During a patrol in Omicron Zeta, accompanied by 2 of our brethren, Hyperion.K<SOM> and J.Escalera, we faced some minor Order patrols. There was no problem on it, until the arrival of a couple of Nomad vessels, Kotharat and Hahcus.

K’hara configuration vessel Hahcus taunted us with immediate aggressiveness, referring us as “pawns” of Dark Husks, breaking the neutrality truce. Ultimately, without further ado, they engaged us and we defended ourselves. Hyperion dealt a killing blow to Kotharat, but unfortunately, J.Escalera and our ship were disabled during the fight.

As of now, considering that K’hara showed lack of diplomacy and no understanding whatsoever about what neutrality involves, pact with K'hara is no more. Their meddling in our affairs is enough, we will not subjugate to their desires. In the recent days, we were killing Liberty vessels and we had no real interest to occupy the Nomad worlds or getting in the middle of their goals, but they constantly went into our home system and insulted us. No more, this will be their final insult, to all Malta Hyperspace Starfleet: Engage and eradicate all of them.

No mercy.

Buen día:

In an attempt to recover information regarding Cardamine routes, El Cid commanded by Isabel Montalban and me, in the Fatalidad Inevitable, made a patrol that resulted in the interdiction by a Corsican vessel, designation UC/-Splusione-Annacqua, nearby Texas Jump Gate in New York system. The Unione Corse malefactor intended to provoke us, referring the Corse’s willingness to expand the Nox commerce and fill the market with the drug. After his inadequate babbling some local forces arrived, mostly from Liberty Police, Navy and Bounty Hunters Guild. Furthermore, the police with the codename Charming Avenger called for backup, but they arrived after the Unione Corse bomber decided to make the worst mistake and engage our destroyers. The engagement ended abruptly, as the enemy took the choice to ram and explode himself with his own ordnance on the top of El Cid.

The situation seemed solved, but the reinforcements arrived: A battlecruiser, LNS-Starlight, arrived and tried to repel us. The onslaught was manageable, until the arrival of Liberty Carrier Alpha_1-0. The battle culminated with our systems completely damaged and we retreated from that space.

Unfortunately, the bad news have not finished, as our ship suffered additional damage during the survey in Roussillon system. Reconnaissance has shown an active Maquis movement in the area and as we gathered data, we found a trio of Front de Libération de Gallia ships, [FLG]Boucher's.Jag, [FLG]Roussillon.Fiend and [FLG]Savant; 2 bombers and a fighter, respectively. Moreover, another gallic reached the area, MdG/-Jade.Paris, and took her place as spectator. After a hostile conversation referring the Maquis helping Crayter, fight started. To our disgrace, we could not hold our presence there and we were disabled during the encounter.

The ship has received enough stress in the recent circumstances and it will require deep repairs in Corsica Complex, but it has proved sufficiently resistant to endure long scouting trips and I personally appreciate the gesture that Alpha Command has granted me, the privilege to use one of the Storta-class Destroyers. I can only hope that the next reports will be more satisfactory to our needs.

During a routine patrol of the Cortez System HS>Destino-Final, under Alpha Alarcón, and HS>El_Cid, commanded by myself, received a distress call from the Roatan Ice Cloud. The Judicator class battlecruiser INS-Archenar was under attack from a pair of liberty navy dreadnoughts deep in the ice fields.
We proceeded at best speed into the Roatan Ice Cloud, with HS>El_Cid suffering significant navigational difficulties from the densely packed asteroids. Alpha Alarcón rendezvoused with the Archenar first, while I took a flanking position.

The battle proceeded towards the edge of the cloud, with LNS-Lock pursuing me, while LNS-Iowa61 engaged the two battlecruisers. Using Cid's exceptional speed, I managed to circle around and support the battlecruisers, resulting in the destruction of LNS-Iowa61.

Around this time an Axuo bomber arrived, possibly answering the same distress call. From our previous encounters, I expected an attack. However the pilot appeared to be only interested in the safety of the insurgency vessel. Upon seeing Destino and Cid assisting them, they withdrew.

Shortly afterwards, the combined firepower of our vessels destroyed LNS-Lock.

It seems that the Auxo have some affinity for the Insurgency. We may be able to exploit this in the future.

Recent encounters on the Omicrons have shown the relevance that we have to consider regarding the potential allies nearby, but also the treacherous foes that lurk in the shadows.

The crew and I encountered a singular Bustard dealing with Nomads in Omicron Kappa. The vessel, conveniently called Refugio De La Noche, is a medical ship; dedicated to help all humans that their crew finds. The captain, backlashed by the past war efforts against the Gallics, proved his supposedly noble intentions to us; returning 3 of our Maltese pilots, who were injured during a conflict. Moreover, he agreed with our goals and the Orange Dream to make the humans better. To be honest, his attempts to be helpful everywhere can be considered naïve, but his ambition to reach his goals seem commendable. We departed to our own tasks in friendly manner.

