Golden Dragon Liner - chovynz - 06-29-2009 Germain watched curiously as the man exhaled and gave a slightly sarcastic reply. Germain motioned the one of the beautiful bar-women over and input a rather hefty tip into the mobile digital credit scanner. The woman bowed just a little at the large sum and moved away at Germain's gesture. Then Germain breathed a little himself. Alright Germain this is it. Germain opened the expensive bottle and slowly poured himself a drink then replaced the stopper. "Yes, I mean the Hokkaido Construction site. You know, I don't actually want to know the answers to my questions. I don't want to know what's on the other side. What I don't know, I can't tell, and I'm happier not knowing. I'd rather keep just blowing up asteroids and pulling boxes for Deep Space." Germain took a drink of the very expensive bottle, crossed his arms on the bar, and put his head on his arms. With his face hidden and voice muffled, he quietly uttered "All I'm saying is, if you have any influence with anybody that's involved, I *suggest* you check out those boxes in the docking area. Call it a gut feeling. I've transported boxes for many years now. I know boxes. These are not the usual boxes. Never know what type of vermin might get through the tightbeam lifesign scanners." With that Germain lifted his head, grabbed the closed bottle, and moved to get up. He took one step, then paused midstride. "That's all I know. I hope I've been talking to the right man. From here out, it's not my problem." Germain nodded once at the man and moved towards the door. Golden Dragon Liner - JRawk - 11-04-2009 Mazakatu Nagumo enters the ship's main lounge and awaits the arrival of Captain Madarame and the Black Dragon Society representatives . . . Golden Dragon Liner - FreelancerFanatic - 11-04-2009 The Golden Dragon Liner's amazing view was momentarily blocked by the passing of an equally beautiful yacht, the Akihabara. At a slow pace careful to avoid collision, it travelled out of sight towards the Golden Dragon's docking ports where it joined its orbit. A small Dragonfly then left the Akihabara and shuttled its captain to the Golden Dragon. Captain Madarame Ikki entered the lounge, followed by four men. They were dressed in black suits, wearing dark sunglasses and each carrying a katana with them. In contrast, captain Madarame was dressed in a traditional yukata, dark of color decorated with white leaves. He looked no older than 30, but his gaze was hardened like that of an elder man, yet his smile gentle like that of a friendly grandfather. He gestured to his men to find a place to sit nearby, as he respectfully waited to be received. Golden Dragon Liner - JRawk - 11-13-2009 "Konnichiwa, Captain". Nagumo stands to greet the visitor. "Let us begin our discussions. The others will be along shortly, but it hardly serves a purpose for either of us to waste our time, no?" One of the servants gestures towards a large table by the window. The two men proceed over, and sit across from one another. "Your operation sounds impressive, and what's more - it's ambitious. Ambition is something I can admire, for no true strength can be found without it. Nonetheless, the 'distractions' you offer compete directly with our operations here . . . you understand our concern, I'm sure." "What's more is that you raise your profile by targeting the Chysanthemum women. Given the extent of our business across Kusari it would be most unfortunate if the police were to feel the need to make some more examples for the press; or worse, that others - outsiders even - might presuppose that the Hogosha have a monopoly no more." There is a long pause. "My information tells me that you've been quite successful thus far, yes? No need to answer, I know it to be true. I want you to know that we have no love for those would-be women terrorists. They oppose the Emperor, Kusari, values . . . they would seek to rip the very fabric of this great nation apart. Truly it is only men such as us that can stop them, put them in their place." "That is why we've asked you here. We are very interested in what you're suggesting - but, as I've mentioned, there are some concerns. Some sort of compensation is on order if you're to operate in Kusari, certainly . . . and there is the potential to arrange supply as well, perhaps." "But most important of all, we must be convinced that you are a man of honour; if not, we can have no dealings." Golden Dragon Liner - FreelancerFanatic - 11-14-2009 Madarame stroked his chin in thought, then nodded slowly in