RE: Remove Omicron-81 (And buffer systems in general) - Remilia Scarlet - 12-19-2013 Never was to Alberta. Show some screens please. But I think the idea is cool. RE: Remove Omicron-81 (And buffer systems in general) - Highland Laddie - 12-19-2013 Quote:Like in Alberta. I like how the mining fields are in Tau-23, with smaller, more open areas on the fringes...and bigger, more claustrophobic asteroids closer to the actual mining spots. RE: Remove Omicron-81 (And buffer systems in general) - Luke. - 12-21-2013 I really should read mod discussions more. As a primarily Outcast player, I was shocked to see that the devs had decided to throw 81 in front of Alpha. I can see why it might be there but again, it's the InRP vs OoRP battle and RP is going to win due to the server essentially being exactly that. It is however, a major nuisance in terms of having to travel an extra system to find conflict in that area. We have Cali, sure but for convoys and the like, docking at Malta just makes sense. That is our home, after all. I don't know how anyone thought it was going to be a booster for activity in the Sigma's. GMG aren't exactly the most active and most of Kusari is pretty desolate. Corsairs are pretty much dead as well. A buffer system isn't going to make people log. It's going to do the opposite. As for the other systems like Lambda, Omega-9 etc...just trash them. No one's going to miss them. I don't fly in those areas much, it's more the Order, Nomads, Core etc who's opinions are more prominent there. However, if they're there for the sole purpose of making space feel vast? No. Unneeded. There are enough systems as it is. RE: Remove Omicron-81 (And buffer systems in general) - Govedo13 - 12-25-2013 This talk is like 3 years old. We wanted Eta the first buffer system removed and got second buffer system- Lambada instead. Now 3th and 4th and so on... the whole thing needs to stop because it trashed the mod. RE: Remove Omicron-81 (And buffer systems in general) - Lythrilux - 12-25-2013 This thread gains more and more votes everyday, I wonder when we'll finally get these buffer systems removed. It just shows that certain people have great skills and technical expertise, but lack Vision and comprehension of in-game processes, and that makes them only partially competent in what they're doing. Because, well, if you play something for a long enough time and begin to understand the way your environment operates, chances are that you'll be able to predict direct and indirect consequences of your actions with a good level of precision, which in return allows you to avoid making obvious mistakes. Something I find, at least partially, lacking in case of this Mod's devteam, during my stay here. Ofcourse, there's a chance that it's me who lacks experience to comprehend their actions, be it gunboats with 2.000/1500m range (in relation to current other ship stats) or those numerous buffer systems. I also realize that it wasn't always that way, and there was time when this mod was significantly more popular than it currently is, and I realize there was plenty of good recently done things as well, that affected both balance and gameplay in a positive way. I also understand that I might've been a bit too harsh here and D-Freelancer is a very time consuming project/game, that might prevent single person from comprehending every single little aspect of it - but that's what you got a team and community for. That's how I personally view things based on my experience in participating in other (not FL related) mod development (balancing.) RE: Remove Omicron-81 (And buffer systems in general) - 7AlphaOne1 - 02-02-2014 People , if you dont understand: first-lambda: Only way out for non corsairs and non-zoner/order ships to get to southern omicrons from kappa, and like a piracy hub, corsairs turn up, surround your trans/freighter/barge and start pirating or shooting. second - 81: I agree it should be made shorter, but if it was removed, what would happen to the children on Malta? All the fleets at valetta and malta need to have some time to respond and such third- omega 9: One of my favourites, Recent mess caused by IMG turned it into turf wars: daumann, wilde, order, bhg ,img and fp101 and cameron stuck between this RE: Remove Omicron-81 (And buffer systems in general) - Sava - 02-02-2014 Dude, these systems sucked action and fun from much better places. Community requests them to be removed basing on experience, so just trust us here. RE: Remove Omicron-81 (And buffer systems in general) - Lythrilux - 02-02-2014 Another thing that has a wide gap between the minority and the majority. RE: Remove Omicron-81 (And buffer systems in general) - Echo 7-7 - 02-02-2014 Well this thread sure is getting a little bit obsolete. Omega-9 is still very much up in the air. It's difficult to distinguish the opinion of the majority. |
