Well, I know Lolpirates need to burn. in Hell. THey created People like silverleaf

Really, be reasonable. As for the Phantoms, you said it yourself that sometimes you just want to shoot someone Bacon. not that I hold it against you.

Back in the day of the penn silver rush, Miner pirates exploded outwards. I suddenly realized I could make more money faster by simply asking for ore. when they refused, I blew them up, and drove my miner ID'd Ptrans to Narita to make a quick buck. Easy.

to Be Honest, I Have to say that tradeing ships should be cash cows and ego boosters- for their owners, not those who rob em. If you want to piss em off, just never go back and do something else to make money.
And the next guy to say" get an escort"? Dead.

EDIT: Why a new page?

anyway, Props to the LR for being reasonable.

You know, I was going to quote some people and refute some points, but, I think I'll post my "Pro Pirate" (It's a joke, you see) point of view.

First, as a pirate, the most fundamental rule is be confident in the fact that you have a big gun. Of course, the objective of a pirate is twofold:
  • 1. Make person pay
    2. Make example of person so others pay
You do this through the use of your big gun. Traders should know about your big gun as well, and want to live by some means. Why? Because two things are achieved by living:
  • 1. You're alive (Holy crap, that's important)
    2. You make a profit
As a person, I certainly don't like exploding. As a trader, this remains constant, as being a person and being a trader are not mutually exclusive but, rather, are highly correlative and if you're a pilot, chances are you're a person.

A lot of people here talk about compromises. Well, the demand is a compromise. The pirate is compromising not to just blow you up when he sees you and take money instead. If you want to compromise, you need to make the juice worth the squeeze. If you tell an FA that he won't get payed for destroying you, oh well, that sucks for you, cuz you're going to explode because you insulted him by calling him petty, but, if you threaten to call over the KNF/KSP, he may compromise with you. You have to make it worth it to the pirate. If you want the pirate to go half, maybe, call out in system chat for a Freelancer to get the same price for coming and helping you. Make the juice worth the squeeze (Sorry for taking that term, but, it's so good, other Chris).

And, really, if you meet one pirate who is mean, does it really hurt your profits that badly? I trade Terraforming Gases and Cobalt, and I LOVE to get pirated. The harsher, the better, because no one can ever force me to pay (Except Phate that one time).

' Wrote:THERE ARE NO ESCOURTS TO HIRE!

Then there is a nice, big, open market for you to fill. Congratulations.

But, this raises a good question. Why aren't there any escorts? It's simply more profitable to not get one. Why? Because some pirates don't make realistic demands. It's more profitable to ignore escorts and just pay a pirate 500k - 3 million credits. It's all a matter of Game Theory. If you play a chance with a pirate without an escort, the chance that it will be more profitable simply outweighs the profitability of hiring an escort every time. So, if you want there to be more escorts, you have two options:
  • 1. Escort for free/very little a little bit until people start hiring normally
    2. Pirate for a lot and tell people to get escorts
I know it sounds silly, but, really, that's it. Just like with the mining mod, if you hit someone enough times, eventually they'll figure out to move our of the way.

' Wrote:Rp with them back, some pirates want money fast, but I like a good chat, if you RP well, you might end up keeping your cash/cargo,

I do it by that system for the most part when I pirate. If i am entertained by your RP I wont pirate you as hard or let you by. People who make me sad are powertraders who don't talk or use one word answers or just be a jerk about getting pirated

I laugh at those that feel they have been 'ruined' by pirates.

Cmon guys theyre not THAT hard to avoid..... mostly because they rarley try that hard, since the targets are usualy so security unconcious.

We get a lot of tiresome attitude when we are 'reverse pirating' in the GMG.

With slaves - its not even a case of demanding money or cargo. All we want to do is divert them and sell their cargo in Okinawa.

Even when we point out that the time/profit ratio isnt much different to Malta - they STILL wont play ball!

Its really just that ANY demand or interruption is a distraction to the powertrader. It requires too much brain-power to play along. They would rather stall, F1, dock with our bases, or call in buddies from Outcast space.

Its really quite pathetic.

There is no point having this thread really, as long as people keep pirating and people keep trading this argument will continue. All of you should learn that it's just a game, you don't earn anything you don't lose anything. Sure, you may mine for an hour and get all of your ore taken but that's the nature of the game. Live with it. To the pirates, people don't like their stuff taken. They will do anything to avoid it. Live with it. The only thing that you lose through playing this game is time. If you lose a couple of million credits what's it gonna do? Your not gonna run down by a truck or be killed because of it. There is no point getting irate over it. Now stop being selfish children and play nicely.

Here's a tip:
If you want to make money, DO NOT choose the most profitable method available. Lolwut? But it's faster you say?

Then you tell me what's faster. My 20 mil per hour route where I never get pirated or stopped by police for smuggling, or your 75~ mil per hour mining where you get blown up for your cargo regularly.

Fact is, the most profitable way to make money will always be whored by traders/miners, and subsequently whored by pirates. It's a fact of Discovery. If you're sick of it, then you have to avoid it.

In short, you can't have your cake and eat it too.

and if their are too many rods in the pond, there will be no fish. Be warned, you pirate for RP, not money. I take pride in bountying moneypirates until they cry.
