Independent Miners Guild Comm System (GuildComm) - JonahC - 10-26-2011 ------Incoming Transmission----- Recipient: IMG| GMs Sender: Dr.Geoffe Lynchpin Sent From: Battleship Hood, Dublin Encryption: High Trusted Guild Masters, It is with great pleasure that I introduce to you the newest member of the IMG R&D team, Dr. Natalie.Vale! Her thesis on xenobiology is simply a must read! I think once we coordinate our thoughts on bio-mining technology, you will be amazed. She is also young enough not to have any biased leanings on the subject of "Alien Technology" which is something we are going to investigate fully. [attachmentid=717] She has recently graduated from Cambridge University with High Honors. I would appreciate it if you would perform any background checks neccessary to accept her as part of the team. Oh, and before I forget can you transfer the data from the wrecks of unfortunate miners involved in the recent attack by the Aliens known as the Keepers? If my preliminary checks are correct the efficiency of their weaponry is unparalleled! I would definitely like to research it further. ----------Ending Transmission Independent Miners Guild Comm System (GuildComm) - Nicholas Denmon - 10-26-2011 Comm ID: Nicholas Denmon Location: Java Station, Tau-23 Recipient ID: Jack Henderson Subject: Our Agreement Nick here, just wanted to say thanks for the place to lounge again. I have requested Mallory & Lambert Logistics to procure some items I need to get our endeavor underway. Some of these items are of a mundane nature. However there are a couple of artifacts of rare and powerful significance that they have gotten that would be extremely valuble to our agenda. They have asked me to negotiate a price for these artifacts and to be quite honest we cannot pass this opportunity up! Therefore I am offering a starting price of 50 million Sirius credits for these items. As well, I am sure you will agree with this much of the Guilds Money going into this research, safe delivery of these items is essential. I request at least 2 Gunboat class vessels and 2 or three Fighter class vessels be provided to escort the delivery vessel to Jakarta Station in Tau 39. I will be departing the Hood shortly and heading to Jakarta Station to rendezvous with the rest of the R&D Team. Contact me there to inform me of any new developments. The more money you spend on such things, the less money you will have for your actual expedition in the Omicrons. However, it is your call to make the decision. The IMG has already wired you the budget. As for the escorts, the IMG Tau Fleet is being contacted and a few escorts will be assigned in the mission. Regarding the alien technology, you have full access to our database. It's not much, however I am certain when you move to the Omicrons you will find much more information. Independent Miners Guild Comm System (GuildComm) - Silver-DNA - 10-28-2011 Com ID: Eddie.LaCrosse, Recruit Location of transmission: Bretonia, Cambridge, Cardiff Mining Facility Recipient: IMG/CR Encryption: Standard Subject: Report: Attacks on Cardiff Mining Facility, yesterday! Report: Yesterday as I stared to a patrol the area Cardiff Mining Facility, very shortly after my start i saw two Core Destroyers (one with Junker IFF (Cygnus.X1) the other without any IFF code (Helios.X22)) attacking supply ships and BAF ships in the vicinity and shortly there after firing from afar heavy weaponry at Cardiff Mining. Since I was only flying in my Eagle I called for help and tried to reason with the Core Vessels to move along (sadly to no avail one even did shoot at me once from afar with heavy weaponry. I was able to evade that), until help in form of my senior officer: call sign IMG|Cardiff. One, arrived and the HMS-Sherwood.Forest arrived. Since the AI controlled ships, where did neither respond to commands given to them to abort any hostilities and being a threat to all in the vicinity my senior officer and the HMS-Sherwood.Forest engaged. Since I was their 1st target, I was dodging fire till I was able to engage. At this point my shield was once annihilated to zip so I had to use my batteries to stay alive and in combat. The HMS-Sherwod with help of my officer was able to bring down the Cygnus.X1 which have been targeting me primary. After the pressure on me was gone we were together able to bring down the fleeing Helios.X22 as well. I took position above Cardiff Mining to review all data and download it to Cardiff's mainframe for later reference and re-view by me while my senior officer IMG|Cardiff. One was handling the aftermath of the battle with the HMS-Sherwood.Forest and other BAF members that had arrived shortly after this indecent. I was half way trough the process of it, as I looked up again I saw Nomad ship form from the Keshwick Cloud moving to into my direction and trough the Tradelane of Jump Gate to New London an Outcast destroyer arriving at the end of the Tradelane. (I never saw a Nomad ship before that big) The Nomad ship (labelled Ishkur) tried at least two times to tamper with my brain it seams. I had strange visions and couldn't concetrate on the rest of processing the data to Cardiff. In the meanwhile IMG|Cardiff. One and the HMS-Sherwood.Forest commander took a heated debate about that Outcast destroyer (labelled: MNS-Razorspine) which was to our surprise allowed in Bretonia. I informed my senior on a secure channel about the political consequences this would had for the IMG. having an allowed Outcast destroyer in Bretonia due losing a conflict with Kusari is one thing but it is a complete other thing to allow an outcast destroyer near an IMG Facillity in Bretonia space knowing that this is a major affront against the IMG and to put it in an euphemism, not a very bright idea to let two mortal enemies come so close together. I must confess, the fast escalation of things did surprised me. and I'm still at loss how and why things then escalated. In the meanwhile my senior had disrupted the trade lane and the outcast destroyer fired, I wasn't able to make out at what hit me because I was having a hard time evading again. In this my shield was hit two times and having only 4 shield batteries, due to the prior battle left, which I used to compensate the loss of shield power. So I assumed I must be hit by the Outcast destroyer, because the only firing parties where IMG|Cardiff. One and the MNS-Razorspine (the Tradelane was still disabled) so I engaged in self-defence.The next thing I know is waking up at Cardiff some hours ago. It seams the destroyer got my Eagle good and the ejection system saved my life. The MD at Cardiff is not letting me in a cockpit today The political situation is bad enough having Bretonia openly supporting Outcasts and admitting it and letting an Outcast Destroyer in the direct vicinity of IMG property in knowing fairly well this can only escalate in a political dangerous situation in that end outcome Bretonia and the IMG are the losers and the Kusari and Outacts are the winners. I know we don't take sides in the Bretonia/Kusari conflict, but these incidents show clearly a political outline of political mismanagement or far more worse a first major move against IMG. I'm writing this report in the hopes that the other Guild members support the situation of Cardiff more, because it seams a lot of guild members take the situation too lightly having these kind of "unfriendly" vessels in the direct vicinity of Cardiff Mining facility, means they are only one jump away from Aland Shipyard.. Now fellow guild members I leave you to think up the rest for yourself, Good day! I have exciting news! Dr.Vale and I got our mobile laboratories equipped and decided to embark on the first stage of our Journey. It was quite the harrowing experience, to be sure! We departed from Jakarta, and made a stop at Battleship Hood to pick up a few things. Then we proceeded on to Freistadt Base. Then the fun began. We decided to take a trip through Omega 5 then Omega 41. The neutron star there is as beautiful a sight as any I have seen. From there we proceeded to Omicron Theta. We stopped at the Freeport there, and repaired/resupplied our vessels, as well as got news from the locals. It was here we met the Captain of the Arlais, a Zoner Juggernaugt. Arlais had heard of a place where there is abundant Iridium deposits and agreed to show us where it was, as well as escort us through Omicron-74. He told us that to go through 74 unescorted would mean certain death unless we ask the Omicroners for permission. On the other side of the system was a Jump Hole to a system the Zoners call Omicron Kappa. We were attacked by none other than the Nomads! Arlais informed us that these were only the inexperienced ...beings, not the elite units that sometimes make it as far as Dublin. It was quite a relief I can tell you! And I learned something else, Dr. Vale is quite the pilot, she dispatched several of the Nomad vessels with ease! Here are the surviellance pictures of our encounter: We were able to beam in the remains from some of these vessels, for further study. Thank goodness Arlais was with us! And finally we made it to Omicron Delta, where we found a large field of Iridium! I am including the location of this field and a scan of both the Iridium samples and the Nomad remains. I will keep you apprised of any new developments or discoveries. Looking forward to more fieldwork in the days to come! We would like you to increase your research in Omicron Delta and Omicron Kappa by either exploring by yourselves and asking for more information from the local zoners. These iridium deposits sparked our interest and we would like to know if there is anyone who already exploits them. Furthermore, we would like to know which other entities can be encountered in these remote systems aside from Zoners and aliens. As a final note, if you regularly use the Omicron-74 system, we can send a message to the Omicroners and try to procure a permanent passage for your team. |
