The future of mining? - Chev - 03-03-2011 People are leaving because mining is turned off? My Gods! Wash your brains, people! That won't change a thing. Let's wait for weekend, then students will return from dorms and other people will be having more free time, I bet the server will be full again. This is how people are reacting to changes. Instead of giving opinions and trying to look for a new activity they saying "No U!" and leaves... the server won't advance... NEVER. If players won't watch at everything more critically. Devs are trying their best to improve the gaming here, to make it more challenging... For me easy moneys =/= fun. It's supposed to be challenge = fun. I can't see no fun in game where every noob is flying capship. Making moneys only because they WANT to have max of them and don't socialize at all. And after all, those "Selling ore 5k"; "BUY MI ORRRE, ПОЖАЛУЙСТА" and other messages are pretty annoying in system chats. I remember there was group of players who were killing those who making these "ads" in system chats. I'm not sure about RP of these players, but you know what? I don't care, I even wanted to join them (or donate, perhaps), to make sure that they'll continue their mission. So, stop whining an complaining how mining is awesome and how good it is. Everyone became so capital-whores here because it. Give some food to trading or pirating. That's all. CHEVALIERISH ADD-ON: As far as I seen, only newbies are leaving (and I don't think that will be for long time). There will arrive new players who even doesn't know anything about mining and even won't know about it has existed. Veterans, whom already played versions, when mining didn't existed will continue playing, because they realize that there's much more stuffs to do. Saying "TURN ON MINE OR I LEAVEZ" won't help. Don't make hostage drama here. This RP server, not "make more credits than someone else in fast". It's supposed to be RP. The future of mining? - Jack_Henderson - 03-03-2011 ' Wrote:But this could really hurt numbers. It really hurts people, it hurts roleplay and thus it hurts numbers. It's no "could". It's a fact that every active member of a mining faction can see. You hurt the wrong people, admins. You mainly hit the roleplayers in mining. The lolwutters do not care. They are not even present in here. They just logged off again or logged on a pewpew account and went on to the other stupid meta-activity next to mining and trading... shooting. Answer to all those ignorants who do not understand that there is roleplay attached to mining and who say that people should adapt and quit whining: Why not disable guns (they cause a lot of disruption and sanctions)? And, hey, you pewpew-factions, man up and adapt. Guns... pf... no one needs it as a pirate/military/merc faction. Just... become traders. Or... just roleplay that the NPCs do the shooting and you can focus on real roleplay. Wouldn't that be good for you? And good for admins? No sanctions, all peace. Ahhh... wait a minute... the fun would be gone because a relevant part of the game has been disabled? Really? Hmmmmm.... Heck, we didn't expect that to happen with only 9366678 people depening on the activity for a part of their enjoyment. Keep sarcasm in case you found some. Only a 5k transport as my biggest ship. Now I haul only, and I got about 150mil, I could of gotten a gunboatm, but I didnt, because I make other chars that are fighters/bombers etc... You have in your post, only insulted those who do RP as a miners. I have RPD with jack, IMG, BMM to get my ore, and all is fine as it was. Just mining mod turned off, means these two factions will die out, and its allready visseble. The RP made between IMG/BAF, MR will be non existant if that happenent. To the mods: Stop being biased and stop removing posts that are having points in them! And another day men from goverment come, and tell you, that you can no longer have this business of yours, though it was 100% legal. I would buy a gun on the rest of the money, and start a revolution. The future of mining? - Knjaz - 03-03-2011 ' Wrote:<SKIP> Generally agree with everything but this. I somehow feel it will encourage pirates for "EverythingOrDie" requests, cause potential profits will be huge. PTrans gankfests etc. As a result, tons of frustration etc. Although, if the ore prices will be a bit lower and mining process faster (second to reduce frustration caused by the losing significant amount of time, first to keep server economy balanced after increasing drop rates) it will extenuate the negative consequences of enhanced lolwutpiracy. Probably The future of mining? - tyro - 03-03-2011 I invited some friends to this server. I suggested that I give them money for ships and show them trade routes. I said, they will not have to pay money back, if they from time to time perform some RP supplies. effect? ... they did not agree, because a mining gives more and easier money for next ships. I blame mining mod. It could be back on, but only as profitable as trading, not 3x more. It is currently off, so stop whining and go trade. Even mining factions can trade minerals and metal which they have in their bases. Making activity more widespread. A nice suggestion. I approve of this The future of mining? - muhic - 03-03-2011 ' Wrote:It is currently off, so stop whining and go trade. Even mining factions can trade minerals and metal which they have in their bases. But still ... without mining??? What about BMM, ALG, GMG, Junkers(mining scrap metal - cleaning the universe of junk) and some other factions? We have to think about RP (role play) and getting rid of mining isn't exactly a progress - DON'T YOU THINK? The future of mining? - othernation - 03-03-2011 Nice. The only thing that we have to do, the RPingcholic guys scream for turn off. While I was a miner was the time of the RPing for me, because always, every time there were pirates in my way. When I was a trader, my first encounter with pirate was after 50 hours of gameplay. Turn off the miners, but please feel free to add more routes, more things to charge AND the prices truly profitable ... there are no routes from 30 million to the freighter, and there should be other up to 50 Millions in 5000 to over ... No problem if I had to complete a lap on sirius since that was TRULY profitable ... everyone needs credit for that hamper the gain? Since "less money" is even "more RPing? If you have things to sell at prices truly high, then there will be a really effective methods to be able to acquire the property. Capitalism is everywhere. In Freelancer is no different. You have to accept it. And no-miners plz stop crying |
