Mon'Star the Red - me_b_kevin - 06-12-2008 *Somewhere in the Shikoku System* *Aboard the Necrosis* You and your fellow Kusarians have done well, MonStar said to the Kusari naval pilot he held aloft by the throat. MonStar had captured several fighter wings of the Kusari navyin the last few days. Once he felt there were a sufficient number to, as he put it, subdue his appetite he released them to run free on the Necrosis. He began to hunt them down, stalking them from deck to deck, and slowing forcing them off into smaller groups. Seventeen had fallen to his malicious hand, the two remaining were the man hanging from the madmans metallic maw and the dangling mans partner lying at MonStars feet trying desperately to stop the continuous flow of blood from the large knife wound in his chest. You are to be commended on your training, The madman continued, But alas, all things must come to an end. Oh, by that I mean your life HAHAHAHAHAAA. His thunderous laughter was cut short by a nearby monitor turning on. MonStar's ears perked up at the sound of the newly revived monitor. He brought the knife he was holding in his other hand up and cleaned the thick coating of blood on the blade off onto the pilots shirt. Once the blade was clean he quickly stowed it back into its sheath and promptly released his grip on the pilots throat. The pilot near unconsciousness fell limply to the floor, his now dead partner breaking most of his fall. The pilot grabbed his throat and began to cough violently. MonStar seemingly oblivious to the man he was just about to kill turned and moved to the now fully operating monitor. As he approached he saw a familiar digitized face looking back at him. Borgy! MonStar said gleefully, so good to have you back. I trust your trip was eventful? The pilot, now fully conscious again, looked in shock at his fallen comrade and began squirming away from the sight as fast as he could. He looked at his recent attacker and saw that his attention was elsewhere. The pilot jumped to his feet and began running as fast as he could down the corridor. Master, Psi-Borgs replied in an almost bored tone, eventful it was indeed. As I approached the battleship I was intercepted by a defense wing shortly after I entered scanner range. The pilot ran as fast as his legs would allow, he thought that if he could only find a place to hide he would be able to Monstar, without even looking at the man running away from him, pulled out his side arm in a blur and fired a single down the corridor hitting the pilot in the back of the head dropping him to the ground where he lay very much dead. Go on. MonStar said without missing a beat. The face on the monitor simply raised an eyebrow before continuing, My ship was destroyed in short order, just as planned. I was successful in transferring to one of the navy fighters, and in order to keep the pilot from warning anyone I removed the oxygen from his person. HA! I always liked that trick. The look on their dead face is the best part. Yes, Psi-Borg continued, well I felt it was the most efficient way to deal with the threat he posed. Yeah yeah, MonStar waved a dismissive hand at the monitor, keep going. Once I had landed on the Myoko, I began hacking into their systems. They were quick to activate their defenses but I was able to find out some useful information. The doctor wasnt onboard the battleship. Just as I thought, MonStar thought aloud, my suspicions were correct after all. A few nights ago a freighter docked with the Myoko and left with the Dr. Endo. I have the ships comm. signal, we should be able to track the ship down fairly easily master. Excellent, MonStars devious smile slowly spreading across his face once again as he turned and began walking down the corridor, meet me on the bridge, we have a hunt to continue. Yes master. Psi-Borgs voice echoed down the corridor after MonStar. As MonStar approached the body of the pilot who had ran down the corridor, he pointed at the fallen pilots body with his hand in the shape of a gun, Bang! then bringing his finger to his mouth he gave a short forceful blow. Without slowing his stride in the least he merely stepped over the body and let out a thunderous roaring laughter, HAHAHAHAHAHAAAA! Mon'Star the Red - me_b_kevin - 06-19-2008 *Texas System* *Onboard An Unmarked Transport* A man stood in silence, staring blankly out the viewing port of his personal quarters. He was dressed in common clothes and to the untrained eye could easily pass as just another civilian among many who had purchased a ticket for passage through Liberty space on the transport of a enterprising freelancer. His face however, showed signs of years of stressful occupation. Wrinkles, scars, and a mysterious glint in his eyes hinted that there was much more than meets the eye to this fellow. A soft knock on the door brought the man out of his trance but he showed no sign of surprise at the appearance of a visitor. Come in. the man responded. The door opened and revealed a short balding man standing nervously in the corridor. In his hand he held a note. I received this note requesting a meeti Yes yes, the unknown man interrupted in a whispered tone, hurry, come inside. The man ushered his visitor inside and with a quick look down both sides of the corridor he shut the door. Sorry for all the secrecy Dr. Endo, the man spoke at normal levels now that the door was shut, the LSF try to keep a low profile, especially in situations like yours, we dont want to draw to much attention to ourselves. I trust you have been following the precautions you were given once you entered Liberty space? Well yes, Dr. Endo stuttered, so youre an LSF agent? Yes, the man smiled and bowed showing respect for the Doctors Kusarian customs, My name is Derrik Oswald, and Ive been assigned to your case. Please, Oswald motioned to a table in the corner of the room, have a seat, we have some things to discuss. What news do you have of my pursuer? Dr. Endo asked as they both took a seat at the table. Well it turns out that Admiral Hirohita was wise in choosing for you and your family to not remain on the Myoto. This response made Dr. Endos eyes grow wide and he swallowed