Well, I'll try to get more people in doubts, if you don't know if we are allied with some unlawfuls, then we are doing it well.

But, to make it clear.

Pirating in front of a lawful officer is against Kusari's law.
No one is above that law.

It seems fairly obvious that you are allied with them, as I almost got declared an enemy of the state for reporting a pirate as such.

' Wrote:The IMG aren't the problem, the Hogosha are, as well as the Farmers alliance and whoever else the Hogs want to drag into their new found legitimacy. Nobody wants to be in a Naval or Police force that fights alongside a crime syndicate.
Just like to point out that the Hogosha aren't new. Their legitimacy isn't new, they've been around for a very very very long time. They are seen by the people for the most part as the guardians of Kusari. In fact Hogosha means guardian according to FL lore. Sure they fund a lot of their actions with shady deals, but the Hogosha also protect both the people and Kusari tradition and culture.

I'd also like to just paste the Hogosha ID here. As it further enhances the Artifact trade:
Quote:Hogosha ID
Pilot carrying this ID is a Hogosha, who:
* Can demand credits or cargo from non-Samura traders and unallied smugglers or factions
* Can fulfill bounty contracts
* Can trade and only escort Hogosha artifact smugglers
* Can lawfully transport Artifacts within Kusari
* Can engage pirates, terrorists and lawfuls within their Zone of Influence
* Cannot ally with any lawfuls except with KNF, KSP and Samura
* Cannot attack Samura, KNF or KSP ships

Allowed ships: Fighters, Bombers, Freighters, Transports
Carrying unmounted IDs in your ship, as well as not equipping an ID, is a serious crime. Transporting Artifacts is not sanctionable if your ID does not say you can lawfully do so. It just means that there may be in-character consequences if you are not lawfully allowed.
Yes Samura and Kishiro can legally trade artifacts, but where do you think they get them? You think they fly down to Gamma and buy them from the Corsairs? Heh.. The artifacts that Samura and Kishiro get their hands on come from the Hogosha. The Hogosha bring them in, Samura and Kishiro do what they will with them.

The Samura lobby has made it legal for the Hogosha to carry artifacts. Artifacts are in fact a legal commodity in Kusari. However, much like several other goods, only certain people can legally carry them.

Kusari is just messed up, in a really good way.

It's like... a more racist, old fashioned Japan.

But no Anime.

There, like Rheinland, are no true criminals per se, the GC and Dragons are terrorists trying to over throw the government.

Whereas Rheinland has people pushed to the edge, forced to fight back and turn to crime.

Come to think of it, once New Paris is unlocked in gallia in 4.86... What will Gallia be?

Black and white (pirates/traders/navy boringness compared to Liberty) or more complex like Rhienland, Bretonia, or Kusari?

I think Kusari is sorta like a Japan before that one American admiral sailed into Tokyo Bay with his steam-ironclads the Japaneese had never seen before. Isolationist Japan.

What boggles me is How did they build up their navy so much in 15 years? Juni was recorded saying that "The Kusari fleet was defeated near Planet New Tokyo, and Rhienland threatened to bomb the planet."

Gallia is in the middle of a civil war. Who's right and who's wrong depend on what side you are on.

But this thread isn't about Gallia.

That's a universal truth.

Well, Bretonia cheated on Kusari with Liberty, so relationships were strained, give em a week, it's just a silly arguement.

Srsly though, you are absolutly right, good is only good if you are good. Killing people whist being evil is also good, different good though.

The Consortium.

Quote:There, like Rheinland, are no true criminals per se, the GC and Dragons are terrorists trying to over throw the government.

Not exactly. Hogosha are technically the closest thing to normal Criminals (abiet an organized Mafia rather then petty street thugs), given the FA, GC, and Dragons have political goals and motivations, while QCP and the Consortium's goals are purely Military oriented.

Most of the petty 'crime' in Kusari is of foriegn (as the Hogosha tend to keep local thugs in Kusari in line), Rogues, Lane Hackers, occasional Xenos or Junkers, and Outcasts*

*Note: The Consortium are a seperate entity from the Outcasts, and should be considered officially unconnected with the NPC faction, and have completely diffrent goals.

' Wrote:The Hogs alliance with Kusari is one of the biggest nitpicks I have with Kusari. By now the Farmers should be a bit more civil since their being a bit more widely accepted as a political party.

'Eh more lenient? We were being accepted as a political party 16 years ago. In the same year we blew off a piece of Deshima Station. Force seems to be working out pretty well and we're being recognized as a part at the same time. Sounds like all fronts forward to me. More brutality and more lobbying.

' Wrote:But back to the point, people aren't sure where the KNF stand with the Hogosha and their allies. I'm not excluded, I honestly don't know what rumors are true, but I'm certain that some of them are.

So, shouldn't your characters be the same way? They just don't know. That's all part of the game. You know, challenge and adventure. That's what I like in a game. It would be horribly boring to venture into the known all the time...