A more convoluted event happened in Omicron Zeta, where we found an old contact: Mainframe Moebius. The Artificial Intelligence recalled the promise we made back in the first encounter, and we delivered. During a period of 60 days, we made Arturo Cruz to wait for this mechanical being in a Zoner base nearby, so he can trade the Slaves we wanted to give them, for research purposes. After no success in locating it again, we did not expect its sudden return, but we were prepared this time. We sent a vast amount of Cardamine and Slaves and Moebius, in return, gave us 11 units of APM Advanced Hardware. Furthermore, we believe that further bargains can be achieved with this entity, as it has shown great respect and consideration towards our kin.

We cannot say the same thing with Nomads. During the exchange a K’hara vessel, Husas, and a completely suspicious Rheinland cruiser, RNC-Einbeck, came to our gathering. The ambush resulted harmful for our ship, as the systems suffered heavy damage during the onslaught. Fortunately for us, Mainframe Moebius escaped on time with our gift, so our detriment was worth it and the scientific progress will endure.

Back on Omicron Alpha, we met the worried Maltese, Anita Moreno, which tried to seek help for her daughter. Unfortunately, her life has been in a hiatus of sorts, as it seemed that her lack of response on our last communication was due to several tasks that she had to resolve first, in order to have time for her daughter and her personal problems. We mentioned our willingness to assist her, but time will tell if this can be accomplished, as schedules collide and other fronts call.

Last but not least, 4 days ago we found an AI scouting vessel, called EX-001, in Omicron Gamma. AI gatherings have revealed distinct types of communication, but in this occasion, the AI was succinct and brief in its messages. We lost it in the Nube Malvada but, curiously enough, we found it later in our home system, followed by 2 Gen’an transports: Fuyuzora and Aisufokkusu. The vessel transmitted short messages, in general, that reflected hostility towards humanity as a whole. EX-001 did not consider the Cardamine as valuable and it concluded with a negative and biased statement against our Maltese society. We do not expect further communication with this being, unless necessary.

Good evening.

Less than an hour ago we received a distress call from two Maltese ships under attack by alien vessels in Tau-37. HS>El_Cid and HS>Destino-Final scrambled from dock above Planet Malta, through the jump hole and into the Bermenjo Cloud in Tau-37. We arrived to find L\-MNS-Platea and HS>Marsaxlokk under attack by a pair of Nomad vessels, as well as a Rheinland cruiser. The behavior of the Rheinlander was very odd. Not only was it across the sector from any Rhienlander base, but it appeared to be coordinating with the aliens.

Not only that, but the transmissions from the Rhienlander. Well frankly, Alphas, if I didn't know better I'd say they'd come from a Nomad vessel instead. My communication's officer double checked the logs, however, and the transmissions were identified as having come from the Rheinland ship.

We were unfortunately unable to capture the vessel to investigate further, but I can report that we successfully repelled both the alien vessels as well as the strange rhienlander.

In order to identify and do a preliminary survey on Omicron Epsilon, regarding the AI deal and its search for Vibradium, we picked several supplies on Ainu and then we travelled through Tohoku to reach the final destination. Surprisingly, we found a Gen’an patrol, having a hot discussion with a couple of Blood Dragons.

Blood Dragons bd]-Muramoto.Tenshin and Blodo.Dragon were arguing with GC Yunoki Misaki and the captain of the ship Katori Jingu, regarding their intrusion in their presumed space. When I arrived to the cheerful reunion, they got offended fast by my kind words; clearly a symptom that these Dragons were not exactly the ones that we have seen in previous encounters. To make things more exciting, a Maltese Sarissa arrived: {MaEx}MXS-Razgriz. It had a designation that our organization has not seen before, but as with the rest of the Maltese, we appreciated their presence. After the Outcast captain tried to get unnecessary information about our taking regarding Core and the Nomads, it was mentioned the name Loyola. The captain suggested the recklessness and power that this special Outcast could have, but we have not seen her current movements to acknowledge those statements thoroughly. We accepted the gratuitous advice offered and, after the conversation dilated, all departed to our tasks without adverse repercussions.

The crossing through Omicron Epsilon was uneventful in comparison. During a superficial analysis of the stellar objects in the vicinity, the only suitable option for a deep search, according to the scarce information provided by the AI, would be in Phoenicia’s moon: Myriandrus. A shiny inferno incarnate, the temperatures are high enough to require necessary modifications to the standard survey and mining equipment, assuming the operation has a green light and we effectively detect the exceptional resource. To be frank, the search for a singular metal like this Vibradium sounds more like a fantasy tale than a serious proposal; but if the risks can be considerably reduced and resources can be optimized, regardless of success in this particular task, it could provide a good impression to the mechanical entity and its associates. Moreover, Cardamine research could reach new horizons with a tighter cooperation with AI, in a way that we cannot fathom yet. Ultimately, an exhaustive proceeding will only happen if the AI agrees to our terms.