hard in a futile effort to push his heart back into its normal position. What happened? It was attacked somehow using one of the battleships own fighters, Derrik Oswald poured the pair each a glass of water from a pitcher sitting on the table. The Dr. gave a quick short bow and picked up the glass to take a drink his hand was shaking nervously. The fighter was carrying some high yield ordinance. Somehow every bit of it exploded in unison, crippling the Myoto. Oswald took a sip of his water and gave a slight chuckle, The Kusari sure know how to make a ship. The Myoto withstood the blast, and thankfully there werent any further attacks against it. I doubt it wouldve survived a full onslaught after such an explosion. We feel that the lone ship that was encountered before the explosion was sent to plant a virus into the Myotos security network Why wouldve whoever did it not come to finish the Myoto off? the doctor sputtered nervously. Were not sure, if it were a Kusari based organization they surely would have loved to remove the Myoto permanently. This leads us to believe its not part of the Kusari criminal network. Which brings with it the worry that whoever is after you would most likely follow you into Liberty if by chance they have discovered you werent on the Myoto. The doctor fell against the back of his chair, visibly shaken from the news that he was still being hunted. Now dont worry Dr. Endo, Derrik Oswald held up his hands to try to calm the doctor down, You and your family are safe. The multiple ship changes, the alias, and the all the secrecy will ensure you and your family will not be found. However, just to be absolutely sure my superiors felt it necessary to send you to a high level security facility, at least until we know for sure whats going on. The doctor did relax a bit at the news of all that was being done to ensure he and his families safely. A voice came over the intercom announcing the ships arrival at Planet Houston, and went on about landing protocols. Once we are on the docking platform, you will need to head to this address, Derrik handed him a piece of paper, I will meet you there and take you and your family to the facility. Derrik Oswald offered a smile to the doctor as they parted ways at the undercover LSF agents door. Sadayuki Endo walked swiftly back toward his own room where his family awaited him. Despite the news about the happenings in Kusari, the LSF agent did succeed in making him feel better about the situation. Still, he would feel a lot better if he knew who was hunting him. Mon'Star the Red - me_b_kevin - 06-30-2008 *Outer Edge of the Texas System* *Aboard the Necrosis* The corridor was pitch black, the only lights present were the occasional backlit buttons of a control panel scattered throughout the ship, but even these minor light sources did little to illuminate the black void. Silence accompanied the darkness; it was as if the ship itself was dead. A soft humming sound could be heard in the distance and got progressively louder as the source got closer. The sound originated from a hover panel, a small viewing monitor propelled by four small electric rotary fan-like motors. The screen was dark as the hover panel sped down the corridors of the Necrosis at a brisk pace. In the distance a sound could be heard, a melodic cheerful tone. The hover panel seemed to be seeking it out. As it got closer it became clear what the sound was, whistling. An unknown figure was walking casually down the dark corridor, whistling a tune that resembled a something close to a childs nursery rhyme. The hover panel sped down the corridor to catch up to the figure, taking a position beside them. The panels screen sprang to life casting a bright light in the corridors otherwise endless blackness. The light shined on the face of the whistling figure, revealing the face of MonStar, whom seemed to not be surprised by the appearance of his visitor. The newly lit monitor displayed what could be best described as a digital rendering of a human face, emotionless and cold. Youre late Psi-Borg. MonStar stated after he had stopped whistling. Forgive me Master, the face on the hover panel replied, I ran into a bit more resistance than anticipated. I trust the resistance didnt keep you from completing your mission? MonStar said as he continued his walk down the corridor, the panel matching his course and speed. No Master, their firewalls and security measures, though advanced as they were, proved to be futile in the end. Excellent Borgy, MonStar chuckled, now then, tell me what youve learned. I transferred into Liberties own satellite network in order to track the progress of the Doctor. The LSF charged with the doctors protection performed several ship changes in an attempt to lose any pursuers. These organics seem to not know who it is that hunts them, with a few transfers into security networks and various other systems, tracking them was easily accomplished. MonStar abruptly turned and walked down a small stairway and continued on, Psi-Borgs panel had to stop and change course to match its masters course change. So where is he now? MonStar once Psi-Borg had assumed his previous position beside him. Doctor Endo is currently in a joint Liberty Navy & LSF base deep under the surface of Planet Houston. Interesting, how well defended is it? Heavily, Psi-Borg stated plainly, I performed a few calculations and they indicate your success in infiltrating the base is possible. Currently with my knowledge of your advanced biological physiology and combat skill level I calculate the percentage for success is slightly above 50%. MonStar took a few more steps and stopped in front of a large door. Oh Borgy, MonStar smiled wildly, you dont know me very well then do you. Two things to always remember, never underestimate your opponent and the other thing is when in doubt.Overkill..HAHAHHAHAHHAAHA MonStar turned to the large door, which heeding his unspoken command. The door sprang open and the lights inside began to flicker as they began to light the room. Inside there were a few robots milling around doing various tasks taking no notice of the change in the environment around them. The