One process, and it LAAAGS like hell, and fps do tend to drop to 1...
go to task manager -> process -> kill all the Freelancer.exe processes that are probably running simultaneously on the background, after that right click on the one left (while FL still up and running) -> set affinity -> check all the boxes

do a computer wise search for Freelancer.ini it should come with 2 results: One located in ...\Freelancer\EXE and the other in ...\Discover 4.86.0\EXE

Seemed to have worked, but only in the actual "space" part. While I'm in the base, the FPS is low. But you know what, I'm satisfied for now:PAs long as the actual game is fine.

Uh, use the built-in windows searching function and when you do that make sure you search while having the option "all files and folders" selected.
EDIT: try to search just for Freelancer perhaps. It might get a lot of results but is bound to find the discovery folder within it.
