' Wrote:Can we talk about the Roberts' Space Industries project in the topic specifically for it please. This thread is about the video in the original post.
Since both topic title are misleading, what do you expect?

Rename this to Freelancer 2 - Continuum and the other to Robert's Space Industries.

Dream on, it'll never happen, if it does, it'll be a mobile app as that's the direction games are going in.

I'd rather not ick up the new game project that Roberts is working on with Discovery's filth.

About the original post, it being by Continuum means that it'll more than likely go nowhere as they've had really poor leadership in the past among other issues, such as being a team mostly filled with writers (the same problem that killed Broken Bonds)

As Joe specified, Continuum has been shifted towards SWAT Dev Team. Most likely the real "core" work will start in 2013 since they need to finalize Crossfire 2.0. After that, effective immediately work on Continuum will resume.

The project is based on unity since it's a great engine to work with. Improvements have been made significantly in the past years.
There are more then 70+ models present on Continuum each giving a diverse feeling that are ready to be implemented, I can tell you from the source of them (me).

People opinion may vary when it comes to SWAT but they are able to offer quality modding. Continuum will be something new to them as well. All of us, Continuum team (mostly me) and the SWAT Devs are very enthusiastic with this new project, mostly being a SWAT project as I said in the first line.

It looks very good so far. Can't wait to see the (somewhat) finished product.

Its great to hear this news. If any one is working for new freelancer, Congratulations to them and I think it won't be a failure project ever. Lot of players are waiting for it. If this thing is real, it needs some more publicity, it may be done via discovery online server. All the freelancer lovers must know about this.

Chris Robert's isn't working on a Freelancer 2 but is working on a new MMO space sim called Star Citizen.

It is meant to go into alpha by November this year, and will utilize CryEngine 3.

Thats known by most people around here. I'd still prefer to play Continuum.
