Why? Because many people, players who have joined long after you yourself have, managed to do that. How are you any less capable than they are?

Why would one be required to write on the Forums to have good RP ingame? Just because people here have 6k+ posts does not mean that everybody has to in order to have fun in the game. I can RP all day long inside the game. If you sit on the forum and cant get yourself to set foot on the server then you wont ever get to meet the character. Then saying that he has not earned anything yet, is kinda short sighted. imho

Calm down man, it isn't worth it. You, me and others have explained the situation well. It isn't our problem that he doesn't want to understand.

I read: "Get active on the Forum or you cant expect to be treated as a human being ingame" ...
Thats just lovely

You come back from a break from 2013, three years ago. And you start off with a rant how roleplay is apparently dead. You have taken no time to readjust to the game enviroment or brush up on the changes to Disco in general.

Instead you come to the forum, yelling about the apocalypse because a player chose to shoot your unlawful character on their lawful character. That you, how dare those people, did not allow you to get out of an encounter unscathed. That you, flying your unlawful ship in the midst of the most active system in Sirius, the capital system of the most militarized house apart from Gallia, that your wannabe tough guy was taken out by the local law enforcement.

That is silly.

What previous interactions have you had with these people? Have you established your character to be a reasonable person? That they are not ''just a random criminal?''. No, you have done no roleplay to make that characters name known and you expect to be treated with a broad set of leeway? Do you perhaps want a large coke with that? You have, as it seems, made no effort to make your character known to the area you play in and expect to receive special treatment.

No. The players who shot you were acting in roleplay. It is you who could not accept that such an outcome is a possibility and a result of roleplay and now are making a fool of yourself on the forum. If that is your attitude, please save us from watching a grown man cry - the door is over there. Many players younger than you and less experienced than you seem to have done much better to settle in and have made their characters known to be fun to roleplay with regardless of their ID. You want to have these liberties without effort and by default. No, you get them by roleplaying. Something that you claim to be dead.

Change your attitude. You are in the wrong here.

What i don't understand is why our ranting about a certain state of the games community, which as you said may be true sometimes and not at other times, is seen as a personal attack by some. We did not accuse any of you of this behavior. Some here should wait a minute before they post a reply that may well be hurtful to others

Back in the days you could have a conversation with a pirate on how dangerous cardamine is for his body or why liberty ale is better than rheinbier...

You can RP with me and the AFC gang (angel)

self-promotion: We shall unleash the Party Ships Soooon!!!

RE: [Rant] The Death of RP - Jayce - 05-19-2016

Discovery is not a "high-roleplay" game.

Hell, Space Station 13 has better RP than this place, when it comes to most ingame interactions.

At least people there speak English.

RE: [Rant] The Death of RP - Thyrzul - 05-20-2016

Choosing an unlawful ID then being surprised that lawfuls treat you as combat target is like walking into Harlem in a KKK uniform and wondering why you get beaten up in 30 minutes. Consequences. Get used to them.

Unless you provide anything else than your ID as roleplay basis for your character, people will judge you by that. In case of lawfuls it means they hunt unlawfuls, because that's their job, that's their role, that's part of their roleplay. Don't be surprised that you aren't the only one wanting to roleplay here or that you have to face the consequences of your choices and actions. Don't like the consequences? Choose a different ID.

RE: [Rant] The Death of RP - Mephistoles - 05-20-2016

It is the roleplay of my aggressive, rude and somewhat violent zealot of a bounty hunter to viciously murder bad people on sight. (sun)

Guildmaster John "Mephistoles" Marshall doesn't take prisoners, nor is he interested in your story that he's heard 4,000 times before. (sun)
