This is my idea of system features after 5mins of thought (and 20mins of typing out ><"): System name: Australis Planets: Sydney (gas giant), with tiny moons named the other capital cities (seriously thinking of about removing Darwin, Canberra and Hobart though - prolly get too huge otherwise...). The infocard can say somthing like scientists are bewildered and have never discovered any other planets with this many moons. Perhaps in future releases, but not straight away, one of the moons can be dockable. Auckland (ice planet), with no moons. Infocard can say the surface is frozen methane, but the planet hasn't been explored/tested for mining viability.. Stations: All names with Australian origin. I'd personally keep it at 2 stations MAX (comon, you can't expect half the bret sleeper ship to have been Australian now.. No uber-populated system plz). So any two of these names... Border station Coober Pedy, Longreach station, Blackall station, Kalgoorlie station, Freemantle shipyard, Cockatoo Island shipyard (largest shipyard during WW2), Pinjara mining/minerals facility (named after Pinjara Refinery). Other features: Simpson dust field. For those unknowledgable, it's a desert in Australia - need I explain more? Pilbara asteroid field. Known as the biggest iron ore mine in Aus. If one of the new commods coming out in 4.85 is iron ore, this is perfect. Otherwise, make it a mix of copper, gold and silver (the commods the Olympic Dam mine digs out in SA) Uluru comet??? Can be found at the veeeeery edge of the system. Thing is, I haven't the foggiest on how to make a comet-like feature, especially for this game... Something like, an asteroid field thick as bugs on a bumper making it difficult to navigate to a planet or something. The prison idea is a good one, after all, Australia started out as a British penal colony. I think there should be a Border Station Darwin on the edge of a hostile area that gets caught in alot of crossfire since Darwin was the only Australian city that was hit by combat in WWII. |