room looked like a type of workshop, tools and cranes spread across the room in no certain order. In the center of the room was a large object covered entirely by a large cloth. Master I have checked my records, and I have no knowledge of this room. Well Borgy, MonStar looked at the robots around the room and they immediately stopped what they were doing and moved to each stand beside the large object, I was wanting it to be a surprise. I was going to wait till your birthday but it would seem we need to utilize it sooner than expected. The robots each reached up and pulled on side of the cloth covering the unknown object. The cloth slipped off with ease, revealing what could only be described as a war machine. Standing nearly ten foot tall, the machine was humanoid in shape, heavily armored, and covered in weapons. I found the plans for this prototype droid in the data library of one of the military installations weve destroyed in the past. I had the crew build it, I figured itd come in handy. MonStar walked up to the machine and rubbed his hand across one of its massive guns. Indeed, Psi-Borg agreed, his hover panel floating around the machine as if inspecting it for flaws. So, MonStar said smirkingly, Do you think this improves our chances of retrieving the good doctor? Psi-Borg stopped its inspection and turned to face its master. An evil grin spread across its digital face. Greatly. ![]() Mon'Star the Red - me_b_kevin - 07-03-2008 *Planet Houston* *LN/LSF Subterranean Base* It was late, very late. Dr. Sadayuki Endo rubbed his face slowly with the rag he had just soaked under the faucet. He couldnt sleep, as much as he tried he couldnt manage to get his mind to stop racing. Many nights were like this, at times he would go days with only a few hours of sleep and those few hours were far from consecutive. His mind was preoccupied with his current predicament. He and his family were on the run from some unknown enemy that had forced them out of their homeland of Kusari. After several close calls the Endo family made it out of Kusari and were now under the protection of Liberties military in a heavily guarded and, from what the doctor was told, secret base. So why was he still unable to relax? The Endo family had been on Houston for almost two weeks now and not a single incident has occurred since the attack on the Myoko. Surely by now any normal person would think the nightmare was over and could at least sleep through the night. Dr. Endos mind was the enemy now, continuously running the whole thing over and over in his head. It just doesnt make sense. He would whisper to himself. The doctor was gifted with one of the most brilliant analytical minds of all of Sirius. The gift however, now played the role of curse. Now the benefits of being able to problem solve his way through most issues was now proving to add to his problems. After drying his face Dr. Endo walked into the family area of the suite his family and he were assigned during their stay at the base. He sat down on the sofa, reached for the rooms remote, and turned on the viewing monitor on the opposite wall. As per usual, he flipped through the various channels looking for any sign or clue as to what could possibly be going on. After cycling through them all he finally stopped on a nature show in hopes that the program might take his mind off of it all and allow him to finally rest. His hope were in vain unfortunately, it hadnt been but a few minutes until he found himself dwelling on the enigma he was caught in. Various questions plagued him; who could possibly want to kidnap him, who was capable of wiping out all those police, who could successfully attack a Kusari battleshiphis mind was racing through the same questions over and over. The doctor nearly jumped out of his skin when he felt more than heard a rumble of some sort. The loud rumble was quickly followed by several small thumps in rapid succession. Before the doctor could even begin to think of what it could be a siren began to blare. The doctors heart jumped up into his throat, Oh no. he muttered. Snapping out of the momentary shock he turned to run for his family. As he entered the hall where the bedrooms were located the doors were already opening and his wife and two daughters were poking their heads out of them. Before he could utter a single word there was a buzzing coming from the front door. Get your things. Was all he could get out before running to the front door of the suite. As he approached the door the small viewing monitor beside the door revealed who was outside. It was LSF agent Derrik Oswald accompanied by six well-armed men. Sadayuki unlocked the door and opened it. The door slip open and the seven mean broke into the room immediately. With the door open the rumbled and thumps could be heard more clearly now. They were much louder and were even closer together than before, that coupled with the screeching siren forced any conversation to yelling levels. We have to move now, Agent Oswald yelled to Dr. Endo, theres no time to gather personal belongings! The doctor, now wide eyed, looked over to see the six armed men escorting his family toward the door. His wife shared the look he wore on his face and his two daughters were crying, visibly shaken by the sudden chain of events unfolding. Dr. Endo turned to Oswald and nodded that they were ready. Derrik Oswald motioned to the guards and shouted some orders that the doctor couldnt understand from the ever-increasing noise level. The guards moved to the edge of the door, poked their heads out for a brief moment to see if the way was clear. They nodded to Oswald who returned the signal and then turned to the Endo family. Stay close, were going to get you out of here. He said with a wink and a forced smile. With three of the guards in front and three bringing up the rear, the group set off down the corridor to make their escape Mon'Star the Red - me_b_kevin - 07-11-2008 .................... The corridor was dark, lit only by emergency lighting scattered sparsely along the corridor walls. Random flashes of light originating from an adjacent corridor illuminated what the emergency lights couldnt. The