On a more casual incident, fight occurred in Tau-53. Matador, Marco Morales and I intercepted a Maquis bomber with the designation [FLG]Lapalisse.Gardien and, following the situation, a fighter friend of his came to assist: [FLG]Diamondback. After an unproductive chat about the intricacies and implications of the meaning of “fun”, the FLG pilots ran out of patience and so did we. After disabling the first one, we cornered Diamondback; but before he could retreat, the Maquis took the chance and incapacitated Matador. The recovery of the escape pod was successful, but this skirmish leaves concerns about the Maquis movements in the Taus and their lunatic predisposition towards their hobbies.

Hola!

During the exploration of the nomad systems, I found a nomad cell. For further testing and for public security, the cell moved to Santa Verna. We have yet to figure out what should we do with this object, but it's definitely powerful.

I do not remember that we, the Alpha Command, have authorized this kind of operation. However, we appreciate the initiative taken on this regard and we will certainly make a good use of it. This Nomad technology could give us an edge on certain types of research, if those last ones are well-implemented. For now, it will have to be kept safe and still, for the time being.

Also, you did a good choice taking it to the least important base on our home system. If any strange and volatile circumstances could be formed because of its presence, it is best to keep it isolated, far away from key facilities and our home.

Buen trabajo, señor Armando.

In an attempt to assess the current situation in the Taus, I decided to make a patrol, with the Battlecruiser, and put some proper domination in this space. Predictable as it is, obstacles always emerge went one wants to impose our deals above the rest.

In Tau-23, I encountered a zoner trading vessel, The.White.Whale, full of Niobium Ore. The trader response was very friendly, perhaps too much but acceptable. The encounter was brief productive, as the zoner paid us 10 million and we departed to our own ways. But, as I was going farther from that ship, we found an IMG miner, Dago, who was making the mining operations for the zoner.

The IMG was expecting to be received the visit of the zoner, as he was surrounded by the already mined Niobium, as it was verified when White Whale arrived later on. In order to make our point regarding IMG operations in the area, I told the guy to step back meters away from the mined ore drifting in space. Then, I destroyed all of it so the zoner and the IMG would think twice when conducting business that we do not appreciate.

After that impasse, I encountered a RGS trader that, apparently, it was in a hurry. TSEK-LoneRanger_Heretic was travelling directly to Kyushu jump hole, carrying Niobium Ore as the previous one. This case was a more straightforward than the event with the zoner. After the jump to Kyushu, the Rheinlander attempted to flee without consideration of my words. Ultimately, I chose to stop the chase for good, taking it down.

In Kyushu, things were softer, as I established communication with a Freelancer who was exiting the New Tokyo Jump Gate. Ashlyn Gearing, as she was identified by the transponder, started quite timid at first; but to my surprise, she seemed more than just a common traveller roaming. She showed respect for the Outcasts, in fact, she served as “maid” to a “Donna”, as she simply referred, and she mention her consumption on Cardamine. Furthermore, she showed understanding about Liberty struggles mentioning the proper origins of the Lane Hackers, even if I played as fool and evasive on her, and I condescendingly answered her as “knowledgeable”. I was genuinely impressed by meeting a freelancer who was not a trigger-happy guy or “I am just following a contract against you”, a good change of pace.

The freelancer took the opportunity to ask me about the possibility of combat training in Malta. After what I heard, she seemed resourceful enough and I accepted that chance to happen, if Ashlyn provides assistance to our efforts or if she provides essential information that could be vital for the Maltese. Time will tell if she takes this agreement seriously.

Before I was going to leave Kusari space, a Dragon cruiser appeared in front of us, Kamiizumi. Its crew appeared to be a little chaotic, but after some disagreements solved from their part, they presented themselves as the Hayazaki-clan. After some exchanges on ideas regarding our different points of view regarding Kusari and its current government, the captain wanted to sell me several “Nomad” weapons. After a proper scan I figured out that those were Adapted Nomad Blasters, nothing of real interest there; after all it is easy to get them with all the skirmishes on the Omicrons. I rejected the offered gently and we left the area without further conflict.

As a side note, before all this happened, we had a pleasant chatter with the contact JJ Mathers, the captain of the zoner vessel Stormhawk, in Omicron Theta. It had passed some time since we met each other, but things have not changed from last time for him. He is continuing its mission to suffocate the Nomads as much as possible, operating throughout the Omicrons. With the current stance of Malta Hyperspace Starfleet regarding those aliens, we can expect that his assistance could be most appreciated, at least as cannon fodder.

In an attempt to unravel the mystery of Nomad tech, we deployed an expedition into Omicron Psi system. The purpose of it was a very straightforward one: Collect all materials related to Nomads, in any form. Entrance to this place always is a complicated one, it is a frequent sight to see several patrols of the aliens guarding and taking down the trespassers. Fortunately for us, our trip did not run into bigger problems.

After the harvest was completed, our Command Ship gathered and left the following elements in the Corsica Complex:

- 8x “Nomad Battleship Remains”
- 46x “Nomad Fighter Remains”
- 38x “Nomad Gunboat Remains”

Superficially, these pieces do not represent any particular properties that we have not seen before, but a deep material analysis will be necessary for further experimentation. Even in their innocuous status, these resources could enlighten us in our research with the proper methods.
