Transporting Zoner Passengers - Dab - 04-18-2010 This'll finally give something to take between Sparta/Corinth and FPXV, which we've been lacking of so far. Transporting Zoner Passengers - Malaclypse 666 - 04-18-2010 I'm making the assumption that these folk will take up two spots, including their baggage; but that's still a nice fare schedule. I'm satisfied. Nice work, Xoria. If there are no further objections, it has my Offishul Buttcheek Imprimatur. Mal Transporting Zoner Passengers - Xoria - 04-18-2010 No, 1 passenger per cargo slot, so the apparent & effective rate of return is the same. Well, you get two buttcheeks in return then! Cheers! Transporting Zoner Passengers - Malcolm_Reynalds - 04-19-2010 This may be a day or two late to add my two cents, but here goes First off, for those who don't know me, I play almost exclusively Zoner characters, but I havn't had a trade ship since mine turned into a gunboat early 4.85 (so I may be lacking in my 4.85 Zoner trade route knowledge of profitability) Secondly, I like the term "Zoner Passengers" as it could still mean simply "Passengers Zoners transport" who may or may not be a Zoner who is paying for transport. Now, If the Commodity in question does in fact become some sort of passenger, it does not make logical sense to me to have all the traffic going "one way". Though I don't know how it would work exactly, if there could be 2 of the "same" commodity with somewhat "mirrored" pricing. So conceivably one could transport "zoner Passengers" profitably on both legs of a round trip between two bases.(more profit the farther the two bases are) If so, I would also argue in favor of reducing the Profit/sec of it. My reason being: IMO I wouldn't want it to become a primary trade of Zoners, or a loop that doesn't require leaving the system to make a profit; rather, "something" to make a decent profit on while traveling between bases that would not otherwise have anything profitable to take (besides Contraband). Other Thoughts: ' Wrote:Now, how do we breathe life into bloody Freep 14? Hanging garden tomatoes?remove it's "dead end" stigma by adding a jump hole to Tau 29, and possibly move the Quad bribe from Bethlehem there. (and I personally would rename it to FP 3 sense there isn't already one) A topic for another thread: Make a "mirror" commodity of other "Human Cargo" such as: Passengers, Scientists, Tourists, VIPs, and Vacationers into two "versions" of the same commodity. making it possible to make round trips with the "same" commodity. (People do come back from vacations. Take one group there, take another group home.) If we're talking about Ames you can always go through the jump hole in Ontario and head towards Canaria or the Taus so is there any point in a jump hole to Tau 29? The problem is the other way (east), you have to either have to go through Rheinland space or Kusari space to get to the Sigmas and Omicrons which can be a pain. I think what Ames needs is a cargo with a decent trade price to take to Gran, in the good old days before Zoners were banished from house stations I used to pickup Alloys from Colorado, but now there isn't anything worth picking up from Ames other than software which is the reason it's a pain going through Kusari and Rheinland. Transporting Zoner Passengers - Malaclypse 666 - 04-19-2010 Well, I think he was talking about our lovely outpost in Yukon.. the only bloody thing there except for two jumpholes.. to Alberta, or to the Rogue Guard system, Cassini. Now, if someone wanted to take the time and effort to get neutral to the Rogue Guard, you've just cut a lot of empty space off your travel time to/from Freeport 14. But again, the only thing outbound from 14 is Pornographic Principias, aka software. And right now, if you do *cough* deal in software, hazarding Colorado to/from Ames is just as fast, and a tad more profitable. Freeport 14 is now the lead buyer of deuterium, but again, Ames is more convenient and almost as fast as a destination for deut. So yeah, make 14 a little more attractive. Make it the home of that outrageously easy quad bribe, and maybe a few more folk will actually find the place. Transporting Zoner Passengers - Elsdragon - 04-19-2010 What Head-Preist-person guy-golden-apple said. 14 is more empty than Del's Soul. Transporting Zoner Passengers - Mounteblanc - 04-20-2010 Sooooo... We're getting Zoner passengers. And no word whatsoever of military personnel, or alcoholic beverages aside from wine, or all those other things people want? Mmm. Okay then. I'm not... Uhm... Annoyed? Yeah. Sure. Riiiight. Now all we need is something to move said Zoners in. *coughpassengertransportcough* Transporting Zoner Passengers - DAnvilFan - 04-22-2010 ' Wrote:Well, I think he was talking about our lovely outpost in Yukon.. the only bloody thing there except for two jumpholes.. to Alberta, or to the Rogue Guard system, Cassini. When you look past the issue of wasted in-game space, you realize that FP14 is more or less the ideal Zoner location: it is so isolated from the rest of the Universe that folks scarecely visit it. And here's the deal with the Zoner passangers commodity: introduce it into the module and you'll breathe new life into the roleplaying element of Zoner trading. |