sounds accompanying the flashes of light were deafening, the noise level was loud enough to disorient anyone close enough to the source. In this corridor a trail of destruction marked the path of one of two very dangerous new visitors to the subterranean Liberty military base. Smoke bellowed from holes in various places along the corridor and from the numerous bodies scattered along its length. Between the flashes and thunderous roars of the explosions in the corridor around the corner, the heavy pounding of metallic feet could be felt more than heard. A lone figure, silhouetted in the smoke and limited light, strolled through the corridor. They walked casually as if unaware of the apparent war zone happening only a few yards from them. The figure stepped out of the smoke and knelt down over a young Liberty soldier, wounded in the tornado of carnage that just passed through the corridor. The soldier looking upon the face of the unknown figure knelt over him, a flash from another explosion revealed the figures face. The soldiers eyes widened and a look of terror came upon his face. The soldier quietly mouthed the name MonStar MonStar smiled wickedly at the recognition of his face. He brought the cigar in his hand up to his mouth and took a long hard drag off of it, savoring the moment. <How are you liking the new toy Borgy?> MonStar hadnt spoken the words, they were more of a thought transmitted through a type of radio link. <its performance is more than adequate.> Psi-Borg responded dryly from inside the metallic monstrosity laying waste in the next corridor. <Like I said before my pet, when in doubt....overkill. If I might add, your doing a rather splendid job> MonStar thought. <Thank you master> <Shame really,> MonStar took another deep drag off of the cigar, <I wish we had more time to play with the locals.> with the ember on the end of the cigar glowing brightly, MonStar reached forward and rubbed the hot ash into the forehead of the wounded soldier. The screams of pain were drowned out by another round of explosions. MonStar stretched that devilish grin across his face once more as he picked up the soldiers plasma rifle and stood up. Aiming the gun at the soldiers face he was about to pull the trigger when something grabbed his attention. He looked away suddenly, starring intently at the wall near him, almost as if he were looking through it. <Psi-Borg,> his thoughts transmitting once again, <They are on the move. Its time to herd the flock.> <Moving to intercept> MonStar turned his attention back to the wounded soldier, he placed his foot on the fallen mans chest, painted a overly exaggerated look of sadness on his face, gave a childlike wave goodbye, and pulled the trigger............ Mon'Star the Red - me_b_kevin - 07-17-2008 ........................................... The Endo family and their escorts walked at a swift pace down the dimly lit corridor. The group was relatively quiet, only the sound of soft footsteps and the light sobs of the children could be heard. Only a few minutes had passed since the sounds of explosions and weapons discharging had ceased, but To Dr. Endo it seemed like an eternity. He kept looking over his shoulder, praying that he wouldnt see anyone in pursuit. Seeing no one behind them did little to ease his mind, the sound of heavy footsteps echoed through the corridors. The metal on metal clanks sounded as if they could be coming from any direction, keeping the group on edge. The doctors heart pounded harder and harder, despite Agent Oswalds obvious efforts in trying to lead the group away from thumping sound, the foot steps seemed to only get louder. The doctors wife gasp audibly as the thumping stopped abruptly. Derrik Oswald held up his hand signaling a silent order to the soldiers to stop. The corridor up ahead made a ninety-degree turn to the left, Derrik signaled to the soldier in front to check the path ahead. The soldiers nodded and moved slowly to the corner ahead, each taking up different defensive positions. One stood at the corner itself while the other two fanned around the corner further toward the center of the corridor. The whole group jumped visibly as the silence what broken by the momentary hissing sound that preceded the missile that impacted between the soldiers at the corner a second later. The doctor and the remaining members of the group were hit by the jarring shockwave of the explosion. The blinding flash and the impact of being thrown against the nearby wall left Sadayuki Endo in a daze. As he blinked his eyes and shook his head, attempting to regain his senses, he felt the return of the footsteps below him rumbling through the grating he was lying on. As his eyes regained focus, he saw his wife and children lying next to him in a similarly dazed state. Weapons fire erupted in the corridor, the results the explosion had on the doctor made it sound like it was all around him. He found himself instinctively crawling over to his family where they all huddled together trying to protect themselves the best they could. They all held each other as tight as they could, all their muscled tensed, and their eyes shut tight. The firefight ended as quickly as it begun, but still the family grasped each other tightly. Only after several moments did the doctors haze from the chaos begin to clear. Through the ringing in his ears the doctor began to notice a sound, someone was choking. Panic struck the doctor out of fear that one of his family was injured. He opened his eyes and looked over his family, seeing they were fine he slowly lifted his head to survey the scene. The doctor blinked away the last of the fog only to finally be able to focus on the horror surrounding him. Standing amongst the remains of what was once the soldiers assigned to guard and escort the doctor and his family to safety was the infamous pursuers at last revealed. He first saw the source of the thunderous footsteps, an enormous robot the likes the doctor had never seen. Covered in weapons and very heavily armored, it stood facing the doctor in silence. After the initial shock from the visage of the metallic beast, movement in the doctors peripheral vision caught