Unlawful Bases. - schlurbi - 06-24-2009 I have a few Screenshots of BHG| near Unlawful bases. Even of 3 of them coming towards it without chasing anyone. We dont chase you to your lawful bases. I never saw anyone doing it. We are not talking about being ganked. But well that happens a lot of times. Just had 5 people on my arse shooting me in my Pirate Transport yesterday. And only two of them had a Notice to attack me. But well is about bases now. I had a BHG| camping Rochester for about 20 minutes till i logged off. And that you know the coordinates unlawful bases is just a poor excuse. Others that the stations with Tradelanes the unlawful bases are just rocks. It would be easy to move them a bit around. Same would be for the Cruiser in New York. Yup, just one little ole week, hell, I will even buy your ship out of my own funds. 5 Million to setup a Patriot with weapons.Let it go man. It's not worth your health or your time. Hold your head up high. Snob the scoffers. It's always been this way, and people have always downed the LN and especially the LPI. Give yourself a break. You know what you and your crew have to face. No need to let *them* take you down. Take care of yourself. It's not worth the angst. Unlawful Bases. - ryeguy146 - 06-24-2009 If I see a pirate flee to base with hunters on their tail, I'm going to be more pissed at the LR. I don't understand why we are yelling at the pursuers here. I was THERE when this happened. Those pursuers were GOADED into attacking. I was ASKED to aid a veteran Rogue and plopped myself in the middle of this mess. You know what I didn't do? I didn't run to the dang base. That's what an unlawful is supposed to do. I think we need to string up the boys that do lead em' home. I was extremely angry for even being led into this situation (LR-Beggar's.Behest) as I had previously evaded these vigilantes with relative ease. And then I'm called back into that crap storm? And then he leads them back to the base? Yea. But I'm not about to condone base camping. I think that law boys need to avoid those bases as us Rogues avoid theirs. I've made mistakes when I was a young and foolish Rogue and led people back to our base as well as following traders to theirs. But I learned better. I do not see a problem with Bounty Hunters following targets back to their bases. Only the camping. I happen to rarely see camping. I hear of it, but rarely do I see it. It is unfortunate that it happens and it is a problem, but I don't think we can fairly ask EVERYone to stop chasing us back to our bases, even if we don't chase them to theirs. I go out of my way to kill and destroy fleeing traders that were either unresponsive or rude because of a lack of RP, but I don't chase them to a base. But let us remember, unlawful bases are supposed to be kept secret, lawful bases don't have that problem. It should be our burden to keep them hidden rather than asking others to cater to our needs. I do think that an unlawful Skype channel is an excellent idea though. If I knew a dang thing about Skype, I'd set it up, but frankly, I hate the program. Edit: To all of you lawfuls worried about getting ganked, I have never once killed a police or navy member except in self defense with my LR characters. Never. I agree. But it is not fair, nor right, pirate bases are not secret because no one has found them, they are secret because they kill anyone who does. ' Wrote:You mean there isn't a Liberty unlawful chat?!?!?! Rheinland is way ahead of you. There is an unlawful chat, and this thread isn't directed at any one faction. It is directed at the community as a whole. Everyone does it, and as I'm writing this post there are three XA members 5-10k from Alcatraz. Despicable. We in the LR- go out of our way not to act like nobheads and camp bases, or even operate regularly in NY. Yet we're getting crap from all the other factions in Liberty. If anything you should go out of your way to treat others with more respect. A new revelation as occurred. The Liberty BHG master has informed me that he won't be punishing any BHG for chasing pirates to their bases. Therefore I'm forced to conclude that we will no longer care about leading them back. I hope that the LPI, LN, LSF and XA will react better. I realise that there is nothing we can do about independents, but at least the official factions should respect each other enough. Unlawful Bases. - MB52 - 06-25-2009 Firstly.. a little fun fact... pirates whine and moan when lawfuls go near their bases.. yet are always near lawful bases. Where they would get killed very fast for being near.... yet we don't whine and complain nearly as much. Secondly, the LPI has never been one to "camp" lawful bases, and will almost always peel off if heading too close to one. Of course this assumes we know the base is there. I mean, we fly into a junk field... how are we to know we are headed to a rogue base? if we randomly run into a previously unknown base... its not our fault. (RP speaking) Now... we will make sure our members know to avoid unlawful bases as best as they can, but mistakes happen. Where they would get killed very fast for being near.... yet we don't whine and complain nearly as much. You don't think I know that? We try very hard to discourage base camping. No LR will do it, and any that do will be busted down to a Bloodhound for 7 hours. And that is a completely different affair to chasing a pirate to their base. Lawful bases by in large are well known. Unlawful bases are mostly unknown. Montezuma is the only Liberty Rogue base that might be known by the LN. It makes no sense that any lawful would get with in spitting distance of Alcatraz and make it out alive, especially a squad of Liberators. It's very easy for a lawful to make a quick escape to a base and dock when loosing, yet no one wants to give up the chase on an unlawful until they are forced to. This leaves us two options: Flee to our bases or sundive. Which would you prefer? Everyone knows where unlawful bases are outside of RP. All I ask is that people have some common decency and break off before you get with in scanner range of the base. Metagaming isn't so much of a bad thing when it's done justly. It helps protect RP, prevent base camping and promote fairplay, even if the pirate in question does not deserve it. Once again, I ask that people stop flying to unlawful bases. Not just in Liberty, but all over the place. Your blue message can come another day, be satisfied that you had good RP and a good fight. You won, you don't need a system message to clarify that. At the very least I ask that faction members ask their members to respect these wishes. As official factions we are expected to act mature and respectful towards each other, especially our foes. It saddens me that I've had two instances in two days of members of official factions chasing pirates to Alcatraz. One of my Rogues is very upset that he was killed by a XA when he was trying to talk them into leaving Alcatraz after they had camped the base for 10 or more minutes, so much so that he left our skype chat in frustration. I realise there is nothing we can do to stop independents, once their minds are made up. But is it too much to ask that official faction members at least respect this? I know I'd slap/demote/make any Rogue fly a Bloodhound for camping Ouray, or Manhattan, and it's not pleasant to know your respected enemies will not do the same. Our factions may be enemies, but we are all brothers and sisters. This is a gaming community, after all. Unlawful Bases. - XxStevenLexX - 06-25-2009 It may look pretty bad in the screenshot, but the three LPI pulled off when we realized you were heading back to your base. What the vigilantes did I have no idea, I assume they kept up their pursuit, but don't show the beginning without the end. Get the whole story out there. >.> Oh, and you might want to fix three vigilantes to two vigilantes. Unlawful Bases. - Derkylos - 06-26-2009 ' Wrote:A new revelation as occurred. Why should you? A portion of those Hunters were Liberty Rogues, they know where the bases are. You gain nothing by not leading them back. As for the Hunters revealing the locations of the pirate bases to lawful entities...doesn't happen. Any Hunter that reveals the location of a base/jump hole to any non Hunter meets a messy end. Unlawful Bases. - Athenian - 06-26-2009 Does being 5-10k from Alcatraz now count as base-camping? I thought base-camping was sitting right outside a base in weapons range and killing people as they undocked. Bearing in mind that the Texas JH is close to Alcatraz, is using it now unacceptable? It might be that people are simply passing Alcatraz on their way to Texas. |
