Hopefully next one will be smoother too, a lot of last minute shuffling needed this time. RE: RM/RP/MND+DHC vs Coalition+RH | The Von Rohe Skirmish | Sun Oct 29, 6PM UTC - Barrier - 11-01-2023 No one quite got what they expected out of the engagement in the Von Rohe. The Hessian strike group commander slightly misjudged the window for the attack due to the unusually efficient diamond extraction by the miner from the latest DHC convoy. Their replacements were only approaching the fields when the assault group struck, and the vulnerable transports simply turned around for Solarius, still empty, but safe enough for the moment. With the distress call out and multiple vessels detected all over the system, the military commander still chose to respond and engage the threat. However, the dispositions of his forces were spread out all across Stuttgart, which resulted in valuable minutes being lost as the first ships already engaged the enemy. In addition, the bismarck of the task force could not maneuver directly to the combat zone, and ended up arriving late to the action. By this time, the first losses have already been suffered by the lawful taskforce, which had not yet managed to inflict a single casualty. While they did eventually form up and put up a good showing, the superior tactics of the Coalition and their Hessian allies in this engagement eventually wore them down. The taskforce eventually limped back to Solarius, thoroughly beaten, but at least with the knowledge that the Hessians also came home empty-handed. The Admiral in command of Westen Flotte, Alexander Arnold, has publicly praised the quick response of the taskforce, while privately opening up investigations into its performance, which was so different from the recent victory achieved by an Ost Flotte taskforce in Sigma-15.