agreement. "Your thoroughness is admirable." He leaned back in his chair, his hands folded in his lap. "I have no intentions of defying you. I am more than willing to surrender a percentage of the profits made aboard the Akihabara to strenghten our bond. I like to see myself as a philanthropist rather than a businessman. I have no interest in creating a huge enterprise.. On the contrary, the rehabilitation of Golden Chrysanthemums is a non-profit charity. It is merely funded by their work on board the Akihabara and the donations of their husbands when they get married." He opened his hands as if to show they were empty. "So you can certainly depend on a financial share.. Without your assistance there is no great future for this project. The Akihabara is a luxury cruise vessel, not a warship. Though I can capture a dozen Golden Chrysanthemum pilots a day, I can't haul in the great numbers or defend myself if any of their sisters try to free them. Not to mention the capture of more prominent members to set an example... I am greatly dependent on you." "Simply tell me what you require of me in exchange for your friendship." Golden Dragon Liner - JRawk - 11-25-2009 "I'm happy to hear you feel that way". The words are barely spoken as a small device at the hip of Mazakatu Nagumo begins flashing with a small but bright light. "You must excuse me, but it seems one of my brothers is in orbit. We have great interest in your proposal, and I must attend to this. Please make yourself at home, perhaps some of our fine spirits? I find it so difficult to talk business without." Nagumo gestures at the bar across the lounge, and before he has even fully stood, one of the bartenders jumps to attend to the table. . . . A considerable time passes before Nagumo returns. "I must apologize for the delay, but I do bring news. I have discussed this matter some with the others. It seems the question remains of fair payment. I must warn you this will not come cheaply - but it would depend on the revenues you generate. Without knowing that, I would have to charge you our standard rate. Before you ask me what the standard rate is, let me assure you that you cannot afford it." Nagumo smiles a thin smile. "Nobody can. So what'll it be? I'd say . . . perhaps 20 percent of gross, depending on size. Unless you'd rather negotiate a flat rate?" Golden Dragon Liner - Akura - 12-18-2009 A small boy entered, the scene, carrying a datapad, looking around in a confused state. He ran up to the nearest Hogosha and tugged on his sleeve, jumping up and down. "This man wants to speak to the boss!" the boy cried, pointing at the image of a Rogue on the datapad. Golden Dragon Liner - pipboy - 12-18-2009 The man looks at the small boy for a moment.. "Right, wait here please." He walks up a stairwell past two very large guards who look as though they'e never smiled in their life. A short time later he returns with a datapad. "Sign here," he hands the datapad to the boy, "your shipment is being loaded on to a transport called the Busu. It will meet your vessel near Ames in Kepler. Neither ship is to be escorted. Now get lost." The man takes back the datapad and pushes past the boy almost knocking him over as he walks away. Golden Dragon Liner - Akura - 12-18-2009 "Thank you sir!" The child scribbled on the paper, and ran from the room, back to whereever he came from. Golden Dragon Liner - TFinnegan - 12-18-2009 "Konban-wa" -Says the bowing man, his topknot flowing jet black hair almost to the floor. "Sumimasen, but I am looking for someone." -- He straightens, a Tokugowan half-smirk and a Fuchu Prisoner's mark beam from his serene face. "Finnegan-sama, Captain of the," -- He pauses, hides a look of displeasure, and continues, hands folded before him. "Junker vessel, The Wake, has gone missing. Some of his buso-senshi have asked on his whereabouts." -- His eyes dart around the crowded room, his head unmoving. "Giri demands that we do our best to locate him, as he has done some," -- His hand comes up to stifle a throat-clearing cough. "favors for certain Ido-matai in the past. A now deceased Hogosha comms officer has revealed nothing to us, aside from how many digits he could lose before he screamed." -- His akimbo stance slackens, as if this admission relieves a great weight. "Have any of you seen or heard anything? Time is of the essence, and misdirection will not be permitted." -- His right hand slides across his torso to rest loosely atop the hilt of his Katana. His right eyebrow arches as he looks about, waiting for an answer. |
