Basalt isn't a junker ship, if anything it reads like an IMG one.
Certainly, if you're progressing the old fashioned way, without power mining or running a trader, it's a good stepping stone.

There are quite a few liberty SC. The flat Jungle one in the death Scythe, now with the name bulldog. I have one that frequents Liberty and Rheinland.
I have to say I have probly seen 3 mules in the whole 2 years I have been here. Also, that bee looking ship you can buy at the rhein BS in Dresden.... you don't see many of them around either.
The Galia ships... meh I have seen just one that a friend used for a merc. I still haven't been to that part of space.

Order Reconnisance cruiser. I hardly ever see that, all I see are carriers...
Rhienland gunboats are quite rare too.

Zypher carrier, never seen one of them ingame, at all.
And a fair amount of the homeworld ships are pretty unused.