his attention. He turned his head quickly only to reveal the true depth of horror his current predicament held. There stood MonStar in all his glory, smiling at the person he held aloft by their throat. The person struggling at the end of MonStars metallic arm was LSF agent Derrik Oswald. He gripped the madmans wrist with both hands trying to hold up his body weight in an effort to relieve some of the pressure on his throat. No no my sweet, MonStar said in a slow grim tone, your time has yet to come. You still have one last role to play. Upon hearing someone speaking the rest of the Endo family raised their heads and gave a near collective scream at the scene around them. Sadayuki Endo, MonStar turned his head slowly to regard the doctor and his family, At last we finally meet. You and I have some things to discuss...HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA! Mon'Star the Red - me_b_kevin - 07-30-2008 *Hudson System* *Onboard the Necrosis* Doctor Sadayuki Endo and his family lived the good life, one that only a prominent Kusari scientist could achieve. The money Dr. Endos career brought in afforded many luxuries for his family, two large houses filled with all expensive furniture, art, and other collectibles. The family even had their own spacecraft to ferry them wherever their hearts desired. They could count themselves truly blessed. This all changed though only a short time ago; the doctors lab was destroyed, he and his family was chased across Kusari and Liberty space, only to be captured by their pursuers in a maximum security military base. Now they sat in a dimly lit room, their clothes torn and dirty, faces covered in dried blood and smoke soot. They had been brought onto the ship of their capturer, the Necrosis, home to the vile and despised madman known throughout Sirius as MonStar. After entering the ship they had been escorted by at least a dozen robots and left in the room that they now find themselves locked in. The dim light revealed little of rooms details, only a few small lights flashed in the distance. Sadayuki held his family tight, the two young daughters had been crying throughout the whole ordeal that they now were asleep from exhaustion, and his wife sat in silence while stroking her daughters hair. She gave only short whispers in response to the questions Dr. Endo asked her. He too was still in a bit of shock from the events that had just happened. His mind raced even more than before, so many questions remained about this whole ordeal. Why? How? Nothing seemed to make sense and in some aspects that was the worst part the doctor thought. The silence was broken without warning, the hissing and humming from the opening of the only door into the room brought the whole Endo family fully awake and alert. As the door opened the lights in the room turned on, the blinding glow of the lights was painful to the families eyes, which immediately caused them to shield them from blazing light. Sadayuki tried to see what was going on, he could hear that someone had entered the room. Footsteps, what sounded like something being dragged, and a distinct mumbling sound added to the mystery. Dr Endo could hear his wife and two daughters begin sobbing again and even he could feel a lump building up in his throat as the emotions from the days events resurfaced in full. As his eyes began to adjust to the drastic change in light, he began to see who had entered the room. He saw what could only be the villain MonStar, strapping someone to an upright table. Dr. Endo blinked his eyes trying to force them to focus and focus they did. The man being strapped to the table was Derrik Oswald, the LSF agent assigned to his families protection. Derrik wore a defiant look on his face and tried to shock obscenities through his covered mouth only to have them come out as mumbles. He fought against MonStar as he strapped him down only to have his efforts be in vain. He looked like a child being handled by an adult, any force he put into resisting MonStars grasp was met with overwhelming strength. Derrik Oswald could do little but watch as MonStar tightened straps across his wrists, upper arms, ankles, thighs, torso, and finally his neck. A shrill scream from one of his daughters let the doctor know that his familys eyes were also beginning to adjust to the sudden change in lighting. MonStar turned his head in response to the scream and scanned over his cowering guest. His usual smirk smeared across his face, he spent only a moment glancing over them before turning his attention back to Agent Oswald. They watched as MonStar whispered something into Derriks ear, it was unclear what it was that he said but it couldnt have been good after seeing the reaction it got from Derrik who began to struggle even harder in futility. MonStar giggled and patted him on the cheek before turning away from him to face the Endo family. My dear doctor, MonStar said as if he were speaking to an old comrade, Im sure that magnificent brain of yours has been working overtime trying to figure out what exactly is going on. Please, allow me to put your mind at least and reveal my master plan. Your success with stopping the event in Kyushu was truly amazing, at first I thought it a shame that so many people were spared, but then I have an epiphany. Once I had Psi-Borg calculate the numbers to confirm it I knew I had a winner. Im sure you are aware that, with only a few minor modifications, your device can be turned into a weapon? Dr. Endos eyes widened, yes he did know about this but never would have thought someone would want to actually do it. The potential loss of life would be so catastrophic that it would be madness to even attempt it. Madness that, up till now, he didnt believe existed. MonStars smile widened at the obvious look of realization on the doctors face. Yeeeees, you do know. Im sure you also know the limits that such a weapon would have? Even though the weapon being fired by itself would be enough to kill a great number of people, I plan to make the most of it. Now Ill not reveal everything, in the end there really is no need for you to concern yourself with all the specifics. Lets just say Im about