Trust me, you'd know if you fought it. I suggest you actually try to, its a challenging but fun fight. Just uh....bring potions, food, buff yourself before the fight and stay at range if at all possible. My 200+ dmg Daedric Sword just tickled him, and then he proceeded to pummel my face into the wall. Oh, fyi, you have to fight him in a freakin bowl!

I'm going to have to try him again. He's supposed to be as tough, if not more so, than the Ebony Warrior. I had a follower with me both times, and the Ebony Warrior DID manage to kill my level 81 character more than once. Karstaag - yeah, not so much. Obviously, bring a follower - and also having two Dremora Lords conjured nearly all the time - meant that Karstaag sort of died REALLY quickly.

Oh, and to do the link thing - hit new reply, so that the whole menu shows up for making a post. Then highlight the word(s) you want to put into a link, hit the 'link' button on the small menu, and enter the URL there. It'll automatically insert the link on the highlighted words.

Well to be honest the Ebony Warrior was kinda easy once I'd nailed his attack stratergy. I'm maxed out on Archery and my companion is an Archer too so as long as I kept the Dremora Lords comeing he never even hit us. But he did annialate me several times when I tried to fight him in mele, pretty much regardless of what I did. He seemed to 1 hit kill me at random, despite my 800 HP, so I wouldn't recomend mele combat.

What took you so long? On one of my previous characters (not the one I'm currently playing), I named her bow M256A1 Rheinmetall - just because it was a one shot, one kill kind of thing. Was it a bunny I was aiming at? One shot, one kill. Draugur Deathlord? One shot, one kill. Legendary dragon? One shot, one kill.

Heh, I built my dude toward being a fast-swinging chainsaw rather than a one-hit killing machine. I had to run at him first and took a couple practice swings before a dual-wielding power attack instagibbed him.

Every Bethseda game, I tend to make my characters stealth-based as they lend themselves to both Thieves' Guild and Dark Brotherhood quests, and usually by the end of both questlines I have Magical Swords of Mountain Cleaving and Leather Armor of Why-Is-This-Tougher-Than-Plate and Rings and Necklaces of Unconsensual Touching so every warrior-related quest I can just run forward and hack to my heart's content.

I'm trying to level up a pure caster with nothing but staffs and robes. It's a whole new playstyle and challenging as hell.

Ye, the Bethesda games tend to get boring once you've found the loopholes.

Try T3nd0s Skyrim Redone mod:

And bump difficulty up to legendary, and you will find out just how awesome Skyrim can really be.

Yeah, but you had to figure out his strategy first, didn't you? Which in my case took about 5 or 6 tries.

Also remember one minor detail - his armor does 50% reflect damage. So if you hit him with an attack that caused him 1,000 damage, YOU were taking 500 of those points. And since he has 2,071 HP ...

There is a good mod which brings back the old classes and birthsigns from Oblivion.

Should be a great addon for those who want to play real RP as Agmen described already.
