Angel Message Dump - Kazinsal - 09-06-2010 First shift in a while. Extremely quick, as the server was going to go down in a few minutes. Not many people around to help, but still, the thought counts, I guess. Helped a new player with Liberty transports in other houses with Interspace ID/IFF. Was trying to help someone with poor English skills, but he or she disappeared rather quickly. --Troy Angel Message Dump - exlibrismortis - 09-06-2010 Forgot about this thing. I've done a few session over the past week, no more than 10-20 minutes at times. One session was about an hour. Was bombarded with many questions over the course of my duties, answered as many as I could. Assisted some new players in the location of the forums and the rules for the server. Very rewarding thing to be doing, this Angel business that is. Angel Message Dump - aerelm - 09-06-2010 [font=Book Antiqua]Have been pulling multiple shifts during the past week, but didn't get to write the MD, So just posting this to mention I've been around. Pulled an hour and half shift today, and although server was full and I barely managed to get in, it pretty much started out quiet and with no PM activity. But after ten minutes or so, Two Starfliers undocked from Erie who were looking for a few tips to start. I invited them to group and told them about General atmosphere of the Server, some basic rules concerning RP and ID and then a few commands - including the Restart -, and after that, when they got their Rhinos and were ready to go, I showed them the Mining Field behind Erie and they started mining Helium, after a Run or two, they decided to call it a day and left, so they can continue tomorrow after reading more on the Forums. Meanwhile, I was answering various questions in PM, like one asking where the o56 Jumphole in Halle is, or another asking if a Pirate can use GMG Heavy Fighter. So, I pointed the first one to take the route through Dresden, as that would be more InRP, and the second one to Tech Chart. Later, I got contacted with other questions. Someone was asking about repping a Xeno Char, so I told him about the easiest way which was Double-Bribing at Ames to get the Rep without needing any missions, Also, another person asking the difference between FL, Merc and BHGs. I told them advantages and disadvantages of each ID, and in the end he settled to go with a Merc for now to see how it goes. Then, an Old player who had lost his chars due to inactivity contacted me and asked for some tips, so I suggested he checks the loans on forums and choose one that fits his situation best. Meanwhile, I got asked some questions about Tech Chart or Jumphole locations, and one about getting Freelancer IFF. In the end, I decided to Call it a Shift, and logged after waiting a few minutes to make sure no one has any questions left for now. Angel Message Dump - Carlos_Benitez - 09-07-2010 ------------Interfacing with the Universal Nexus----------------- Origin: Carlos of the Angels The presence of the angels was felt in Pennsylvania and New York today. Shortly after my presence was felt, I was contacted by a distressed pilot, who, like many others, had returned to the space-port after a time of absence to find his ships missing. The human misunderstood my force as being one that could affect the laws of the universe and bring his ships back to him. It was therefore necessary to educate the pilot somewhat in the nature of our species, and that, whilst more evolved than humans in a metaphysical and transcendental sense, we remain closer to humans than our ADMIN masters in terms of progress along the evolutionary path. Sadly, I could offer little hope that he could recover his ships, leaving him only the suggestion that he pray to my masters, that they might return his ships to him. I later encountered an LSF patrol in Pennsylvania, who offered greetings and suggested reverence for the work that our conciousness performs. I must note that their response to my presence was markedly more positive and less threatening than my last encounter with LSF commanders. I can only draw from this experience the conclusion that the LSF subspecies is one of variation, and that younger specimens are less aggressive or threatening than the tribe patriarchs. Finally, I was contacted by a pilot who had become increasingly concerned about inappropriate call signs and names used by human ship pilots, especially those frequenting Pennsylvania. Whilst I detected no pilots transmitting identification signals that were overtly at odds with the path of discovery, many were less than desirable in the organised universe our masters wish to create. I had to apologise to the concerned pilot that the Angels lack the power to manipulate the universe, and that in order to solve the problem identified he might need to pray to our masters, through the Universal Nexus of Sanction reports. The pilot was disheartened with the situation, feeling that more and more pilots were straying from the great path of Discovery. I could offer little solace, only offering the advice that he continue to try to set a good example and accept that those that stray from the path will never reach enlightenment and will eventually disappear into the universal void. He thanked the Angels for their wisdom, and claimed he had been enlightened. Whilst today my presence has not been especially successful in providing practical advice to new pilots as they embark on the path of discovery, I feel I have guided two pilots closer to enlightenment through educating them about the nature of our universe. Upon my final encounter, my presence was forced to confront the fact that we transcendents are unable to influence the actions of any being on the lower