Sure but I think the best route thus far for Plat is Gold <-> Plat, Gallia only if you want to maximize a singular trip. RE: Economy in 5.2+ - monmarfori - 11-23-2024 The addition of a new mining system means that mining isn't now a constant RMB action, it allows players a fun, realistic, and relaxed way of mining. In fact, I'd say with the recent changes, mining is arguably easier than it was before. As for other things, the Gold and H-fuel route is still easy and profitable. While there are a myriad of other routes being added (try Deuterium and H-Fuel), they should be balanced to keep up with the other trade routes. In particular, smuggling commodities should give a higher profit than the legitimate routes, with the risk being law enforcement (and bounty hunters). Diversity with these is sort of stuck until more NuMining fields come around for the most part. Mining arrays are still mandatory in the process and any weapons you like can expose the ore veins for mining. It was simply emphasising the genuine possibility that there is a more distinct skill element with this new system now compared to before - though I'd argue it's just 'different' rather than more difficult. But I have seen the [BMM] guys as well as GF: cover that amount easily within 5 minutes. If you're currently unfamiliar with it, it may just be a case of adjusting to it and once you reach that point it'll come together. The documentation on it is very fresh currently. No worries mate. In hindsight I can see the way I worded it, it could have come across as more of a jab than a light-hearted joke. These things happen, we're only human. This was pointed out to jammi when it was first brought in. You could buy Promethene cheaper than you could manufacture it. Hydrocarbons were 8 credits to buy (cheapest) now been reduced to 2 Cracking Catalysts - 15 credits Prometheum - 10 credits With bonus: 765 Hydrocarbons - cheapest (Aubigny) 85 Cracking Catalyst - cheapest (Guise Mining Facility) 85 Prometheum - cheapest (Planet Quillan) is turned in to 500 Promethene Cost is 765*2 + 85*15 + 85*10 = 3655 credits (this doesn't include shipping costs from point of origin). When it was 8 credits (almost since implementation) that price was 8245 credits to make 500 units. It has got better. Promethene - 11 credits (Aubigny) Therefore 500 Promethene costs 5500 credits from the cheapest place. Connecting with Gold is great if you want Gold, but if you want to connect with High Temperature Alloy or something else, you're out of luck. But that's not the only issue. Connecting to NL isn't actually good. If you buy it for 110-115, which is the price you can reasonably expect a POB to charge, and make the ~17m trip to NL to sell for 90-something profit, you are only just matching, say, High Temperature Alloy from Wichter to Portsmouth. Which didn't require anyone to mine. The non-Gallic routes just have bad profit. They're not good enough to justify the numining effort if you can make the same trading Optronics or whatever (and significantly worse than any oldmining at decent prices). I ran the numbers, Plat from Aceteri to New London is 13.18csu, Gold from Coleraine to Denver is 14.24csu though just under likely as it was taken from Planet NL rather than the station even though its just 3 rings away in the TL, so maybe 14 is closer. There is also the gap between Denver and Aceteri, assuming it's empty would reduce gold a bit more too. Though mind you some extra bonus usually can be obtained by supplying both pobs in this route from the dropoffs. But that being said, what routes today have an average total csu of 13+? RE: Economy in 5.2+ - Karst - 11-23-2024 Yeah I'm not seeing anywhere near those numbers. Granted, it's the Kusari side specifically that's kind of fucked here since all the routes go south except the ones to Gallia, but even accounting for that, it's like a solid 10-20% below a typically priced oldmining ore route of comparable length. RE: Economy in 5.2+ - Enko - 11-23-2024 (11-23-2024, 06:21 PM)Karst Wrote: Yeah I'm not seeing anywhere near those numbers. Gold is 115 from Coleraine and 215 to Planet Denver. 100 Profit. Using Darkstat, the CSU from PNL to Denver is 8.26, because PNL sells gold for 157. 215 Denver - 157 PNL = 58 credits profit. 58c x 100 = 5800 cents. 5800 Cents divided by 702 seconds = 8.26 csu as seen on Darkstat. Then we go from Coleraine, which will add more time say 30 seconds. 215 Denver - 115 Coleraine = 100 credits profit. 100c x 100 = 10000 cents. 10000 cents divided by 732 seconds = 13.66 csu Therefore we can roughly work out that Coleraine to Denver is 13.66 csu, using darkstat. -- Platinum from Acteri is 106 credits profit over 804 seconds, which puts it at 13.18 csu to Planet New London. This is comprable on the way back mind you because the distance to Acteri is longer, but it also sells plat for 15c less than Coleraine. Meanwhile, Darkstat HTA to Cambrige from Wichter is 10.17 csu. It's not adding up. So yes, real world figures will be lower csu because Darkstat is faster than real world transports, but that will not make the delta between HTA from Sig 15 to Cambrige vs Gold/Plat any better. |