to heat things up in Rheinland HAHAHAHAHAHAAA! Your mind if you think Ill help you. Sadayuki said defiantly through a less than stable voice. MonStar stooped down in front of the doctor and brought his face within inches of his. I thought you might say something along those lines. MonStar said in little more than a whisper, he then stood, turned, and stepped back over to Derrik Oswald. Thats where your old buddy LSF comes in. Hell be playing the part of visual aid in my forth coming demonstration. MonStar turned and walked over to a cabinet on the far wall. He opened the cabinet with a jerk, the door slamming loudly against the wall beside it. He pulled from the cabinet what look like a type of large cutting tool. Ladies and gentleman! Let me introduce you to the newest edition to the MonStar line of cosmetic equipment. Do you ever find yourself removing unwanted tissue only to nick an artery and lose your subject? Well Ive got the answer for just that situation, I give you the Thermal Rotary Saw 6000! MonStar held the tool up in front of the Endo family in a dramatic, fully extended arm motion and held it momentarily in a position that was much too close to the Endo family for comfort. From the short up-close glance Sadayuki got at the thing he could tell it was some form of industrial cutting tool, most likely used it cutting metal. It was about the same dimensions as a medium sized blaster rifle with a pistol grip and large rotary saw blade on the end. MonStar pulled the saw back away from his audience and held it in front of him. He pulled the trigger and the saw sprang to life. The circular saw blade spun at a high velocity and within seconds the blade began to glow red. Dr. Endo could feel the heat from the blade on his face. The Doctor could see where this demonstration was heading and following the example set by his wife and two daughters, he shut his eyes and turned his face away from what he knew was going to happen next. MonStar let go of the trigger and the noise from the saw began to decrease, Now doctor, lets not be rude. MonStars casual almost cheerful tone made the situation all the more worse. Youve not seen the product in action. MonStars tone changed noticeably, You will see it doctor, or Ill remove your eyelids. MonStars voice was icy cold and put forth in a way that conveyed his intent perfectly. Sadayuki Endo opened his eyes and turned his head slowly until he was facing the madman. Tears rolled down his cheeks, which only brought thunderous laughter from MonStar. The saw sprang back to life and Dr. Endo watched through tear soaked eyes as MonStar used the saw to cut Derrik Oswalds arms and legs into several different pieces. Agent Oswald screamed behind his covered mask as the saw cut and cauterized each incision. Waves of nausea came over the doctor as several of the pieces fell to floor, the thuds of the pieces hitting the floor drowned out by the roar of the saw and the maniacal laughter of its operator. The scene eventually became too much and the doctor gave into the nausea and bowed over to empty the contents of his stomach on the floor in front of him. The saw slowly wound down into silence as MonStar walked over to the doctor who remained bent over. MonStar grabbed a handful of the doctors hair and lifted his head so that their eyes met. You will build your machine doctor, His smile was one of pure insanity, Or the visual aid for my next demonstration will be one of your precious family. Yes, the doctors voice was a mix of sobs and rasps, Ill do it. MonStar let go of the doctors hair and stood up. The door to the room opened and several robots entered and immediately began to remove the bits and pieces of Derrik Oswald who, now was nothing more than a torso and head, continued to scream in pain from his covered mouth. Good, MonStar said finally, Ill have the equipment I took from your facility in Kyushu brought to you shortly. MonStar turned and began to walk out, I suggest you not tarry, one never knows when Ill need to demonstrate the 6000 to some potential customers. HAHAHAHAHAHAAAA! his laughter echoed of the walls and followed him down the corridor as he left. The Endo family could only hold each other and weep. Sadayuki had to build the device, he had no other choice. Mon'Star the Red - me_b_kevin - 08-11-2008 *New York System* *Planet Manhattan* *Jackson Medical Center* Rapid footsteps resounded down the broad corridor of the hospitals I.C.U. ward. The footsteps belonged to a tall broad chested man dressed in a fine tailored suit and fancy shoes that clopped loudly with each step in the mans fast paced walk. His name was Nolan Jackson, a high-ranking officer in the Liberty Security Force. Nolan had devoted his life to the LSF and had risen through the ranks over his illustrious career. His current position put him in charge of a number of lower ranking agents of which he was responsible for handing out orders for missions assigned to his group from higher up in the LSF chain of command. One such agent under his command was the reason for Nolans haste and the cause of the troubled look he wore upon his face. Only a short time earlier Nolan had received word that a Liberty Navy Patrol had found an escape pod floating aimlessly near the jump gate leading from the Bering system into the Texas System. When the lone occupants i.d. was scanned it notified LSF command and ordered him to be sent immediately to Manhattan via a medical emergency response ship, where Nolan Jackson was racing to meet the newly landed vessel. Nolan didnt look to see who the agent was, that wasnt important, one of his agents was injured and thats all that mattered to him. He turned the next corner in the corridor just in time to see the door on the opposite end open. A team of medical personnel was pushing a stretcher followed closely by a pair of Navy pilots. The face pace of Nolan and the approaching group brought them together quickly. One of the navy pilots stepped out and held up his hand to stop Nolan, before the pilot could say anything Nolan had his LSF badge out and was holding it up for clarity. The pilot looked at the badge, nodded, and lowered his hand. Are you