there's no way I'm going to pay the fine. Drop my cargo maybe. Tractor it back in and cruise? Absolutely. All you traders read this .... - Slainte - 05-14-2009 This is my method: Kill your engines now... you have 5 seconds to comply. This is how not to pirate a trader, unless of coarse all your really looking for is the blue death message. All you traders read this .... - schlurbi - 05-14-2009 Had this last time for example Pirate follows me, big Shire to slow to dock on Trade Lane, Pirate shoots tradelane. I want to talk to him, he just says, Money or die. after another try, Pirate still to cba to talk properly. LNS arrives trhough the gate (afk, yay!) Pirate shoots me without saying anything. what do you think the pirate saw? Yes, death message of himself. - i raged about the LNS later though, because a second afk LNS arrives All you traders read this .... - n00bl3t - 05-14-2009 ' Wrote:Not many oportunity for interaction there now, except guns blazing, eh? I tend to hold those registered and posting here to a somewhat higher regard than the "pirates" I see and pretty much know don't bother reading rules (even though it's given to them as cargo). But a thirty-second (max apparently) encounter, pretty much w/o giving the trader a chance to talk, is PvP abuse in my eyes. In my experience, it all depends on the pirate's attitude if he gets some easy credits or a run for his money. A pirate who CD's me (it's expected), and says something with a sort of RP, and actually acknowledges the response, will see me sit and talk. Trading's lonely, and even talking to a pirate is better than talking to the bulkhead. Ask the pirate what he/she is going to do with the ill-gotten gains. I've had answers ranging from "My family was caught up in the purges in Rheinland, and I turned to the Bundschuh because of that..." lengthy story to "i bui kruzer and pwn" (that's how it was spoken). I usually also end up giving the pirate something extra for various reasons. Asking for a decent amount of credits instead of a huge sum? you get an extra 10%. RP with me and/or give a good answer to my questions? You'll get a bonus as well. Ask for my cargo all of my cargo? if it's cheaply bought, I'll jettison it and destroy it before you can tractor it in. It's about how you present yourself, both the trader and the pirate. I won't say I haven't done the "Oh just kill me, I'm sick of you pirates", because I have. Attitude and knowing the world is bigger than just you is a lot. Edit: Quote:Well, he is in it for the RP you see.Noted? All you traders read this .... - Varyag - 05-14-2009 maybe it is fun to pound a couple dents into a trader because you are a bad nasty pirate and that is your roleplay. Yeah, I can be more civil if the trader actually cuts engins when you ask but most of the time I am spamming CD's to pin them down. So..... "Gimme my money mongrol! pew pew pew pew pew pew "ok ok I will pay I will pay! ahhhhhhh! stop shooting! *lawful forces arrive* hahaha u iz dead now!" *trader explodes* |
