Moving a Core 3 and Core 4 base to a system where opposing factions would have little chance to contest them, and absolutely no chance to contest them in their infancy isn't fair to them. That is why I voted against the move. I apologize for intruding but Jax makes a valid argument, I have been playing here for 8 years and was around when the POB system was initiated. It was always a rule of thumb that moving a base core 3 and above was a "No Go" due to the fact that an opposing faction would have little to no chance challenging the POB of which they would have had a chance when it was first established. Allowing this would set a precedent that you can make a POB in a safe system where you can control its growth then move it to a less friendly one. Again, I apologize for my intrusion but the Admins made the right call here. Yeah Yeah RE: Admin Feedback Thread - Groshyr - 06-22-2022 You are free to build a new base and create even more roleplay during its development than you could do with already established Core 3 or 4. RE: Admin Feedback Thread - LuckyOne - 06-22-2022 I am not privy to all the details but do we really need to leave a couple of Core 3s rot in Galileo where nobody is playing anymore? This could understandably set a dangerous precedent but I think the admins could maybe handled this better. E.g turn them into Core 1s or 2s "during the move" so they could be contested if desired. Or point the owners to make an event they could "lose" and therefore add opportunity for the opposition to block the move. A straight up denial is just a lame excuse for the laziness and lack of creativity on the part of the Admins / GMs. A very common symptom in this community, despite having "roleplay" in the name. So now I have 2 bases that are going to rot in Galileo because they are not in the right place for our ropleplay or faction. So am I going to get some sort of compensation from the Admins for those bases then, that are no use to me. Since this is a public thread, could you tell the community where exactly in Dublin you wanted the POBs to be placed, what IFF they will have, and if you plan to build weapon platforms? Whether they are close to an NPC base of same of similar IFF and will have no WPs matters on the kind of impact your pobs will have. For example, a BMM pob without WPs right next to a BMM npc base will have no real negative consequences on anyone, while a Freelancer pob armed to the teeth 15k from a mining spot has the potential to be quite annoying to pirates and/or miners. Admins didn't force you to build them when you made your Zoner faction. Admins don't force you to move or remove them. You can always try to sell them, someone might come and buy. Or, if this bothers you so much, you can ask for these stations to be removed. I did this multiple times to my POBs when I lost interest in maintaining and RPing them one by one, its nothing to cry about - just your time which you spent with pleasure if you had endurance and endeavour to reach Core 4. Stop being Karen, Renegade. RE: Admin Feedback Thread - Czechmate - 06-22-2022 (06-22-2022, 06:23 PM)Karlotta Wrote:There is a big ass issue with PoBs and Weapons platforms. New London is a massive hindrance to gameplay, the plugin has been ready for a year to have Wps shoot only when sieged - I know one Staff member wants to tinker with platforms as they need a buff if they will just shoot when good damage is done to the base.(06-22-2022, 04:26 PM)Tyrone Harrison Wrote: I dont see any problem with putting three bases close to each other, its not as if its near Manhatten where there are alot of bases and also near Planet New London which is also quite a crowded area. Until it is implemented I would much like admins be extremely wary of stacking PoBs - there is no in-game mechanic stopping WP buildup and flipping unlawfuls hostile + blocking off an area. The PoB in Dublin doesn't shoot Mollys at least - but this just needs to be a priority, it's been so long since it's been ready to be resolved. RE: Admin Feedback Thread - Karst - 06-22-2022 Can't speak for the rest of the staff, but for me personally the sheer distance alone would have made this a categorical no regardless of reasoning and rp. If you want a POB in Dublin, you build a POB in Dublin. You don't build or buy one halfway across Sirius and then demand that it be moved. RE: Admin Feedback Thread - Redline.Inc - 06-22-2022 So, building three bases in the same location wouldn't be an issue? |
