That is the truest statement anybody has made in this thread period ever of all time. ' Wrote:Since when is wealth equal to quality of RP? Since our RP became making money. While that is, indeed, the current reasoning, the bolded phrase is the understatement of the year. Discovery Economy Reformation - AJBeast - 03-28-2010 I'm going to have to agree with the majority of the people in this thread. One of the reasons I am keeping away from Discovery is that the game is just so darn slow. I have 5 different projects I'd love to get rolling but I simply wont because I can't be arsed to waste a week powertrading to have cash for them all... As we have proven, over and over again, monetary limitations will not stop people from spamming caps. Nothing not completely enforced by the game mechanics will. So just fix the economy and make your average Joe Schmoe who indeed has a life be able to play again. Pretty please? Discovery Economy Reformation - Recoil9000 - 03-28-2010 I've never had a problem with 20-40m/h runs. If I did a single loop of my current trading run every other time that I play, I would have more than enough credits to support most of my chars. Not to mention that I trade with 3800 cargo space. Mining on the other hand should be boosted to at least match, if not be better than trading. Currently, using a joint miner/trader effort, my friend and I can make around 8m each per run. Don't ask me how long each run takes though. Also, increasing the yield of mining would be nice. Ideally, one should be able to mine enough ore to fill up a freelancing trader (max 3800 cargo) in the time that it takes the trader to deliver the ore to the destination and return for more. Trading is bad, mining is worse. Yes, I understand the economy was nerfed to keep Tweedle-LOL and Tweedle-LOLER from getting cap ships. Doesn't seem to have stopped them. In fact, I would say it encouraged them to become pirates...And end up with caps anyways. If someone has more time to waste on playing a game, it is likely they will get better at it than you, and "achieve" more. Congratulations on being better in real life. It's statistically impossible to live a life not stting in front of a computer and play Freelancer 24/7 at the same time. No matter how you change the economy, those that use it more will get more profit from it. If we were to increase trade route profit twice, or quadruple it, is it with the assumption that pirates will adjust their mugging rates accordingly? Just curious if it will still be an improvement after that's accounted for. Congratulations on being better in real life. It's statistically impossible to live a life not stting in front of a computer and play Freelancer 24/7 at the same time. Good deflection. The point is, people want to play the game more, the actual game, as opposed to grinding. <strike>Oh, and I already suggested a solution to that problem. (However, that would mean reading the thread.)</strike> Edit: You have my apologies. Wrong thread. All of them seem to merge into one in my head, especially considering they are all about the same thing. That needs to be brought back, or I need a higher magnification on my glasses to see them in the current rules. There we go, and again, apologies. Discovery Economy Reformation - Akura - 03-28-2010 I gotta agree, there is a point where the economy makes sense, where people will still take time to trade, still have to work for lolcaps... But I think this is too far, Xoria has screwed the pooch a little bit and gone beyond what needed to be done. Now, to buy a cruiser, I have to take up trading as a full time job. I'm here to have fun, not spam F2F2F2F2F2F2F2F2F2F3 Pirates are becoming lolwuts too, it's hard to pay 2mil when you're making 8mil from a 30min trade run >.> I like what Dusty did though, he stormed in on his Mining Mod horse and went: "F*** you Xoria, I want people to make money!" |