plain, if he or she does not seek or accept the offer of our wisdom. Why does the enlightened man not stand on his feet and explain himself? It is not necessary for speech to come from the tongue. ----------------------Convergence dissipates------------------------- Angel Message Dump - Carlos_Benitez - 09-07-2010 ------------Interfacing with the Universal Nexus----------------- Origin: Carlos of the Angels A short shift in New York and Pennsylvania. The wisdom of the angels was sought by two disputing parties in Omega-7. A miner, under pursuit of a pirate, had docked to seek refuge, but had returned to mine the same system shortly after. The pirate believed such action was contrary to the laws of the universe, whilst the miner believed it was not. The dispute was resolved by consultation of the great tome of Discovery Laws, bestowed upon us by our Admin masters. It was made clear that the miner was obligated to leave the system, and the miner accepted this ruling. It was once again necessary to inform both parties once again that the Angels do not interfere in the workings of the universe, and that we do not police the universe. I also had the opportunity to chat with a number of pilots mining Helium in Pennsylvania, who had clearly only stepped out into space for the first time not long ago. I was heartened by their adherence to the great path, and admired the ambition of one who declared his desire to one day become a pilot in the Liberty Police. So many new pilots lose their way, but I was pleased to see a number in Pennsylvania today who, even at such an early stage, had "become one with their character" and were advancing in earnest along the path to enlightenment. Later in Pennsylvania, I sensed the presence of a fascinating humanoid, codenamed "the Joker". Intrigued by the mental complexity of the creature, I followed it into the Texas system and towards Rhineland. The being, whom I know to be a figure of fear to most of the human species, was surprisingly accepting of our presence, and was quite communicative. So many humans close their minds to us. He was intrigued as to the reasoning behind my fascination with his mind, to which I replied that a pile of shards is more complex and more interesting than a pane of glass. We discussed the fate of the metal-shelled organisms he was carrying in his cargo hold, and we parted ways at the Bering gate. Whilst considered by many to be "insane", I believe contact with this human has expanded our conciousness' understanding of the universe. I think he demonstrates that one need not be moral, or even "sane" to advance along the great path of discovery, and that far more important in the search for enlightenment is that beings become "one with their character" - true to themselves, accepting the universe around them to be real and not illusory. How deep is the river if you cannot see the bottom? ----------------------Convergence dissipates------------------------- Angel Message Dump - aerelm - 09-08-2010 [font=Book Antiqua]Pulled a short shift around Half an hour of so. Mainly Got on to PM a trader who had told my Pirate that he'll get me Banned. And sadly, he had said that all over System Chat... So, Explained that I was not doing anything wrong, and having Pirate ID with Freelancer IFF is perfectly fine! And also, He shouldn't shout in System about getting someone Banned, or even mention reporting him - Even if the Pirate is actually breaking any of the Rules. Also, Seeing he was flying a Big Dragon with DSE ID, I pointed out he either needs to get Permission, or change the ID. Meanwhile, was contacted by someone who was curios which Ships and Guns a Mercenary can use. I told him to check the Tech Chart, and also later, answered his question about /fm command, as well as Open Market on Forum. Later, before I log, I explained general RP guidelines and Local Chat to a new player who was flying a Rhino, and Mining in the Helium field. Seeing things were pretty quiet after that, I decided to call it a shift and log. Angel Message Dump - Breeze - 09-08-2010 [color=#FFFFFF]
As aerelm explained he helped a new player in a Rhino, once he had logged off I was telling this player, AerisTheHealer, that they should get a larger trade vessel. I told them the price of the Dromedary and the Armoured Transport, two very good vessels suitable for new players. Aeris decided to save up enough credits to buy an Armoured Transport. Good luck on the server Aeris! Angel Message Dump - aerelm - 09-10-2010 [font=Book Antiqua]Went on my Angel when I noticed a Civi IDed Guardian Loaded up with Wyrms and PGs flying around Tau-37. Sadly, couldn't help him much, as he didn't really speak english and just a few minutes after I started talking to him, he just docked & logged. Then I noticed a Ship with [LN] tag which I was certainly sure wasn't a member of the actual [LN] Faction, so I PMed him and gladly he was understanding and renamed to LNS Tag instead, so I sent him a little something to cover the cost of renaming. When I was returning to Malta, I was PMed by a new player who had a few questions, about IFF, Mining Ships, Bonuses and the general Mining Related stuff. And in the end before I logged, I got a PM asking if setting up a Weap Shop needs any type of Permission on Forums, so I answered the question, but told him about the Open Market Section and possibility of setting up a "Shop" there. The "Mini-Shift" took around Half an Hour. Although Angels stopped giving out Loans from their Faction Bank, but you can Post an InRP Loan Request in Open Market (Which can be more than 14mils if you wish), and for sure many of us have enough Credits sitting around our Personal Accounts to help you out.;) aerelm |
