BSs should be slightly more powerful, cruisers should be able to destroy GBs, and swarms of GBs should be able to take a BS out, if the pilots are skilled. a BS should only be destrouctable by ether 6-7 fighters, 3-5 GBs, or 2-3 cruisers. just my opinion. Where ever you heard or saw that a bunch of fighters and bombers destroy a battleship?!? As someone just said, you would need 3 cruisers not 3 bombers to take a BS down. Well, btw, the capships need better anti-fighter weapons. Why is that... because in real world we can see that one damn shot from any kind of capship cuts the very best fighter to pieces. And one another thing which must be discussed. Let's take all SCIFI shows/movies we know. I am a Stargate Fan, both shows. Let's take Atlantis for a review for example. The human ship(Daedalus for the one who watch the show) cuts to shreds some hundreds of enemy fighters (wraith darts). Also, we see that if it remains without it's protective shield, it gets destroyed with 3-4 shots. Enough with Stargate. Let's take Star Trek. Their shield is named Hull Plating. In several episodes we can see that without it's hull plating, the sip get destroyed with a couple of shots. Think about that. Battleship problem - Panzer - 05-19-2007 Pff... I remember the battle of Chugoku a few days ago. Damn, it was hard to hit ANYTHING in red lag, asteroids and a horde of NPCs ramming my Battlestar back and forth. I agree, that capships NEED effective anti-fighter weapons. Specialized missle turrets, dealing little damage, but hitting about every time It's utter nonsense for me, that something as big as a battlestar is geting owned by a bunch of flies. While originally it would literally obliterate anything stupid enough to get in weapons range It didn't have any shield, but it had a VERY thick armor. That armor could in the case of a more modern ship withstand 5 direct nuke hits. For weaponry, a battlestar could either fire accurate ship-to-ship missle (see episode "hero") or create a firewall of FLAK, setting up an impassable barrier for anything smaller. Be it a swarm of cylon raiders (typically about 300 per basestar) or nuclear missles launched by them. Speaking of which, I'd really love to see torpedos like on Starlancer, big, easy to shoot down, non-homing and hard-hitting. Naturally requiring ammmo. Battleship problem - Dab - 05-21-2007 Can't read 50 posts.. I voted to make the BS stronger, as it needs to be. I also voted to give fighters a chance.. BUT, that means a chance in GROUPS. Responding to the first post; 3 fighters that are well-piloted SHOULD have a chance at taking that BS, especially if they have Novas. Battleship problem - Eppy - 05-21-2007 Dab said it first.
