HACKERS ARE BACK! - Fletcher - 07-06-2008 Ah proxies, my College technicians hated us using them to get around website bans. But somehow they tracked us down through the proxies. No idea how. Maybe admins should ask around in technician sites to see how to track you down through proxies? I have been twice, even at home. I am being wary everytime I enter Liberty these days. I only have one ship going there a few times a day at most. These kids are idiots. Maybe ask other server admins how they would go about blocking these guys? EDIT: Admins, search for the most popular Proxy sites, and ban their IP's or something. Is it that simple? HACKERS ARE BACK! - X-Lancer - 07-06-2008 just Ban all Proxy server's IP range...if you are using a Proxy server to play FL...that's too bad for you...because i dont think there are any Organization that filtered Discovery FL server's IP..(except in school..or may be some company) HACKERS ARE BACK! - Stucuk - 07-06-2008 No company or school should be filtering out indevidual server ip's unless they notice alot of trafic is going to it. Tho noone should rearly be playing FL at work anyway and noone should be able to get away with playing a fullscreen game at school (When i was at school it was hard enough to keep the teachers finding out we were playing web games let alone a proper game). HACKERS ARE BACK! - Zero755 - 07-06-2008 Isnt there a way to Kick/Ban a player that has a weapon refire rate that is above a certain Level say greater the the Chain Guns? That way every time they open fire they get auto banned. HACKERS ARE BACK! - worldstrider - 07-06-2008 I moderated an open source game and a few years ago we had a really bad hack sweep for some time. I was finally able to isolate an isp for one of them and contacted them by phone with all the info. They forwarded me an apology from the person the next day and suspended all internet access to his home address for one year. Never had the problem again. If you can get the information, that's the best route. you computer is a web server and they are using an isp to hack it. They take that pretty seriously. HACKERS ARE BACK! - X-Lancer - 07-06-2008 if someone is smart enough for programming..can we have a FL Anti-cheat Discovery server ONLY version? HACKERS ARE BACK! - RonG777 - 07-06-2008 Look, I'm not no computer expert, to say the least, but I do feel that the Admin team is working on this as we speak. I feel that it is going to take some time. I know this is a pain..(I just got killed twice tonight by these flippin jerks), but all will work out in the end.. HACKERS ARE BACK! - Coin - 07-06-2008 Characters: OHITHAR, aka Mike.Hawk Alleged infringements: Weapon hacking, speed modding Fired on me outside manhatten, without warning or provocation, and then ran for the colorado jumpgate. refused to return to manhatten for an equipt scan - lavablades shouldnt be able to dent a class 8 sheild, never mind destroy a ship in four blows. No time to take screenies, but another player (sorry, forgot his name) tagged him, and tried to follow his starflea, but was suspiciously quick; Screenies taken of speed-modding. Perhaps it was a stray coupla shots by an npc, perhaps there is another explanation, perhaps he had a reason to decline my very polite request to submit to an 'inspection for contraband weaponry' (im getting GOOD at this RP!), and perhaps im the easter bunny. If you see him, scan him, and look for some powerful lavablades Edit: screenies (thanks to RonG777) Coin HACKERS ARE BACK! - Varyag - 07-07-2008 I have seen these guys a few times now. They are on for about an hour every day at about the same time. Just avoid them like the plauge. I just stick to Cali TX and CO durring that time. I think nothing short of a 24/7 admin will keep them from the server completely. Kinda sucks but it is the trueth. I would be cautious about demanding banning IPs from proxi servers. Some countries block IPs and these proxy servers are the only way for a lot of people to get out. May keep those people off of Discovery. HACKERS ARE BACK! - Guest - 07-07-2008 They could do what Tinkerbell mentioned.... It is within their capabilities and rights afterall. They are gaining unauthorized access to a private server (Since they have been banned). As X-Lancer said, anyone using a proxy to play online games, clearly has something to hide. Weather its them cheating on the game they are playing, or playing it in a location they are not allowed to play games in such as school or work. |
