I'm using a laptop, so, the screen is 1366 x 768, when I put into the launcher, the screen cuts off large slabs, from the top & bottom, can anything be done to remedy this?

I'm thinking this is a problem with Freelancer in general. I know there are certain widescreen resolutions that do not work well at this point. Unfortunately, I think you just have to try out a few common widescreen resolutions until you get one that works well for you.

I changed it to 1024 x 768, then back, and, for some reason it seems to be alright. No idea why but, eh, it works. Cheers.

Discovery Launchpad requires setting it to run with Administrator privileges in the compatibility options on Vista/7, otherwise it throws up cryptic (for average users at least) errors and does not change the active account properly.
Normally, the program itself should detect the privilege level it runs into and inform the user if needed, offer to start itself with the proper level or even require it on load.
