Quote:TAZ and OSI only tend to their own roleplay (as they should) but this leaves a vaccuum.
Correct! Remember the CoZ? The original ZA? Twice it was tried to give all Zoners a voice and it flopped both times. Zoners are largely indies with a few small factionalized groups.
The CoF is sort of effective but still the odd Zoner doesn't get a voice but he chose being on his own.

Now, the ships. LEAVE THEM BE!!! So we have pewtards who buy a nephilim as a weapon of war. Let the admins handle them.
I prefer a good dose of common sense. With the nephilim as an example, it would make sense for a large, colony, exploratory ship, to be well armed for defensive purposes to protect it's people and research labs and such. Why punish this logic with watering down?

Or better yet, let's take all the caps out of the game. It would be fun to see how well house navies fight without them, to see some of these players who must have them relegated to fighters and bombers. Oh wait..no caps so we don't need bombers!
How fun would it be to see how well the Corsairs or Outcasts do in seiges without their cap fleets.

In short, where will the watering down end?

The Doc has spoken... Let us please reflect on his wise words and reconsider our decisions.

I enjoy Discovery because of it's dynamic vessels and the sense of achievement when you can finally afford a capital ship with a CAU8... Please don't take that away devs.... Please

Jinx has decided. Jinx rules all zoners from beyond the grave, yo.

...
Just that the still existing Outcast and Corsair factions, as well as a fair load of the Outcast independent groups, already perform their duty solely on snubs.
So we're talking independent players then, not organized within an unofficial group.

//Edit: Just for the record, I am still not against the Zoner capital class vessels up to cruiser size. Just the amount of Nephilims and Aquilons is ridicilous and should be, my personal opinion, in some way regulated.

RE: Information about upcoming Zoner changes - Coin - 03-01-2014

true dat - i think the benitez had maybe two caps all told, and bought from selling bunter npcs at the fes.

RE: Information about upcoming Zoner changes - Divine - 03-01-2014

On that regard I've to state something about said independent ships. Still, those people claim the official faction would either restrict their RP or restrict them in using the ships they'd like to fly. And then it's the same people complaining that the official factions are not enough around, are not doing enough for them/with them, are not active enough, are not considering their thoughts/opinions.

Here's a freaking hint,... stop being an independent over your beloved ship and actually make yourself useful by being a part of one of the official factions, for whatever npc-group that is.

Yes yes I know, we have discussed this at length in the past. It doesn't change the fact that I think we need some kind of official entity to represent the npc faction's interests, even if it's not in the form of your typical official faction.
(Although I take issue with the assumption that this 'CoZ' concept cannot work. It seems to work fine for the Junkers.)

This. There is no issue here that cannot be resolved by the admins or ingame rp. I also don't see why it shouldn't be used and roleplayed as a battleship, to defend Freeports and whatnot, as time and again their safety is threatened inrp.

This is what I've been saying. If our lore allows for pirate/paramilitary groups to field ships of the largest size, I don't see why the Zoners can't too, given the wealth the Zoners must possess by helping to make the former possible.

I have received a PM from Jinx on this subject. I have enough respect for Jinx to not post what was said... But Jinx does not want this any more than you or I do.

Now, because this whole thing is turning from infuriating to depressing...

yes, coin, - personalize the problem - give it a scapegoat - thankfully no one else can ever be the cause of the changes, cause everyone else has been such an model member of the community, upholding the lore and laws of each faction to the letter - untarnished, ever fighting for the best of it all.

there are reasons for it, they have been pointed out many times - but selective perception can be a female dog. mind you - ignorance is bliss.

if blame and insults is all you can do - do not expect any forthcoming - your behaviour is detrimental for whomever you speak for.

RE: Information about upcoming Zoner changes - MrWeeks - 03-01-2014

I pose the question: Since when did Zoner caps become a SERIOUS problem? Like... More serious than the lolwutting Ranseurs and Sarissas in New York? Why does this deserve IMMEDIATE attention? Is fixing Gallic trade not an issue? Or are the changes to hamfist the would be Zoner cap pilots to be Gallic cap pilots? (Which I have done upon hearing that the Neph will become a transport that is incapable of passing through asteroid fields.)

RE: Information about upcoming Zoner changes - Lonely_Ghost - 03-01-2014

I completely agree with Doc.
Zoner capital ships makes a lot of sence, people, who fly them in mindless way does not.
Make it SRP indeed. If someone would like to have such ship, prove it with your RP and comfirm it with your actions, that you are worth to use it in-game.

Things like: "Oh no! Zoners has no ppl, has no resources and completely incapable of building such ships." does realy looks ridiculous. Why we even comparing imaginary things in ~ 301X year to our real world, in 2014 year?
