That is part of role play, you'll lose them of course but the GRN forces Kusari and the IMG to stand down, at that time the GMS, IDF, and EFL will have free reign on the region.
Ofcourse, but the nice thing of the jump to 86, is that we skip that war-time. I mean, if this gets done, it makes sense to deny access to Kusari for IDF. Then we have to get back to Gallic trading. Which is still dead boring.

Yes please. Enough said.

Another question. Since no VISIBLE change will occur - will RP violations be punished for stuff that is de-jure illegal by .85 or future standards?

I'm talking about things like CR basing off Java while at the same time GMS supposedly has IMG under its thumb. Who's right? The mod didn't progrss, IDs still have the same text in. RP progressed though.

CrossBones would gladly welcome this war to start. I voted yes.

Oh I understand John. If the GRN invades the Tau region then it is highly likely that any deals the Gallic corporations have will be lost for the time period that is the invasion. Did any of us expect anything different?

While it might suck, I'd rather not loose the role play and fun that involves the GRN rolling out. Perhaps the factions in question will have their fun and then go ahead and do what they know they are going to be forced to do. That is sign a treaty or something and become neutral to the GRN like they will be in 4.86. Though I highly doubt many will do so until 4.86 makes them.

Good point. I think we would have to come up with a list of allowed oddities.

Well, I like the idea, as right now, Gallia is rather boring (as is most of Sirius, due to the fact that we've been doing the same stuff with the same stuff for almost 2 years now since .85 came out), so it'd be nice to have something to do.

On the other hand, there are a few problems that come to mind...

The first of which being that the closest place the GRN has to dock on is the Battleship Carcassonne at the north end of Languedoc, meaning that whenever a GRN ship died in say Tau 23, it will respawn 3 systems away, making it extremely awkward for the GRN to actually get to the combat.

The second problem is that to get to the Taus from Gallia, the GRN has to go through Languedoc, filled with oh-so-fun Bomber NPCs, and then Orkney, filled with even more entertaining BHG Dessie NPCs, in addition to the Bomber patrols.

What this adds up to is that the GRN will be facing death-by-NPC on a regular basis, and when suffering such a fate, will be sent right the way back to the Dauphine - Languedoc border. So I think if a solution can't be found (which at the moment I can't really see happening without FLHook magic, or .86), then it may well end up in no one being bothered to go to all the effort of getting to the Taus, only to be met with 87634928364 OC Dreads.

Possibly the Council/GRN repfix to neutral?

Would allow Reunion to be used as a base, under the assumption that Council bases have been tamed by brute force.

Again, to make this happen we would have to do some odd things.
