I have spent this day delivering the remaining nomad specimens to the Zoner researchers at Ames. They do not contain what I seek. Their byproducts contained no healing properties.
I spent many hours in discussion with the Ames researchers, who have also studied organisms from many different areas of Sirius, O Chief. Their data indicates that certain organisms seem to have properties which are not normally found in the organisms of the Omicrons. Some specimens they have studied, however, do seem to emit an energy field which can exert a positive force on human tissue, especially diseased tissue. The majority of these specimens have come from their brethren on Freeport 6.
I will now proceed to Rochester, where I will exchange the "inactive" alien artifacts I had previously studied. Once this is done, I will proceed to the Taus. The search for our cure seems to draw me there.
I shall report further in a few days.

Great Chief,
My jouney today was long. It was productive in one regard, but has as yet raised more questions than answers.
The merchants at Freeport Six did indeed have organisms available, as I was told by the researches at Ames. I purchased a large quantity at a high price, However, these merchants know little of science, and were unable to tell me anything of value regarding these organisms; only that for the most part they come from the nearby system of Baffin, a desolate system controlled by a group known as "TAZ".
These organisms are indeed different. They are somewhat larger than usual, with a fully developed digestive system, and the appearance of a small fish. Imagine a creature with the appearance of a Nomad fighter craft, but smaller than a hand's width. They appear to have no or very low intelligence, and exhibit no "group" behavior, except in the presence of "food"; which appears to include virtually anything.. gases, inert minerals, toxic waste, radioactive materials up to nearly a centimeter in size. They are voracious creatures.
I wished to deliver these specimens to Montezuma quickly, to determine their effect on our isolated plague victims there. I set course thru the Baffin system, but did not stop to search for the source of these creatures. I did notice upon entering the system, that the creatures became very animated.. almost agitated; as if something in this system attracted their attention. I will return to Baffin with a few of the creatures soon to study this phenomenon further.
The remainder of the trip thru Coronado and Cortez was uneventful, save for a few Bowex escorts who considered my vessel hostile. I found it necessary to dispatch them. Once at Montezuma, I distributed most of the organisms to the stricken, and took a period of rest. I will observe our people for the next several days to see if these new organisms have any beneficial effects. I shall report further then.

I have purged the Texas system today. SA presence was detected, I successfully thwarted one Battlecruiser and one Cruiser. Long story short, we engaged near the planet Houston. The enemy lasted for quite some time, as it was a 2 vs 1 battle. The Battlecruiser was led in battle by an SA Vice Admiral, Greg. He wisely chose to lure me into a trap, I was chasing his ship while it was exploding at the contact with the atmosphere, while him and the rest of the crew managed to land in safety.

Revered Chief,
I wish to report great progress this day.
Our plague victims in isolation on Montezuma improve! They are not cured, but many of their symptoms have been relieved by the new organisms they have been exposed to.
Not all of the organisms obtained from Freeport 6 were "active" though. They are all of the same "fish-like" variety; but some seem to emit more of the vital healing energies than others. There must be something different in the creatures' diets, or perhaps where they reside within the Baffin system.
I shall return to Baffin once more to investigate more closely; but, if I find nothing to solve this mystery, then I will have to somehow contact and question these mysterious Zoners, the "TAZ", who lay claim to the system.
I do not look forward to it. I have heard disturbing tales about this Sect. Strange rituals, nudity, drug use.. it makes me shudder to think of it. I will do my duty to my People if required. I hope I survive the ordeal.

My shaman, I have received word from Montezuma that the Junker Tohi Adedi has brought us organisms known as "Scrubbies." I do not know the details regarding these specimens. Tohi informed us they were gifted to us by the TAZ known as Malaclypse. What we know of these specimens is that they can be used to help cure our people. We do not know the properties these "Scrubbies" hold. Tohi says they are not the cure in themselves, but are a means to aide the curative energies work their magic.
After you have had a chance to observe these specimens, contact Malaclypse of the TAZ. I understand he holds the key to our cure.

Upon hearing this news, I rushed to Montezuma to observe the effects of these new specimens. They are indeed imbued with some positive energies. The effects on our afflicted brothers and sisters was almost immediate. Their symptoms were relieved. These "Scrubbies" have confirmed my own earlier observations of the "active" specimens procured from Freeport 6.
However, the comments of this TAZ Malaclypse also comfirm my suspicions. The organisms of themselves will not cure our people. The virus is still present in them, although not as active as before. There is still a missing element to this mystery; but now it seems I am being led to discover it.
I will attempt to contact this Malaclypse immediately, O Chief. If he will only reveal this "final" secret to me as your Shaman and Healer, then I must risk all to win it for our people. If it will wipe this plague from our midst, then it is truly the most worthy of gifts.
I need no more observations. I will set out for the Baffin system immediately.
