RP Cargo - Kerinja - 12-30-2009 Just created a new pilot yesterday who will become a smuggler. After reading this i guess there will be some stuff in my hold that is not to be sold: 4x Spaceship Crew (pilot, rear gunner, engineer, medic - better to have one, trust me;)) 4x Food, Water, Oxygen, Consumer Goods (all the crew needs) 2x Tobacco, Wine (great for celebrating good business) 1x Diamonds (my lucky gem) 4x Light Arms, Pharmaceuticals (sometimes negotiations with dealers or customers get a bit ... erm ... difficult) 5x Ship Hull Panels, Engine Components, Nano Capacitors, Optronics, Oil (spare parts and lubricant) 20x H-Fuel (uhm well... fuel) RP Cargo - Exsiled_one - 12-30-2009 If there was a place where I could buy corsair pilots, I'ld carry few. Going across galaxy collecting items is a no. I get blown up. As Kishiro... Never really thought of it. But I could put some crew in. RP Cargo - Camtheman Of Freelancer4Ever - 12-30-2009 I do not, on any of my characters. Simply because, Who would put their crew in the cargo hold? Besides, I do not want to replace it every time I die. Its just too much of a pain in the arse. Its rather obvious you have H-Fuel in your cargo hold, It can be RP'ed an average scanner wont pick it up. RP Cargo - Bazza - 12-30-2009 I've had Corsairs demand food rations out of my hold and other pirates taking H-Fuel, Oxygen and Water in lieu of credits. I carry a random amount of all those items since it makes sense they'd show up on a scanner. I once made it out of a hostile pirate encounter sans about 200cr worth of Oxygen, simply because the pirates could converse to save their own arse.:) The way I see it a scanner will be able to detect barcodes on shipping containers the same way they stop me walking out Dick Smith's with a DVD in my handbag. They can also detect heat via infra red imaging which the scanning pilot can decipher to count how many people are on board. RP Cargo - JeffreyT - 12-31-2009 If I am flying anything bomber or smaller I don't. Fighters and alike are in my mind short range craft and do not require extra food or water. I go out on my patrol, and when I am done I dock and go hit up the bar for some battered, fried, salty synth paste balls with a sidewinder fang. If I am flying my main trader then I don't because I do not want to give up profit. I know it is poor rp, but I do not enjoy trading (under most circumstances, I love my VIP route with my Democratis). I just trade to support other interests. If I am flying my larger ships I do get the rp cargo because it makes sense to carry it. RP Cargo - Elsdragon - 12-31-2009 If I could BUY pilots, I would carry more though. RP Cargo - Panzer - 12-31-2009 Dont carry nothing for 2 reasons: 1. My chars are used for combat. They die. I dont fancy doing a roun-Sirius trip every time it happens. 2. I need very bit of space I can get whenever a slaver gets blown up to save as many as possible. RP Cargo - Carlos_Benitez - 12-31-2009 I carry a Pilot/Escape pod most of the time. It's useful for the occasions in which I'm out of my usual stomping grounds and get shot down, because I can get the Benitez to have a nice exciting RP event to rescue me.:) RP Cargo - nephandus - 01-03-2010 Answer is a huge YES pilots, water, fuel, food, consumergoods plus a decent crew are the basic items what all RP ships must have.. At least i think this. Plus in addition about the concept of the character: mutch mutch more. Most of my player chars looks like a pile o' trash, cause I usually buy 1-5 pieces of all kind of needed equipment. The space is too empty, you must have your own loot with you. The size of your ship determines how many crewmembers yall need, and the number of your crew will determine how mutch you need from ration bars n so. But I rarely see anyone following the same concept. People are AI drones flying with an emty ship, or a ship filled wit x or y stuff what is good for trade. MOney is first for most of the people. Beside they cannot rp, they decide to trade instead. After they made enough money they cannot rp cause discovery will mean trading for them still. So: Everyone, just use rp loot in your ship, its not a big deal to get resupplies after they kill you. Easy. Yes, money is the first thing on most peoples minds in this game because you need so much of it to get anywhere. Just because they don't carry RP cargo doesn't mean they can't RP. It just means they can't be stuffed flying half way round Sirius to pick up three or four crew at a decent price. After they have made enough money most can certainly RP, it's just that you can't see that because your to judgmental. |
