RE: The problem with the Junkets Congresses 'Saltese' base in Humboldt... - monmarfori - 03-01-2013 Now Saltese blew me up while trying to pirate a transport and a miner with Silver ore on a Rogue Bomber, why this base kill pirates and save traders? That is kind of the whole point of the base you know, apparently a large part of the reason behind it's construction is to stem the piracy there. It was out of control before, also Congress makes a nice profit off it no doubt to. And tell me, what would Congress gain from you pirating there? Most likely nothing, but they do profit off the miners and transports there. Maybe they help defend DSE from piracy, and what's exotic is that it acts like a storage station for DSE. I see it red to Rogues however, maybe they currently dont like our piratical actions against Humboldt miners and transports there. However the DSE who are allowed docking access must follow strict rules.(03-01-2013, 02:45 PM)monmarfori Wrote: Now Saltese blew me up while trying to pirate a transport and a miner with Silver ore on a Rogue Bomber, why this base kill pirates and save traders? RE: The problem with the Junkets Congresses 'Saltese' base in Humboldt... - djordje_petrovic - 03-07-2013 I think that reasonable and possible counter strategy is buliding pirate base at kansas hunboldt jh. And make a full scale blockade like goldern coin. That will prevent all tranport to dream to pass to magelan and they should take detour through puerto rico which is much longer way. + some snub guard to harras all who come from magelan system to humboldt... Junker base will lose its economic interests , as no one will come there. And in second phase start hunting their barges with bombers. dual Nova torpedoes with 2 snubs and barge goes boom.... their barge and jumping ships has to be tracked and disrupted. IF you can not defeat them , you still can cut a purpose of this base. And there is still diplomacy to bargain terms which are acceptable RE: The problem with the Junkets Congresses 'Saltese' base in Humboldt... - Nutline - 03-08-2013 I'm pretty sure that the most important thing can be solved by admins, building installations inside asteroids deposits are simply OORP as well as installations in front of jump holes. The admins could use a little fixing, enforcing server rules (banning, taxing for offences) isn't enough! Someone put our video from humboldt when it's clearly seen that HF battleship is staying right next to Junker battleship, in ROLEPLAY what you need to do first ? Kill some bombers or take out the most major threat ? Please don't tell me they didn't seen each other staying at 1 K distance ! I've filled a report about this -> nothing happend! We couldn't kill manticore cause a DSE repair ship shows up and refilled him, but that's not on video (hdd low on free space), how's that sound ? A liberty lawful faction with headquarters in liberty helping the enemy of the liberty (Hellfire legion) .... whatever! The point is that we all have our private (real) lifes, a stocked level4 base is basically invulnerable unless you siege it for more than 3-4 days in row without stopping. I'm in disco for more than 2 - 3 years or so ... and I see that ROLEPLAY is very very affected day after day! I'm sure that nobody will listen me, my opinion is worthless ... and I'm sure that most of you'll start throwing arrows at me after this post. I really miss the 4.85 ... story-line driven by events ... stunning Outcast vs Corsair raids (got killed in 4.86 after deleting some jump-holes and implementing server lag), dublin's population, liberty vs rheinland raids and so on. But let's hope that 4.87 (maybe released within the next 2-3 years) will be better, until then ... try to RP whatever is still playable. Cheers ! RE: The problem with the Junkets Congresses 'Saltese' base in Humboldt... - SMGSterlin - 03-08-2013 1. The roll of the admins is to enforce server rules and keep things fair, nothing more. They aren't the devs, they don't balance the mod (to an extent they do, with writing ID's, but that falls under "keeping things fair"), they aren't the RP police, who dictate how you can and can not RP. 2. Hellfire Legion doesn't attack the corporations, they only attack the navy. In actuality, the Hellfire Legion SUPPORT the corporations, so it makes sense for a DSE employee to support the Hellfire Legion. They aren't so much the "enemy of Liberty", as they are a revolutionist group who wishes to make Liberty better than it is. They want to replace the government and Navy, not completely destroy Liberty, they actually wish the opposite. I see no problem. Server cannot support 20 caps in field. (edit: afaik, it should be able to in 87, thanks to AD's work on ship models(or was it another developer?) Well supplied core4 base is indestructible due to technical limitations on server's side. It can only die due to lack of supplies. It's the other way around - the existence of Jumpholes with their huge traffic that is not monitored by House authorities - that's what totally ooRP. Edit: but required for gameplay I mean, c'mon, even a rookie Intelligence/Security service won't have much trouble finding those. |
