Steeling her emotions, she enters the room, closing the door softly behind her, and walks to the middle of the room, and stands at a parade rest stance, eyes fixed five centimeters over his head, her blond hair tied in a simple ponytail so it would stay out of her blue eyes, and her clothing simple, a pilot's jumpsuit, obviously well maintained despite the age of the suit.

"Reporting as ordered, sir."

He notice that the secretary calls him over.

He hasn't been informed about filling out an application of his background.

"Errm... Right..." looks at the Secretary. He then grabs the paperwork from the table, without saying 'Thank you'. He sats down and reads what is needed to fill.

He jots down....

Ben was...Not expecting this. He knew her from when he was one of the LRF's specialists, Haruhi, steeling himself he nodded to her.

"At ease." he stated calmly, staring her in the eyes without any compassion, no feelings of welcome, just the cold calculating logic that she would have known of while he was still in the Liberty Revolutionary Front.

"It has been quite some time." he stated calmly, reaching into one of the drawers and pulling out a thick file, Haruhi could see her name in small lettering on the folder, opening it up he read aloud.

"Haruhi Sinai, Kusari-Libertonian, approximately Twenty-Two Sol years of age, formerly a miner before joining the Liberty Revolutionary Front, Psych profile indicates a state of mental conditioning, likely due to traumatic experiences or advanced training..." he read, muttering to himself every now and than before looking up at her from the file.

"Quite the file you have here Sinai...But it doesn't explain everything...So-" He comments, sliding the file to the side and folding his hands once more on the table, leaning over slightly.

"Tell me, why should we take in a Second-Rate terrorist whose loyalties are questionable at this time?" he asks, first tactic, push them on the defensive with questions about loyalty and suggesting lack of skill, see how they defend themselves and justify it.

Expected.

Expected.

Kostya mentally kicked himself. Was he expected? He should have been; strings had been pulled so that hed be included on that supply ships manifest after his work shift was over. Surely he was expected.

He frowned.

Then again they could just assume I wont be accepted. Better yet shot and over with.

Better correct it while I still can...

But some other applicant who strolled in the door, looking very proud of himself, was blocking the way to the desk.

Kostya tried to calm himself as best he could.

Cant fail. Not now. Too close..

Haruhi simply nods, and takes a breath.

"If i am branded a terrorist for my will and actions to defend the people, then so be it. As for loyalty, well, this is true. However, it is by actions that we define our loyalty. I fight for the people, it is the very reason i am here, it is the very reason i risk death itself, for their sake."

She takes a breath and continues.

"I cannot stand by and watch corruption lord over the people, the governments treating them as pawns. Perhaps i am second rate, you could be correct. However, even should i be second rate, each blow struck for the people is never wasted, and i will continue to fight for the people, even if you deny me, even if my skills will not carry me all the way, i will still do my duty to the people."

Pekkala shriveled slightly inside. This was going exactly as last time. "I know what we face. The corruption and cruelty of the Alliance descendants, driving some people to the top, and most into despair. Elitism, propaganda, and outright lying bring beaurocratic officials to the top, concerned with only satisfying their own selfish agendas. They don't care who they trample to get where they want."

"These same people also hold monopoly on the military, who are just as corrupted as their political leaders. They attack their own people because of their leaders inability to govern. Rheinland, in particular, was unforgiving. They associated my family with your great movement immediately, attacking us and driving us into asteroid homes in the Omegas. The Hessians were the only thing standing between us and the void. They helped us get here."

Ben merely nodded slightly, so far so good, still he needed to see and hear more...So he would push some more, sliding his right hand into the drawer of his desk and concealing the pistol behind his back he stood up, both hands behind his back as if clasping them.

"So...Your willing to fight for the people...But i wonder..." he muses before pulling out the TT-33 and aiming it right between her eyes, coldly gazing at her, unflinching.

"Would you fight...And die for the people?" he questioned, circling around the desk, pistol still trained on her as he manuvered beside her, the end of the gun barely touching her temple.

"Are you willing to give all that you are to improve the lives of the oppressed, the hungry, the weak?" he questioned almost angrily, he would get to the core of the matter...The cocking of the gun could be heard as a round chambered itself.

Coalition Recruitment Thread - Shryke - 06-02-2010

The Griffin's cruise drive was operating at full capacity. A blinding blast of white irradiated from the back of the ship, illuminated the ship against the blackness of space. It hurtled towards the Trotsky, carrying its lone passenger. He had heard of the Coalition mainly from Red Hessian contacts. Heard good things, also frightening things. However, options were becoming short in number by this point.

He reached over to his console as he neared the Trotsky, flipping a switch that disabled his cruise drive. The drive continued operating. He flipped the switch several more times. Still no change in speed. He yanked back on the stick, feeling his body pulverized into the seat, narrowly missing the cruiser's massive shielding. His fist slammed onto his console and the drive finally cut out.

"Coalition cruiser Trotstky, this is Ethan Scott, requesting docking permission."

He cursed under his breath at his ship. If it didn't kill him it did an amazing job of embarassing him.

The autopilot kicked in as the ship guided itself into the Trotsky's hangar bay. Looking rather ramshackle compared to the others inside, it only reinforced his self-conciousness. He was always taught to make a good first impression. It carried him well so far, or so he kept telling himself.

Once the ship settled itself he prompty evacuated himself from the ship. No need to linger around the rustbucked, he thought to himself. His dark brown hair was a jumbled mess and unkempt from being compacted for hours by the cumbersome helmet. A two day stubble adorned his face, except for the spot on his chin where scar tissue formed. A memento from a knife fight on Leeds. The one his left cheek running up to the brow was acquired on Barrier Gate. He's not welcome there anymore.

After proceeding through various corridors he spotted an attractive young woman sitting behind a desk. If this was the view, this gig might not be so bad after all, he thought. He ran his fingers through his hair in a desperate attempt to make himself look pleasant. Not much he could without a shower and a shave, however. He approached the table in a confident stride, hoping to convince her that he was as serious as he was, never mind the appearance.

"Hello there. I'm here to inquire about recruitment," he spoke in a clear manner.

He was going to try and charm her, but that seemed like a bad idea. Last thing he needed was to be tazed a woman, again. He also had a sudden urge to light up a cigarette, but also decided that was a bad idea. All he could do was wait for the pretty woman's response.

She just nods, not looking at him but keeping her gaze straight ahead.

"If i was unwilling to fight and die for the people, i would never have taken up arms for their cause. Even if my fate would be to die tommorow fighting for them, i would still man my ship and fight for them. Each is important to the whole, for if one cannot sacrifice for the people, then they are cowards."

Takes a breath, as a bead of sweat runs down from her temple, hoping her fight would not end here.

"It is through fighting for the people that i protect them and do what i can for them. So yes, i am willing to give my life for the people. If my life can save even one other, then i have no regrets should i perish in duty."

Her lips pursed slightly, regarding the answer. "You were asked a question the last time you were here. Commissar Gonzalez told me about it. Do you now have a clear answer?"
