Queen Carina's Royal Fleet - Praetyre - 01-25-2008 Square brackets help bump players higher in the Communications section. Also, they differentiate from names/designations. Queen Carina's Royal Fleet - Dieter Schprokets - 01-25-2008 True enough. (The Mando's have a tough time finding each other on chat; tag at END of name) Queen Carina's Royal Fleet - Othman - 01-25-2008 You are on a good track people.. This has my full blessing.. Queen Carina's Royal Fleet - Heartless - 01-25-2008 howbout just [QCO] without saying anything else, like HF, or BC. I dislike those, there;s no point in it. Your enemy will know what you are once they see you, no point in telling them how to prepare to the coming battle. Another little thing, I dont' really want another Bretonian ship. I like to limit myself on number of characters, and I would like to keep my options open, but we'll see how that turns out. But for now, howbout just take a poll on who even wants to merge, or combine or whatever? Queen Carina's Royal Fleet - Stratus - 01-25-2008 Sounds good, aside from SF being given the backseat role in the war effort. We may have been very inactive of late, but battle group Stormpike was to be the primary offensive force in the Taus. If the QCG, or whatever we end up being named, are to be confined to a heavy police duty in Bretonia and only to be relied on as backup, then it looks like I'll be requesting transfer of the majority of my vessels to the QCO. They'd be defensive military, active in the Taus, whereas QCO would be active deeper in Kusari. Also, we DON'T do police work! The QCO/P/G are NOT police! Queen Carina's Royal Fleet - Dieter Schprokets - 01-25-2008 I would SO much prefer just to take all existing QCO/QCP and SF and rename all of us to [BAF] tag. Simple is so underrated. I guess I just don't see much point in separate groups. If a former SF is on, and the former QCO/QCP are going into the taus, is the SF guy seriously gonna stay behind and mind house? No, he'd go too. Its not like there's gonna be 15 BAF's on at once. One Faction, One tag. Simple. Queen Carina's Royal Fleet - Unseelie - 01-25-2008 We have a problem when it comes to renaming everything BAF, espescialy when it comes to the QCP. The QCP are not authentic BAF, and have a very separate purpose. The QCP cannot have a BAF tag, and continue acting as they do. Another point to be made is, a ship awaiting a namechange is effectively out of commission, and besides being expensive, and more work for the admins, it would be good, strategicly, to have as few namechanges possible. I admit, I am a bit QCO centric, as it was my brainchild...but, I see no reason to name it BAF, other than to be easier for people who have no idea whats going on to understand. The faction will, of course have BAF tags, and Ids, and I hardly think its my job to help people who have no idea what the rp is, understand who we are. It really isn't that complicated. Also, I will be by no means expecting the (SF) to mind the homefront during a raid. The best defense is a good offense. Queen Carina's Royal Fleet - bluntpencil2001 - 01-25-2008 Also, the less NCCs the better. Those things are annoying. Queen Carina's Royal Fleet - Dieter Schprokets - 01-25-2008 OK, I think I see a way out of this debate. To summarize so far: 1) There seems to be general support for the SF - QCO/QCP merger (indeed, nothing else makes sense) 2) There seems to be general support for keeping the Existing Factions as subgroups within the new faction 3) What we are currently debating, I think, is only what to call the new faction, and what tag to use. There are 2 separate options: a) Some (including me) favour renaming everyone, something like BAF, and keeping the existing factions as subtags, something like BAF-QCO, BAF-QCP and BAF b) Others, (lets call them the QCO-centric) seem to just want to rename the former SF people, ie QCG for Queen Carinas Guard, or IMHO, better name for former SF, if it came to it, is QCR for Queen Carinas Regulars. For option a, the Faction Name would be something like Bretonian Armed Forces, for option b, the Faction Name would be, I dunno, Queen Carinas Armed Forces (?). Unselie to decide that. (Youll make a good Queen) Also, we COULD ask the admins to do a special round of name changes for free, under the circumstances. SUGGESTION TO RESOLVE ASAP Unselie, do a poll on forums, worded as follows: With regards to the upcoming merger of SF and QCO/ACP, which of the following 2 naming conventions do you prefer: 1) Renaming ALL former SF and QCO/QCP characters with a Master tag, like BAF, and naming the new merged faction something like BAF. OR 2) Just renaming the former SF people, as QCR (Queen Carinas Regulars) or QCG (Queen Carinas Guard) or something similar. All existing QCO/QCP keep their names. New Faction name to be something like Queen Carinas Armed Forces. Then let the majority rule. Your baby, Unselie. Just trying to help. Bear in mind, you likely cant please everybody no matter what. |
