True policemen - Zapp - 07-02-2009 There's nothing the Chief likes more than a good bribe. Send a couple bottles of wine or some money, and well... scanners have this funny way of "not working" if you catch my drift. I actually encourage the LPI to accept bribes, I think it's great fun. Unlawful action?Only if you get caught!:) True policemen - hack - 07-02-2009 One time, a guy actually RPed that a load of Artifacts, only like a hundred I think, that they were an art exhibit for the Museum of Manhattan. We let him go because his RP was awesome! True policemen - sovereign - 07-02-2009 If I find a smuggler on my LPI and they appear to be more than your basic powertrader, I'll often grumble in local about how low my salary is. Since I'm a little selective about who I mention that to, about 50% get the hint and offer a "donation" to the "good name of the LPI". At such point I will suddenly have some "paperwork" to fill out regarding their "donation" and will be too busy to report them across system channels or stop them from cruising along. Technically it isn't unlawful. Suspiciously incompetent? Maybe. Unlawful? Heheheh. For the rest of the time Larry's a hard cop. But with cash, he figures that some money in Liberty's coffers... or put into economic circulation... is better than having to ask the Junkers to clean up another wrecked ship. Especially for harmless contraband... although with cardamine, you figure how many innocent people might die if they don't get it, and it can get into a gray area... if you choose to swing it that way. It's all in your perspective, really. Technically we can't take "bribes". But we are happy to accept "donations" and know what is expected of us when we've received them- be subtle if you can, so long as you don't spell it out even the Navy can't get anywhere with legal action. True policemen - Chico - 07-02-2009 I have to say I like it as it is. There are officers who take bribes and there are most, who don't. Theres no trick to finding the right one. Sometimes you get lucky, often, you don't. The LPI aren't the only ones. I've bribed the LN before and on one occasion, a BAF pilot. Just gos to show you. True policemen - AdamantineFist - 07-03-2009 ' Wrote:Wow, pretty self centered there....Err... if that precludes taking bribes, then that's sorta stupid. It is, after all, an integral part of the LPI RP... ' Wrote:If you scope the rumours, they are all desperate for money though. A lot of them moonlight security for the corporations, even synth foods, and some talk about giving up the military for a full time job in a corporation.Old rumour. RHeinland is doing better now, after nearly two decades. True policemen - Todd - 07-03-2009 Quote:Old rumour. RHeinland is doing better now, after nearly two decades. Yes SOME are, not the commonwealth. All in all if ya can't put up enough dough to buy your freedom oh well. |
