here is an alternative concept suggestion

here - one cannot say that its "not" kusarish. - but the model itself isn t as high quality as the other one. ( due to less time ) - it is also a lot larger ( larger even than the BHG bomber, which is one of the largest bombers [ not counting barghest & warren ] )

edit: i do NOT think we replace it for the beta - i just made that .. in case ... well, the negative comments exceed the 90% of all replies =P

personally - i like the other one ( that most ppl dislike ) much much more.

The nose isn't quite tapered as it should be, should be closed up.

It looks -extremely- light between the cockpit and the engine, like a sudden turn would snap the ship in half.

I do like the aesthetic aspects of it though, the ridges and the like are appealing.

That being said, for the purposes of being a military craft, the original trumps it.

yes - this alternative concept is the works of someone that doesn t care if it falls to bits. - the first concept is a sturdy workhorse.

about the joints - the dragon has such small joints, too. - the cockpit section is attached to the axis only with a very little bit of metal - the fin is attached to the axis with a similarily small bit - and the wings are just thin foils. - even the engines on the dragon dont really look like they can take a hard shaking. - but then... structural integrity is unknown in freelancer.

i still liked the original model better, the new one looks... ugly...

But, as was mentioned earlier, if we cant replace the kusari/dragon bombers with this model, use it for the Hogosha. They dont have a bomber yet... just give it similar balance to the bounty hunter bomber perhaps.

My suggestion would be large powercore, above average manuverability, but keeping the large-ish model/profile from the side.

Suggested infocard:

SB-108 "Ryusei" Hogosha Bomber
"The Ryusei was originally designed by Samura as a military grade torpedo bomber for the Kusari Naval Forces, but the project was abandoned in favor of the Catamaran design currently in use. Rather than letting the design go to waste, the Hogosha provided funding to Samura to have the Ryusei constructed for their own purposes. While generally considered large and lacking the finesse of other Kusari ships, the Ryusei has heavy armor, a large power generator, and ample firepower."

:D

The models shown in your inital post are great. nuff said

this new one would fit for a HF for me (HF with 2 torp slots that is), it looks weaker than chimaera in every aspect.

I still like the one on the first side.

@ Tenacity it's more the other way, we have to replace the catamaran as the current one proves impossible to balance. At the point when it gets so large that fighters can fight it properly, it's so big that caps rape it.

I like the kusari bomber replace, but despite peoples hate of it, it can easily be replaced in future. Whats important now is that the old one is removed entirely from the mod, whatever peoples attachement to it, it is a horribly unfair ship and is abused many, even unintentionaly. Whats more is it makes pvp unfair as a whole in kusari, and if pvp isnt fair, then noone does it.

my view: replace the old cat, and fix the new cat for a later version.

What the Hogosha need is a large power plant yes as we don't have any official cap ships, but it does also need to be very manauverable aswell.

And Jinx, they are all great in their own way but I liked the first 2 models best, don't like the bits hanging down on that last one. I think your doing an amazing job!

hate to spoil any hopes - but its most and only about the catamaran replace. - there are no plans for the hogosha to get ships. - so far, we ll stick to the first suggestion i think - despite its low popularity - we ll have to check out the balance with it in public.

and yes - it can be improved / adjusted if the size / shape works out to be OK. - but later

The first proposed cat could fit, but the nose is way too long and should be shortened. It should also follow a somewhat continuous slope.

model is
__/

but would be better

right now it kinda look like Pinocchio
