gaian GB revision - Jinx - 07-22-2010 gaians don t get a "new" gunship - the gunship will be considered to have looked like that from the very beginning. - its an aesthetic change to avoid unwanted associations. wether kusari supports gaians or goes down in flames to gallia is irrelevant for that matter. - the gaian gunship is sold at skye anyway and produced out of thin air ( cause gaians have no shipyard ) - so no need to apply logic to that item. gaian GB revision - Disparagess - 07-22-2010 ' Wrote:gaians don t get a "new" gunship - the gunship will be considered to have looked like that from the very beginning. - its an aesthetic change to avoid unwanted associations. Ah, ok. I noticed however, that some of the older models of ships where being RPed as earlier versions of the same shipline, which is why I'm kinda confused... gaian GB revision - Elven - 07-22-2010 Jinx, you forgot Gaians will be cut off by GRN in .86 from Kusari. So help comes rather from Aland shipyard or Tripoli itself, even. And why'd Gaians entrust Kusari with their the most protected and the best ship designs? :| gaian GB revision - Taneru - 07-22-2010 I love how people are completely ignoring a certain thread, and are instead going on about balance and who gets what here. Right, what I see when I look at this is a fusion of the Yacht and the Kusari gunboat. It has the underside fin and general sloping shape of the Yacht, and the huge fins of thew Kusari Gunboat(Which, in my opinion, needs a proper name). The Yacht resemblance is good, in my opinion. The Gaians' main enemy is OS&C, so it is not unthinkable that they would be stealing design elements from OS&C ships, to the extent that if they ever got a cruiser of their own for some reason(It is not outside the realm of possibility, regardless of naysayers' opinions), it is my opinion that is should resemble the Luxury Liner. The Kusari resemblance, though, I'm not sure about. The Gaians are indeed closer to Kusari than most Bretonian factions, and that may very well have influenced their ship designs. However, I don't think the Gaians should be flying ships that are so openly resembling the ships of their nation's current enemies, especially if they want to continue to try to win the support of the public. Now, mind you, I do love the fins. They're very well done, and I don't think you should remove them, just alter them a bit. Why not have them extending out from the little turret mount 'winglets' near the engines, or perhaps coming down from the underslung fin like a sail. That way, they could be folded up in combat to prevent them from being damaged, and then extended later. Something like the scorpionfish, Deadly, and beautiful at the same time. A design taken from nature, to defend nature. gaian GB revision - schlurbi - 07-22-2010 That Ship is just beautiful. I really liked the old Gunship, but this one is even better ^_^ Middle Section looks like Lego, and I love Lego too ^_^ gaian GB revision - Marburg - 07-22-2010 While I always appreciate the work you do Jinx, this is one of those occasions where I have to say "Why fix something that isn't broke?" The current model is much better than the new one you're offering up & it's just change for change's sake...I say "so what" if people make jokes about the shape. I strenuously object to changing it...besides, imho the new one you made seems too flashy. The current one is much more utilitarian looking & more in line visually with what I think Gaians would produce. Please don't let a minor irritant dictate your actions:( gaian GB revision - Valarin - 07-22-2010 Taken with a grain of salt from a newbie whose only seen the Claymore via HardCMP, I must say I prefer the old model. I fail to see the fuss about a penis reference, but even if there is - does it matter? I think it's a beautiful ship, and a terrible waste to be scrapped over a few moronic comments. Were I able to justify a random indy gunboat character it would be one of my first choices, and no manner of snide remarks would alter that. That's not to say the new model is bad at all, I just wholeheartedly feel that the current one fits better. I think the elegance of it, quite fitting with my view of the gaian faction, is a little lost in translation to the new ship. I'll be quite sad to see the old one lost if this is a change that's already set in stone. gaian GB revision - Jinx - 07-22-2010 right you are - since you re leading the NLH ( or at least have done it - in case i m not up to date anymore ) - this proposal will be removed and we can consider it hasn t happened. like i said - included - unless the official faction does not wish it to be included. and - i already said it in post #1 .... personally, i like the current model more, too. - i just consider people with a too vivid imagination beyond the point of being annoying. this thread can be locked now. gaian GB revision - CCI45-px/Probe149 - 07-22-2010 Although i generally like your models and the proposed usage for them, i have to say this time i only like the model. Maybe tweak it a bit and replace the Dragon GB making the current one a transport with a Gunboat FW gun, or give it to the FA/Hogs. Maybe even GMG. Looks too Kusarian to be Gaian. gaian GB revision - Dusty Lens - 07-22-2010 ' Wrote:this thread can be locked now. |
