My fix would be to adjust the mining fields so that no field is closer than 25k to a station.

PURGE ESSEX PURGE ESSEX PURGE ESSEX PURGE ESSEX PURGE ESSEX

Ye, that might help, because right now a single pirate can't beat a CAU8 full regen heggie if the heggie just thrusts home to Essex and camps it until the pirate gives up and leaves the system. Good RP (y)

Well ye, bases too close to mining stop can be annoying, like in Omega-7. That's why i love O11 - nowhere to go except to the sun, and if pirate's in PT, it's not going to help.

AND: to all who think mining should be made harder by giving more advantage to pirates

Wrong again, completely.

Don't push the scales in favour of the odd pirate who works alone, because he is as bad in terms of no-rp as the silent miner.

Roleplay is teamplay.

You punish miners for "doing it wrong".

Don't reward pirates that are far more disruptiv lolwuts by putting more disadvantage on the mining people.

A single fighter can't take out a Hegemon that has invested 800 000 000 in his protection? Fine! This is what it should be like.

Give the solo pirate a chance to wear people down? No.

If you want to solve the problem of "non-roleplayers" not roleplaying in a roleplay game, act on all parts of non-roleplayers.

Pewpew-factions and indies.
Pewpew-pirates
Silent traders

and do not focus on the silent miner whose only fault is to use system chat to say that he will sell his ore (by doing that he actually roleplays), more than many people do that belong to the player circles I critizised and who would love to see mining abolished or made harder.

Don't get me wrong: Mining can be altered, nerfed, buffed, I don't care much. But it has to exist because people like it and because it added to the game, because things (factions, roleplay) developed due to it and mainly because you never take people away their beloved toys in a game. You add new toys, if you see that the old ones were not perfect.

Turning the mining mod off - or nerfing mining - or whatever - to "cure" RP problems is based on the assumption, that these problems are connected solely to mining, droprates and ore prices.

Hardly nobody has challenged that assumption, but I will. Just as Jack Henderson has earlier. The mining mod has as little to do with RP problems as wolfs howls has to a New Moon.

I recent - also as a privat person and a leader of men - this action, which only lets innocents suffer for the faults and misbehavings of others.

I any case: the result of the poll is already clear. I call upon the admins to act accordingly. I hope, that the poll does not turn out to be a mockary of those of us, who actually work hard to make everything work online.

Move forward again - instead of backward.

Oh the lawful vs pirate hate. It burns in all of us! : )))))))

Thing is Jack, I want to have fun in Dublin, instead of having to camp Leeds JH and doing a lot more cruel things then what I would've done in dublin with my Corsair. Now I don't mind mining, I just want less **** around it, al right? I'm tired of CAU8 miners camping Essex and not willing to pay a single million when they earn more then ten times more per single hold.

And to why I fly alone? Because I can't call my friends all the time. Some of them are busy, y'know? And I usually pirate just to make a million or two, not earn my battleship like most lolminers. But I'm the bad guy, so I should be hated, stomped on and so on. Oh the Essex love they give me.

Truth is I don't even visit Dublin with my pirate anymore. It sucks beyond any comparison for a pirate. You can't imagine how much they love to gank us just so they can mine without loosing that single million. : )))))) Oh the love!

Its ashame really, So many problematic players for a few professional miner. I understand were trying to nerf the mining profit yet again ( while I find the profit to be quite ''large'' already) It may reduce the use of these player kind, as I quite find them too common and not adding that much to the community/game.

While I do not oppose to the proposisions listed, the most useful addition would be new mining area, less profitable more more varied, the most profitable would be the isolated one, far from docking point and loaded with dangerous hazard ( I don't mean mass pirate fest in term of danger), In other words, in order to mine in the most profitable area you would have to get multiple players cooperating and also some kind of security forces, both on the mining zone and on the hauling.

The problem with mining and its popularity is because its relatively easy, cheap, and quite too much profitable once you are aware of it. In other words, the OORP more popular mining zones are In Rp less valuable as the ressource mined there is not rare on the market.

While some house corporation are in their house, they would balance wise keep superior mining speed and protection from ''military'' and an overall superior haling potential. On the other hand, they could also survey occasionaly outside their standart zone.

In the same fashion IMG, GMG and potential Semi-neutral group like hessian could be scarce but better surveyor/ expedition gorups and will get their profit by slowly mining rare ressource mainly outside house space. To some extent they keep numerous operations within house space yet being inferior productivity wise and they are more on their own for security.

Another thing is - I haven't seen miners with escorts in a while, why should pirates be in bigger numbers if miners go solo? Just employ a healthy bit of escort there, miners, and you'll be fine even if the nearest base not 25K away but 30.

/Finds whoever voted 'Leave it off' and hits them hard on the head with a Q_Q club

You just snuffed out countless of rp probabilities.
This is crap. This is just dumb.Just because of some people this kind of stuff gets implemented.
You can say I'm Q_Q'ing but you know what?I don't mine. And you know another thing? If it wasn't for Q_Q this stuff would NEVER have happened.
Why do I care then?Because now some of my roleplay probabilities have been destroyed.I was working on a rp 'project' which I thought I could pull off with the mining stuff. But no,because of 'mining problems'
If people can't mine, they can trade. Then all these 'mining problems' would probably just become 'trading problems'.
No lolwut miners? Then there will be lolwut traders. If you turn mining off, they will go to trading. They want to get their Battlesheep so that's what they'll do if you force them to quit mining.Or even worse, these people become stupid and pirate for INSANE AMOUNTS.
So what happens if 'trading problems' get too big and people Q_Q about them? Are you gonna turn trading off?Don't forget trading occurs all over the server. So everyone would be lol'ing EVERYWHERE.Not just Dublin or precious little Omega-7.
'sarcasm' Wrote:Oh I have a question. If trading gets turned off and mining is also turned off.People will resort to pirating. But pirating who?Other pirates. No more lolbattleships so that would be very good won't it?
/rant off.

Afraid of Ptrans? Bring your Akegata/Shire and blast the hell out of it. Gankboats are much more dangerous - but they at least can`t steal your ore due to limited cargospace.
