Note the line that says ... 'That do not pay for passage'. Meaning you have to ask first. And you cannot pirate
in a battleship. So you cannot just blow them up in a battleship either.
Is that enough of an answer ?

What happens if they argue that the ID doesnt state you have to ask for tax first. No asking for tax = they arent pirating. And since they have not asked for money(and I assume the trader wouldnt just give them any) then technically they could destroy the trader as they have not payed for passage(which I again point out that the pirate is not required to ask for).

I haven't got a pirate chatacter but I like to be clear on things, because as it stands(unless there is some other law I have missed) a person with a pirate ID could theoretically destroy someone with a trader ID.

Or is this using the word of the law to defeat the spirit of the law?

That is a ludicrous argument, and just looking for a way round the stated rules, but hey, if you wish to make
yourself look like you do not wish to enter into the spirit of the game, or the roleplay. Be my guest ...
Or please grace us with a prime example of how you intend to circumvent ...
This is what is creating most of the problems in the first place. Stop trying to interpret the rules, and just follow
them. You seem to be getting awkward now just for the sake of it.
Or is that F Wolf ? Hard to tell ...

You know you could have answered with something calm and sensible, hmmm, starting a reply with "That is a ludicrous argument". Oh very nice, very helpful.

A way around the rules? Me? Who doesnt even have a pirate character, yeah good call there.

As for entering RP, this isnt the RP forums and it isnt in game, I`m not required to roleplay here. But sure, I`ll use you as my example of how to enter the spirit of the game. "You seem to be getting awkward now just for the sake of it." That is a ludicrous argument. You are the one who is awkward, my post wasnt a standing opinion, in fact, as I read over it again, it was a question. Yes thats right, perhaps you should read more carefully. It was never my argument, I was asking "What happens..."

"Or please grace us with a prime example of how you intend to circumvent ..." Uhm... maybe you should finish your sentances before posting next time.

"This is what is creating most of the problems in the first place. Stop trying to interpret the rules, and just follow "

The rules shouldnt have any interpretation, they are meant to be clear, well worded and exact. The sheer amount of argument on these forums just proves that they are not. Yep your solution would work, everyone should just conform, become unthinking robots.

"Or is that F Wolf ? Hard to tell" Hmmm? Did I mention F Wolf in my post... Ah I didnt.. then why? Oh, right, I forgot. Your letting your personal problems interfere with your posts. You shouldnt, I don't, emotions have no place being wasted on these forums.

"Be my guest ..."

Why thankyou for your permission.

I eagerly await your response :P

Appologies, I do like a good argument:)
I try not to personally insult persons though
>_>

Well Mastery, for all that elegant fluff there, no debate spotted whatsoever. Seems you want to argue for
the sake of it. So pointless me or anyone else actually joining in then. Carry on on your own please ...

No need, you fulfilled my expectations perfectly, thanks.

Also: "no debate spotted whatsoever" / "Seems you want to argue "

Argue is a synonym of debate.

Personally i dont see what is wrong with killing the trader as long as the cargo is not tractored in, and you have made the trader aware that they are about to be attacked:

unlawful sees trader in train

says: You purveyor of capitalist/house/enemy means evacuate your ship and let it be destroyed, or it shall be destroyed with you aboard

train responds: tough titty

unlawful blows it out of the water.

ive done that many a time, just disturb the flow of goods, dont take any for yourself, in fact destroy them, so if a cruiser did that then that is perfectly legal, because versus a transport of any kind there is little difference between a gb and a cruiser.

you say that goes against the rules, but in reality it adds another dimension to the stories, as in history there have been many cases of military attacking enemy civilian transport and not plundering, the battle of the atlantic comes to mind.