the pilots that found this person? Nolan asked as he joined the pilots in escorting the stretcher. Yes sir, one pilot said, the pod must have been floating there for quite some time, and its power supply was nearly depleted. The medical team turned into one of the rooms and began setting up monitoring devices and tending the injured persons wounds. The pilots along with Nolan stopped in the corridor outside the room. Were there any hostiles around? Nolan asked briefly looking into the room. No sir, the area was clear. We had just completed a sweep of the area, nothing out of the ordinary. It had been like that all day. There was no debris or signs of a battle? Both pilots shook their heads, No sir. Nolan paused for a moment while he thought over the newly acquired information. He looked into the room once again and seeing the activity inside beginning to slow down he turned back to the pilots. Thank you gentlemen, I have spoken to your superiors and you are to report back to HQ for further debriefing. Aye sir! the pilots said in unison. Nolan didnt watch the pilots leave; he immediately turned and entered the hospital room. He was met shortly inside the door by one of the nurses whom he showed his badge to. The nurse nodded and went to get the doctor who was performing vitals on her patient. Nolan tried to see the face of his agent but couldnt get a good enough view for recognition. Though from the moaning and incoherent rumblings he could tell it was a man. Hello Im Dr. Herly. Hello Dr. Herly Im Agent Supervisor Jackson of the L.S.F., this man is one of mine. How is he doing? Hes not well, but we have managed to stabilize him. What are the extent of his injuries? Nolan said trying in vain again to catch a glimpse of the mans face. He did see that it was heavily bandaged further masking his identity from him. The doctor looked back at the man on the stretcher almost as if she were in disbelief, when she turned back to Nolan Jackson her voice was more of a whisper. His arms and legs have been cut off but the wounds were cauterized as well, preventing him from bleeding out which is typical from such wounds. His eyes have been burned out, the doctor paused, visibly shaken from describing it all, they were burned out from a hot object being placed in the eye sockets. Nolan Jackson was in shock, what the doctor was telling him was the last thing he had expected. Who would have done this? he said in a whisper to himself. The answer to that question is written on his chest. the doctor said having obviously heard Nolan questioning himself. He shot the doctor an incredulous look and immediately walked over to the man lying on the hospital bed. He got there as one of the nurses was dressing the wounds on his chest; half of the writing was covered in fresh bandages. I need to see the writing. Nolan Jackson said in a way that told the people there that his request wasnt negotiable. The nurse looked at Nolan and then to Dr. Herly who nodded her approval. The nurse sighed and slowly removed the bandages. Nolans eyes widened as the message carved in the mans chest was revealed MonStar was here! Looking at the mans face still didnt reveal who he was. Nolan removed a small cylinder device from his pocket and held it to the mans stomach. The device beeped as if it had just received information. Unknown to the rest of the people in the room, Nolan had just scanned an I.D. chip that all LSF had placed under their skin. Nolan lifted the device and read the name on the small screen located along the devices length. Derrik Stanley Oswald. Nolans eyes widened once more, He himself had assigned Derrik to protect Kusaris greatest mind Dr. Endo and his family. The last report he had gotten was that they were under deep cover in a maximum-security base on Houston. A murmuring from Agent Oswald brought Nolan out of thoughts. He leaned forward in an attempt to understand him better. He.Doctor..Burn..Rheinland Derriks words were a mix of mumbles and whimpers but Nolan had heard enough to piece together their intent. Nolan Jackson turned thanked the doctor and left the room, there was little else he could learn from Agent Oswald and he needed to report back to his superiors immediately. The LSF had been helping the KNF in their investigation of Dr. Endos pursuers but neither would have guessed it to be MonStar. He hadnt heard anything from Houston and feared the worst. It was a secluded and secret base, if it were attacked successfully its quite possible no one knew about it. How did MonStar know though? He began to think but shook it off. He had to stay focused, he needed to confirm the condition of Houston first. Deep down inside he knew the answer, Derriks wounds told him that much. Nolan took a deep breath and marched on, he had a lot of work ahead of him. Mon'Star the Red - me_b_kevin - 08-15-2008 *Rheinland Space* *Aboard the Necrosis* Sadayuki Endo, perched high atop a large boxlike structure made from a mix of steel, electronic panels, and conduit, worked diligently. Although he was focused on his latest project his family remained in the back of his mind. He was rebuilding the device he used to stop a gamma ray burst in Kyushu two months earlier. For nearly two weeks he has been working virtually non-stop, with the threats made on his family by his latest employer Mon’Star he couldn’t afford to waste any time. The Kusarian scientist nearly jumped out of his skin when the doors of the workshop slid open without warning. He looked up only long enough to see that it was Mon’Star himself paying him a visit. Dr. Endo avoided making eye contact with the madman as much as possible as it did little else than make him incredibly nervous. “Seems you are making great strides here doctor, bravo!” Mon’Star clapped his hands in applause, “Your family should be proud of their patriarch.” Mon’Star began walking around the device looking around it as if inspecting the quality of the workmanship, occasionally fiddling with a knob or pulling on a wire to check if it were secure. “Psi-Borg tells me you have requested a different power interface coupling than what was provided?” Dr. Endo cleared his throat nervously, “Ye…yes,“ he stuttered, “the one provided will not interface with your ships power array. Mon’Star turned to the doctor and smiled mischievously, “I never said we were going to use the Necrosis to power it. Install the one I provided you and don’t worry your little head with the details my good doctor.” He turned and made his way out of the room. Stopping in the doorway Mon’Star turned back around toward the doctor, “I have a little surprise planned that’s sure to stir the pot.” Mon’Star flashed the doctor a devilish grin before exiting the room. Sadayuki Endo took a deep breath before turning back to the task before him. Typically he liked surprises but the type of surprises that Mon’Star had in mind were sure to be the kind he could live without. Mon'Star the Red - me_b_kevin - 08-21-2008 *Munich System* *Onboard The Rheinland Cruiser; The Gaul* Admiral Krause sipped on a freshly poured cup of coffee as he read over some intelligence reports hed just received on the monitor screen of the desk at which he was sitting. A tall broad chested man, Admiral Krause looked like the typical high-ranking military man and garnered much respect just from his appearance alone. He was traveling as a guest on the Gaul on his way to the planet Stuttgart to over see the unveiling of a new agricultural project that promised to be an invaluable asset to Rheinland as a whole. With such bold statements such as this the Rheinland military thought it was wise to send someone to verify if the boasts were warranted. A beep came from the door of the Admirals quarters signaling that he had a guest. Come. The admirals deep voice matched his imposing physical stature, adding to his unspoken demand of authority. In response to the admirals words the door opened. Ah Captain Schmitt, just the person I was wanting to see. Please do come in. The ships captain entered upon command, walked directly in front of the admirals desk, and saluted. He held the salute firm, looking more like a statue rather than a man. At ease Captain, Admiral Krause said after taking another sip of his coffee. I havent had the chance to thank you for transporting me to Stuttgart. Youve got a fine ship here, and your crew seems to be top notch. Captain Schmitt lowered his salute and put his hands behind his back, Thank you sir. The admiral set his coffee cup down and crossed his fingers in front of him; Ill get straight to business captain, as I know youre a busy man. I have just been reviewing some reports sent to me from high command and it looks like Liberty is up to their old tricks. Our intelligence has confirmed that the Kusari scientist Dr. Sadayuki Endo has recently left Kusari and ended up in the hands of the LSF. The doctor apparently went willingly after several attempts on his life were made throughout his homeland. The admiral sat back in his chair and picked up his coffee cup again. After taking a sip, he continued; Now the official story coming from both Kusari and Liberty is that they have proof that the perpetrator behind the attacks is a terrorist known as MonStar. A few days ago we received a word from none other than the director of the LSF himself; warning that they have reason to believe that this MonStar has kidnapped the doctor and is planning to use him to build a device to attack Rheinland. High command along with myself believes the whole MonStar story to be a farce. MonStar being a construct or scapegoat of the LSF themselves to cover up their black op missions. Permission to speak freely sir? the captain interrupted, a risky action but by the look on his face it was one his felt strong enough about to risk it. Admiral Krause held up his hand as he drained the remainder of his coffee, Permission denied captain, he paused long enough to set his cup back down on the desk. I have read your reports in regards to the subject of this MonStar, the admiral held up his fingers signifying the quoting of the name, further showing his belief that the man was fake, I see no concrete evidence in any of them that this was nothing more than a hoax created by Liberty. The expression on the captains face showed he was holding back his frustration at the admirals comments. Admiral Krause read Captain Schmitts expressing despite his attempts to hide it, During your encounters in these reports did you ever see the ship that caused the destruction you described? No sir. The captain responded in a monotone voice. So all you base your belief on is the name written on the bodies and wrecked ships? Im sorry captain but assumptions like these are unacceptable. Pardon my forwardness sir, the captain dared to speak, but how do we know that it is Liberty? While I didnt see MonStar, I didnt see any liberty vessels either. Mind your place captain, the admiral wore a serious look on his face in response to the captains insubordinate actions, We were unsure of the nature of these events, until we received reports from a fighter patrol in Hamburg which was backed by video evidence of a Liberty cruiser and its fighter escorts making their way deep into Rheinland space. The patrol followed the intruders for a short time before losing them. The admiral turned the look out of the viewing port located on the rear wall of his quarters. These are dire times captain, Liberty must think us weak which they will find is not the case. He spun quickly around to face the captain once more, I am too continue on to Stuttgart as planned, due to the recently intrusion by Liberty high command has put all of Rheinland on high alert. Upon my departure you are being assigned to guard status for the Stuttgart system. It was decided that the presence of the Gaul is better suited there for the time being. These are your orders, understood? The captain perked up, having lost his defiant stance after being presented with the evidence against Liberty, Yes Sir! Very well captain, your dismissed. Captain Schmitt gave another sharp salute before turning and exiting the admirals quarters. Admiral Krause turned and looked out of the viewing port again. Sitting in silence, he offered only an audible sigh as he pondered over the possibilities the effects of these recent events would have. |
