Zoner ID - Not Espi - 10-01-2010

IC ID Wiki Wrote:Pilot carrying this ID is employed by Interspace Commerce, who :

* Can trade and escort traders
* Can attack pirates and terrorists in self-defense, to protect another trader, to assist lawful forces or in defence of corporate bases. May also actively hunt Independent Pirate and Lane Hacker ID players.
* Can lawfully land on the bases of: Golden Chrysanthemums and Red Hessians
* Cannot ally with any unlawfuls.

* Cannot participate in any unlawful actions.

Allowed ships: Fighters, Freighters, Transports

Carrying unmounted IDs in your ship, as well as not equipping an ID, is a serious crime.

dusteh Wrote:So the position I wanted to forward, resulting in poop being flung at my person, is that the Zoner ID would be well served if the greater Zoomer community would concur that a shred of wisdom existed in, say, being rephacked hostile to house unlawfuls (house house. Not Hessian/Corsairs((haw))/Outcasts). Said unlawfuls would still have access to freeports. But wouldn't admit Zoner docking requests. Their material needs are met by the Junkers.

with exception of borderworld unlawful houses note, same thing.

fine i'm being civil.

Another whining " Zoner players are morons " thread. Why don't you just extinguish zoners from the game altogether, it seems to be what you want.

Now now... nothing wrong with a lil discussion, yes? Let's try to be civil and not get our hackles up. kthx

Zoner ID - Stygian - 10-01-2010

Anyone that has ever asked me about the current ZG ID knows that I'm not a fan of it at all. It is a completely OORP restriction with no RP to back it up and it really doesn't make sense in regards to my faction, OSI. It's kind of awkward having to say "i dunno" when asked why we don't use our whales to ship to house space in game. However, we've adapted pretty well. And I would like to assume that the routes coming in .86 have been balanced around the restrictions.

A little more back on topic here. Why take a chance on further screw ups? If things absolutely have to be simplified, I would suggest something along the lines of what Dab suggested.

it required quite a few days of Effort it was not a single daily or even hourly process

for those of us who busted our butts to get the zoner whale when it first came out and the guard id with it ?

I say make new routes that dont include house space. and leave the smuggling routes there.

Actually I do have a pretty good idea of how hard it is to get Zoner (4.84) and Zoner Guard rep. I think I've made a total of 5 Zoner characters since I've been on the server. I'm not anti-Zoner by a long shot. I'll be making another ZG as soon as I get the funds to do so.

If I remember correctly, the whole Zoner Guard ban in House Space brouhaha was instigated by some influential individuals who wanted diversification in the trader base. More corporate trading and all that jazz.

I'm all for improved Zoner routes outside of House Space. And some heavily armed transports wouldn't hurt either, since many/most players don't give a hoot about the merits of Zoner diplomacy on the trade routes.

Forget Guard ID altogether and leave the neutrality alone.

Zoner ID - Land wherever, and limited to freighters or small transports. And Conference is OK.
Zoner Merchant ID - Can't land in house space, and five-kay is o-kay. No capital ships!

Zoner Guard ID - *pfft*

Sharing the same NPC affiliation, no need to go to extreme lengths to get the Trader ID -- you just need to agree by the rules of it to not land in house space. Put it on all the places Zoner IDs are sold. Make it cost a million, whatever.

But Andy! I needs my Aquillon to feel relevant!
Zoner ID, capital ships only with TAZ/OSI permission! (Yeah, you gotta ask.) Existing whores grandfathered in.

Someone mentioned IND. Being invite only I'm sure it's members can behave. At least a little.

Zoner ID's are not invite only thus something needs to be done (sadly) as it was needed with Junker ID

Zoner ID - Jinx - 10-01-2010

"something needs to be done"

a sentence like that makes me shiver - especially when someone who doesn t RP the faction utters it. why not leave it to the official zoner factions to decide what "needs to be done"?

oh - and for the record - there are 3 active zoner factions, not two.
