The possibility of getting a Terrorist ID - NonSequitor - 02-16-2010

Who is that chap with the yin yang symbol in his avatar?

Dieter Sprockets? Yeah, that must be him.

Anyway, the Discovery version replaces yin and yang with pvp and rp. Astute.

Spazzy, when you state repeatedly, that this terrorist character would be your "relief" character, as opposed to your "rp" characters, that kind of gets folks thinking.

Thinking that giving you a terrorist ID would opening a Pandora's box of pvp-centric fail.

But personally, I think you should get a terrorist ID - with some added stipulations:

1. Absolutely no complaining when you experience the minty freshness of gank on a regular basis.

2. No moaning and groaning when capship commanders decide to get in some AA practice. Using your terrorist as a target of irresistable opportunity.

3. Post a brief entry in the forums (a madman's diary, if you will) of each kill you made and why you killed, terrorized or traumatized your victim.

4. No bragging about your pvp-skills in game or in the forums. No self-promoting fraps either.

5. If you break any of these stipulations, you lose the ID.

However, as you know, I can't hand out any IDs. Follow some of the advice you've already been given. It's your best shot.

But I do agree with you and Zeltak on one thing: pvp is kind of our dirty little secret here on the server. Most deny their own fascination with pvp and attempt to rationalize pvp with their own understanding of what constitutes good rp. A disclaimer here: I am mediocre at pvp. Just don't have the reflexes.

The fact stands: most folks here actually do like blowing other folks up. No getting around it. We mine and trade, often for countless hours with one goal in mind: getting a ship to blow somebody else up with. You might have an engaging backstory of why you blow people up, but you're still pew-pewing all the same. Big deal.

Why do you thinks players spend so much time bellyaching about "fair play"? Because pvp trumps rp in some situations. After watching many carefully organized fighter vs. fighter furballs, this is the conclusion I've come to. Roleplay says "overkill is justified". Pvp says "fairplay overides rp".

Why is our unlawful playerbase so large? Would it be that large if their shiplines and weapons were nerfed to a civilian level? What if they had to announce in the forums a list of daily victims - before robbing them? Methinks the fascination with the dark side would seriously begin to wane with many players. Folks like their pvp. And most like having some sort of edge in pvp, as is evident in balance threads.

Here's an illustration of the how the pvp-rp relationship on our server is seen by myself, using the hamburger as a metaphor:

Some people like all the toppings on their hamburgers - the tomatoes, onions, lettuce, cheese, secret sauce, etc. In Disco terms, these are the players heavily involved in rp. It's good to have them around, even if you don't bother reading all the material they publish on the forums.

Other people like some toppings on their hamburgers, but not as much as the hardcore rper - hold the tomato and cheese. Onions, lettuce and secret sauce are enough to make a tasty hamburger. I'm probably in this category, since most of my rping is ingame. And I'm usually not very dogmatic about it.

Then you have those folks, that are perfectly happy with the hamburger patty, bun and maybe some secret sauce. Our pvp-mongers. If they follow the basic rules, including 0.0, everything should be good to go.

The thing that unites us all, as players disenchanted with purely pvp-oriented servers populated with, uh some colorful people with zero rp-awareness, is that we are all munching on that same scrumptious Discoburger. May its shelflife be long indeed.

' Wrote:I will not deny any of this. Ofcourse I love attention, who doesn't? isn't that the reason people post their story's even if they do not admit it? isn't that why people break rules or do raegs or are an otherwise unlikable prick?
You've certainly went above and beyond in getting attention by any means, mostly picking methods cheap and easy. But focusing on that entirely you're continuously repeating yourself and that makes people see your attention grab is really worth nothing. If you so eager to entertain the public try to show some diversity.

' Wrote:And for your information, I had forgotten Zalktis was on my 2nd adf, it usually was on Kollins shared account (which had the cruiser as well) which I did not post by the way.
Regardless, it was your responsibility to keep it away. Thankfully the damage was prevented but not before one person was caught trying to sneak into restricted bases. Trust is like that - quite easy to lose it. Still, intentional or not - it seem to me you've made your choice long before, nothing I can do about that, only saying that your attitude is no longer my problem, at least some relief.

' Wrote:As I mentioned in the first post, I do not wish to do PvP on my RP characters. I would rather have a separate character for that, when I wish to do some pew pew. And I do not wish a Xeno, because NY has enough retards already. No, I would rather have a separate pvp orientated minimum RP roc bomber.

I noticed by your Signature you already have a Liberty Rogue...

Use a Pirate ID.
[color=#FFCCFF]Pirate everyone.

Be creative.
Go kill.

I mean what the hell is this here?
[color=#FFFF66]'GIEV 'RIST IIIDEEE PLOX BICOS I WUNNA KEEL!!one'

That it?

[Image: 600107-oh_you_super.jpg]

Write your wall of text like everybody else who's got one, bug the Ghosties, or just use the means you have and kill.
By all damn means you can kill, kill and kill some more whenever you bloody want and wherever you bloody want, you don't need a goddamn Terrorist ID to shoot people, you just need to use your goddamn brain and get yourself in the right spot at the time you want to kill, it's not that hard.
Your badass and hardcore-RPing self should be able to figure out a couple ways of just how you can RP yourself into shootery in more ways than one.

[color=#FF9966]I mean, you're aware that a fair bunch of people who are far less awesome than you are are doing that exact thing on this place, day by day, right?

Shouldn't be too hard for you then, no?

[font=Century Gothic]And honestly, y'know, you not wanting to smear the PvP-whore title on your characters, that's one hell of a silly excuse.
I mean, really, sooner or later everyone who goes shooty is going to be called that.
And I doubt you don't be shootin' at all, si comrade?
Might aswell just suck it down and live with it.
Not like the 'Rist ID is that fancy anyways.

[font=Comic Sans Ms][color=#00CCCC]B[color=#66FFFF]ut hey!

[font=Fixedsys]If it helps... just make a new character!
One of which the name you won't tell to anyone, since all you want is your personal stress relief-ish kind of PvP-enjoyment, right? Right? Riiight?
That way nobody will know it's Sindroms, and no one can call you a PvP-whore and and and you won't get that smeared on your other characters! Really!
And and and it's really easy!
Even you can do it!

/restart [color=#FFCCFF]Liberty -> [color=#FF99FF]fly to Allentown -> buy a Pirate ID -> fly to Mactan -> get a Lane Hacker bribe and a Sabre -> fly to Barrier Gate and kit out the Sabre -> fly to the next Freeport for some Fury shooters and maybe Debs -> TADA!
You have a new ship to go pew pew people with!
[color=#FFFFFF]Takes less than an hour to make and does the job just dandy! Woohoo!

[font=Arial Black]But yeah, y'know.
Y'know.

[Image: istock_000000216336xsmall.jpg]
[font=Arial Black][color=#FFFFFF]Could just eat some tasty chocolate instead, aye?
An' jus' 'ave a nice day, aye? Save y'self all that 'ere 'assle, aye?
So there ain' gon' be any rage, aye?
An' anyey frustration, aye?

[color=#FFCCFF]Hur [color=#FF99FF]hur.

heh

I hope y'all realize that y'all are bein' trolled. inb4 not trolling, Spaz.
So to play off the troll attempt, you should simply get a lib gunboat and get a liberty navy id. Then you can pew-pew to your heart's content, just like every single other player with that ship and ID combo.

Every terrorist hangs out in Liberty for lulz and pew pew any way, save yourself the political BS and make an indie pirate.
