Tiny little Kamikazee plane can take a battleship out of comission. So in reallife a mosquito plane can take out an aircraft carrier which is much stronger and more durable than a battleship. And, also a battleship. So like reallife a mosquito fighter should be able to take out a battleship. Battleship problem - Panzer - 05-21-2007 Hmm, then again, is Freelancer RL? Don't think sow... nd take a look at how many goodies the modern warships have. All varieties designed to keep the skyes clean. Vulcan cannons, missles, decoys, BVR radars, not to mention the air support from a carrier. Battleship problem - Korrd - 05-22-2007 When talking about Sci-FI starship in general, the decisive factor on a battle is power output. With shields, it does not matter how powerful the fighter is, but how powerful the BS shields are. Those were designed to stand against another BS. A fighter, which should be less than 1% of a BS, has not a snowball chance in hell to even dent the shields of the BS. Also, remember that a fighter carries a small power core. A battleship carries a huge one. Even bigger than the fighter per se. So I think that the BS outclasses a fighter sized ship by a HUGE LONG GIGANTIC shot. Also, comparing airplanes to battleships is like comparing a lemon with a banana. Better compare seaships among them. Try taking down a dreadnought with an armed JetSki. You will see that it's not possible. Battleship problem - BestFlyerHere - 05-22-2007 Thank you Korrd! Battleship problem - X-Lancer - 05-22-2007 I agree with Korrd Battleship problem - Lt.Cmdr.Olsav - 05-22-2007 I echo kords tohughts, also bs' should be much more powerful, truly the mother of all ships, and something that factions sohuld only have. Battleship problem - Dab - 05-22-2007 Battleships should be like the Titans of EVE. Very few, very expensive, but very useful. Say 5 times their current strength, but also be around 6 billion credits. That means if you got one, your a faction. Obviously we'd have to have the admins edit it to you, since you can't carry 6 billion creds on one character. Battleship problem - Nightfall - 05-22-2007 ' Wrote:Battleships should be like the Titans of EVE.You can Dab, we have credit cards, remember? Battleship problem - Panzer - 05-22-2007 Ouch, 6 bil... A bit of an exaggeration dotcha think? Then again, agreed. Read a bit about EvE and agree completely. The bloody thing should be unstoppable. Like the original Dreadnoght in 1905. Which reminds me.... Could the Battlestar II get fit under gaming conditions and made availible for buying? It would indeed be something in accord with the conception of making Heaviest ships for factions only. Big, heavy and can be destroyed only by something of similar size. Capship whoring? Raise the price to an improbable, faction-feasable only level and watch the caps disappear. (anti-pie shield up) |
