RE: Freeport 10's "Sylvania Dome" - Zephyranthes - 06-08-2013

Upon overhearing Yriam's declaration as artificial intelligence, David stood up from where he was, and moved in closer to the conversation. Now, it was no secret that Colonials had never been fans of AIs, but unlike many of his compatriots, David was willing to still retain a sense of tact and professionalism in a conversation. And for him, the opportunity to learn of places he had not been to was too good to pass up.

"Excuse me, but you said you're not from Sirius? Where you from then, exactly?" he said, a curious. yet cautious look on his face.

He extended his hand, and said with a small smile
"David Tennyson, Colonial Movers. My Atlas just moored here."

" Our contracts would range from the most notorious to the most honest, madame. It is up to you whether or not you accept them.

But before I am able to continue, I would like to know your commitment. If you will follow and abide by your business policies to be precise. "
He said.

He took a short pause from his speech, a pause dedicated to finishing the last drops of wine he had in his glass.

" The policies include mostly secrecy and punctuality. Whatever we may decide on or whatever business contracts we may have, absolutely no third party shall know about it, ever! No one should even have the slightest glimpse or faint idea about our business.

Moreover, if you will accept and commit yourself to a contract, I would expect you to carry it out regardless of the impediments along the way.

Abide by these two simple policies and I assure you, madame, the price of hiring your assets shall be... irrelevant! "

He took a short break dedicated to drawing his breath. Afterwards, he revealed his typical grin and said:

" Any questions before I may begin, madame? "

Meanwhile...

Christoph was obviously surprised. He wasn't expecting to see an AI hiding under such humane appearances.

" Et how and why did you manage to arrive here in Sirius, madame? "

He took a short break, so that he could await for Yriam's response, only so that he could continue with:

" Excuses-moi for pointing this out but you want to learn about how economy works. I suppose I can help you with this, but you must know that I will do it only if you can guarantee me that it will follow the Commonwealth's interests. I think the Council would be interested in hearing what would the Aurigae be able to offer and to be honest, I am also interested as well. "

Before he could add anything else, Christoph found himself interrupted by the Colonial which overheard their conversation.

He took a more... widened position on his seat, not daring to interrupt the Colonial, so that the he could notice him aswell, so that this notification could only be followed by a typical greeting from both the individuals.

Noticing the two men now equally intrigued in her origins, Yriam simply chuckled for a brief moment. She then shook hands with Tennyson and started explaining, turning her view between the two, repeatedly.
I imagined our arrival would have been a bit more known, since we sent an open transmission in the entire area known as the "Taus". Still, that is of no importance.
She took a small pause and thought about how to enlist her kind's history in a summarized manner.
Simply said, my kind was created eons ago by an advanced, humanoid, race which lived, or perhaps still lives, in a different side of the Milky Way Galaxy. Still, about 5 years ago - due to a large number of reasons, the most important one being evolution - we have decided to find our own path in this universe.
We began our voyage on-board a vessel we called the "Aurigae-M", but roughly 6 weeks ago we arrived in Sirius and sadly ended up too close to a star. This lead to the crippling of our vessel and thus the need to settle here for the time being. Still, i personally believe that Sirius could become our home, if we work for it.

After she heard all of Roberts conditions, the assignment certainly got her interest. She thinks about the possibilities that his conditions imply. Discrecy, huh? Might be something illegal, but sometimes you even have to do that. They are really in need for money, otherwise they can't maintain the costs of their ship and get enough food and water at the same time. Even most of her personal savings are burned out because of that. Moreover, it seems that money doesn't play a role in this, so it might aswell cover the costs for the next months. That'll certainly be interesting.

"Fine for me, Robert. We uphold our contract standards of discrecy, and being late isn't my thing anyway."

She smiles slightly, leaving her glass alone this time. Her gazes shifts throughout the amphitheatre, looking for curious eyes observing their little talk, but she has yet to find one. There are only some figures in the 'distant' parts of this location, not really looking suspicious enough to demand her attention. She shifts her head towards Robert again.

"I'm listening."

His brows raised for a brief moment, but were soon put back in place.

"So, you've basically been trying to find someone to help you grow? How would most people know if your intentions are peaceful or not?" David said.

He looked to the man next to him, and shook his head. He had interrupted him intentionally, but it was still common courtesy to not say that.

"Ah, my apologies, sir. I hadn't noticed you were talking to her. David Tennyson, Colonial Movers." he said, as his hand extended outwards for a friendly shake.

