The Colonial Republic Feedback Thread - swift - 03-08-2010 Thank you for the info. As you know, those are pilots on trial, and due to our long term attempts to better the population of our side in the Taus, we recruit without a very high standard. That's no excuse for him, however, and unless he improves or accounts for his behavior properly, he'll probably end up as a washout. But the main goal is to make a good player out of everyone - not all of us were geniuses when we started out, including yours truly. The Colonial Republic Feedback Thread - arvg - 03-09-2010 I have to give you lads credit. In the past week I have seen a concerted effort by the CR to abide by the rules, to RP more, and to have more fun. I decided to create an indie character and sit at Java station awhile to see the other side of the coin. To watch the RP, and to observe without being shot at. It was a pleasurable experience. I watched a fair fight between several of your pilots and the Cartel, managed efficiently by the officer in charge. I saw a number of large capital ships staying clear of the fight, and training. Everything was on the up and up, and a marked turn around from before. Thank you for that. I am sorry I ever doubted you, I look forward to more A class RP from you in the future. The Colonial Republic Feedback Thread - swift - 03-09-2010 This statement from you comes as a nice and welcome surprise, arvg. Thanks, seems I might've misjudged you yet. Looking forward to continued quality game time and (Of course, out of RP only) good relations. The Colonial Republic Feedback Thread - arvg - 03-09-2010 You guys deserve it. Some times it is a matter of gaining a new perspective, and affording a chance to other players (as Ivan posted above) to make a difference. I know I would want the same were it my faction. Thank you again for the positive RP experience, and the fair play. The Colonial Republic Feedback Thread - Armageddon - 03-09-2010 Well recently we have been attempting to filter out such things as OORP. We have become much harsher on the enforcement of both the rules of our faction and the rules of the server itself. I am glad to see that these measures are having an impact on our members. However i would go back to the issue raised on the Gold-3 pilot by Tabris Quote:Today i was disappointed yet again, Gold-3 after we beat him back onto Java started to use OOC IN SYSTEM even though we warned him not to, TWICE, he ignored it. Please FORCE your pilots to read the Discovery Server Rules. Make it MANDATORY before they are allowed to fly, because really. It's quite annoying to see OOC in system instead of a PM or in Group, destroys RP and just makes you look like idiots. Please refer to my statements placed above on this matter. I would also like to point out something further: As a faction we do not discriminate between any applicant. As long as they have not had previous history with the admins before attempting to join us. We accept both new and old players with varying degrees of RP and PVP ability for a trial period. These are the 'colour' ships you see flying around. Now to proceed upto the next level and the gaining of thier own callsign they must prove to our high ranking members that they have an acceptable amount of roleplay skill. This is done by reports on our private boards and (i think) our message dump here. The aim of this is to give every player who applies the oppertunity to learn how to react on an RP server. As long as an applicant is willing to learn I and my fellow CR will assist them. I say this, not to exempt these training pilots from any negative feedback or punishment if they do something wrong. But to say that there can be a massive skill gap between 2 different recruits. I know that this is worthwile and does succeed, but it can sometimes take a lot of time to do so. I am certain the Gold-3 would already have been spoken to about this feedback. Though i will of course ask if it has been resolved. The Colonial Republic Feedback Thread - mang109 - 03-22-2010 Hail CR I will begin with the many positives: I love RPing with you, I have many characters , and many of these interact with you in T23. You meet me most often on my IMG [D] ships and working with you is always a pleasure. You also frequently save my Miner, which is much appreciated. 99% of you are perfect, and I can ask no more from you. Now, sadly, onto the negative. And I apologize that the size of this will look like it outweighs the positives- but I assure you it is only a blip. A blip however that has made me very annoyed several times. My most recent faction, is mainly based in T23. We tend to fly in Mining vessels or IMG Capital ships. We RP these Capital ships as colony vessels that avoid conflict unless absoloutley necessary since they are only refurbished wrecks. We always make this very clear. Occasionally, people do need our assistance, and if asked, and if there is little risk to us, we will move the Caps away from Java. on several occasions recently the CR have been confronted by OC capital vessels or large numbers of fighters. On both these ocasions I have moved my Argus slowly from Java to nearer ( 6k maybe) the battle lines. I always politely offer the CR assistance. On one occasion I had CR members pleading with me to engage, while another CR angrily yelled " STAY OUT OF IT <Faction Tag>" in system chat ( maybe not exact words, but definitley caps lock) another occasion: Situation: Outcast BS in T23 Location: Near T37 Hole Backstory: OC BS and GS appear in T23, I remain at java while the CR fighters/bombers chase them off. The GS runs. The BS doesnt go. It becomes clear that the CR are going to have to eliminate it Events: I offer to cover the T37 hole to be sure that he doent run / call in reinforcements- the offer is accepted and I move over to the hole.Rping all the way. As I suspected, the BS made its way to the hole. I have prime firing position, its shield are down and I have 2 Mortars and 2 Missiles ready to go at it and its in range. I begin RPing up to fire- and my RP is good, it always is. Ive been RPing since the pair appeared, and am very much involved in the activity, just not the actual engagement yet. 2k out, and Im ready to fire. I am then yelled at by a new CR ,who I have not yet spoken to , who tells me to back away and not to fire. He repeats the order several times. Confused, I obey this order ( and it was phrased very angrily) and go back to java The BS goes to T37, some CR bombers persue it, and kill it. Conversations with other CR at java reveal confusion as to why I was suddenly yeleld at to back off. And just now: An outcast storta appears with some friends . The CR move in and are clearly dealing with it. Myself and another <faction member> are watching the fight from almost 10k away, just RPing in local chat about staying near Java, ready to assist if needed etc etc. We have no intention of joining in, we dont risk our Caps unnecessarily. Suddenly one of the CR is yelling " STAND DOWN IMMIDIATLEY <Faction Tag>", we politley inform again that we are not even engaged and have no intention to. So I ask you : Why such unwarranted hostility? It makes me really angry that we are treated as lolwutting idiots even as we do the exact opposite . We all have Caps- BUT WE DONT WANT TO USE THEM IN UNNECESSARY BATTLE. and I feel we make this very clear. Now please recall my first statements, and remember that this issue is but a blip. A blip that I would like to see adressed if possible however. The Colonial Republic Feedback Thread - Armageddon - 03-22-2010 Greetings, now would you care to offer the names of the said members involved in these incidents if you have them? I will look into it anyways and ask around but it always helps to know who to ask the questions to... I may point to that some members' RP's involve them being pretty much constantly hostile but you can normally tell those from those who are being sort of OORP hostile. Anyways get me the names if you have them... feel free to PM me if you wish. I will have a look into it now. The Colonial Republic Feedback Thread - Atreides2 - 03-22-2010 Well , there is a small problem . I was the one that yelled at you today with the destroyer not to come. Reason. Was confused during the fight , We already had the bombers there and while we moved towards you , seemed to me that you came to engage as well. That is why i said , stand down. The Tau 37 Hole. Well , i think that i can explain that as well. You getting in the fight would not be so good , especially when we already have the bombers on it . It would really unbalance the fight. Again Confusion during the fight. If you got yelled was prolly because of the confusion during the fight , for which we apologize. The Colonial Republic Feedback Thread - Malaclypse 666 - 03-22-2010 Ya done good today a skosh back at Freeport 10. [TAZ]Templar.Daleth |