RE: Freeport 10's "Sylvania Dome" - Enkidu - 06-10-2013

Achille’s typically exoteric smile tweaked up a degree as he noticed the ever-increasing number of punters drifting around the Sylvania dome. In any other environment they would be killing each other, natural apathy, but here? He grinned wryly. He had to hand it to the man, Lucky’s renovations had truly justified their expenditure. Besides... Achille wondered darkly, Any enterprise which steals into the Baffinites influential sphere is hardly injurious. If this perpetuates there’ll hardly be room to stand... A tall man brushed Achille, nearly dumping his drink over his shoes. ...Or breath to breathe.

“No harm done, I’m sure my friend”. Achille smiled like a sabretooth, before returning to returning to his rambles. ...And I came here to have a break... Deu, I feel like I’m stuck in an zoo where all the animals are perpetually pissed. And to think Robert’s in here... He shook his head. No doubt conspiring to overthrow the Sector, or the equivalent. Well at least some people don’t feel like an Outcast on Crete apparently...

A wisp of nearby conversation between three figures froze him tight. Sacre, a Collonial? Achille was immediately rapt. Certainly the man in the G-suit bore no resemblance to the gnarled savages which adorned some of the Gallic Royal Navy’s more creative recruitment posters.

“Excuse me my friends...” Achille nodded to the nearby Aurigae “...I’m loathe to interrupt your already convoluted dialogue, I’m sure, but I couldn’t help but be drawn to your conversations...”

"...Oh yes, I'm Achille Augustin Nadeau, but you don't really need to remember all that nonsense. Just call me Achille."

Having yet another person entering the conversation, Yriam chuckled once more and smiled at Achille, greeting him while observing the other two shaking hands.
Fear not, i do remember you. Being an "artificial intelligence" does have some advantages.
Then again - please, feel free to join our little talk. Perhaps you and Cristoph are the people i was looking for anyway.

RE: Freeport 10's "Sylvania Dome" - Enkidu - 06-11-2013

"I'm sure you do..." Achille grinned widely, before returning to a state of passible severity. Of course the Aurigae would remember me, stupid question, after that transmission such a while ago. He straightened his left cuff self-consciously, before turning exclusively to Yriam: "Is there something you wish to discuss Madame"? Of course, if you do actually maintain some semblance of gender... "Frankly, I'd be surprised if you didn't. Have something to discuss I mean. After the original tabling of my offer we have had so little a chance to communicate with each other; Aurigae to Commonwealth, and now you've moved your operations to the resident Freeport"? He gestured around him. "...I trust you find the atmosphere not too uproarious, no?"

RE: Freeport 10's "Sylvania Dome" - Eduard - 06-14-2013

Robert was pleased to know that Emilia was not reluctant to follow the policies. Still, trust was another commodity which assured the survival of the Commonwealth, and trust is not won only by mere words.

And that is why, Robert decided not to share the more... sensitive matters the Commonwealth had at this point.

" There are actually a few business contracts I may give you for a start, madame. Well... Business Contract is an improper term as such formalities care little in the edge worlds. " A short paused emerged in which Robert took a short gasp

" But then again, if we lose such values, what is left of us? Either way... Getting back on the matters at hand, I would like to inform you that the Freeport 10 finds itself in need of FloraGro as the flora in Sylvania Dome needs to be maintained and FloraGro would prove to be a very cost-efficient method for doing this. "

Robert paused. He wanted to take another sip from his glass and thus, he lunged forward to pick it only to notice that he emptied it not so long ago.

" Secondly, I have received notification that there is a significant number of passengers or crew members who would like to visit Freeport 10. I do not know the reason and I don't even think I need to know. The less you know, the healthier you are, non? " he grinned

" I can only assume they may be refugees, zoners, or people who would like to stay on a relatively safe station while they can undertake their jobs. Anyway, what do you think so far madame? "

RE: Freeport 10's "Sylvania Dome" - Johnathan Nox Carter - 06-14-2013

With the others probably lost in their thoughts, Yriam turned to Achille and answered with a tone similar to his.
True - i'm here looking to hopefully find a way to create a partnership between our... associations, so to speak. My colleagues have made some research on your "Biodome" and observed some requirements it has... one of which is organic sustenance. We've reviewed all the data-bases we could find... She took out a small tablet-like computer and began showing Achille some images and data. ... and we noticed this item known as FloraGro to be quite the perfect choice. Since we do have a few capable ships, we would like to offer our aid in transporting such commodities to your station, while you offer us financial aid.

She took a long look around the room, as if scanning the place, then turned back and continued.
On the other hand - we're more like researchers... so we were wondering if you could help us on that matter as well, point us to the appropriate people, if you get my point.
