I think this is the real issue. One that deserves to have the fullest attention of the staff team. People go by whats in game as per

2.6 - Every character must have only one type of ID equipped and must play according to the role and restrictions of that ID. Additional restrictions may be highlighted in red on ship, commodity, and equipment infocards. If ID restrictions and allowances conflict with the server rules, the ID overrides the rules (except 2.8 and 3.4).

While this only states ID, people WILL look at their faction info card and go by that as well. Lets update crucial information like this so we dont end up with a mess like the one we are in.

Which is the problem that goes to the Dev team, story in particular.

Considering that =CR=, the main official Crayter faction, rather overtly denounced the Aland Crisis, and has consistently worked to repair relations, I'm really not sure why you keep implying that CR is out to get the IMG.

I feel like this requires my five cents. We both know, Spectre, that this "denounciation" was but a convenient declaration of what was sanctioned by Crayter officials a battlegroup going haywire. I'm not questioning now why couldn't Crayter keep their military in check and frankly, I'm not going to stir another dramatic episode over a bunch of destroyed pixels.

But that particular episode was convenient pinning of blame on Olympia, Xander, and whoever else took part in it. It's still my PoV and I doubt it's going to change.

Concerned factions are welcome to submit their proposed infocard changes to us, with relevant RP links and even canon matters (if it was left severely outdated), so we can consider whether some changes make sense or not. We simply need to know what will each faction will get from it and if it is even valuable or useful to them.

No one can expect from us, story devs, to browse through all those numerous infocards and keep them updated. Not because we do not want to, but because we have too many things to handle and keep track of already - not mentioning that we also like to play the game or we have other hobbies.

Just don't bother with Discord alliances, please.

RE: Admin Feedback Thread - SnakThree - 02-15-2023

Time to add allies to IDs to prevent this grey area. Or create a thread where diplomacy is written and can be updated via player request if sufficient roleplay and reasons are provided.

So you want people to do all the work you then take either months to provide any sort of feedback on or ignore
altogether (my experience with Dev request forms).

Until you open the Dev process up to the community and put in processes beyond the present buddy and random messaging system I'd be shocked if anyone would be willing to put in the effort. You are working hard but not smart, that's why the in-game canon is an outdated mess.

Note the date on this (a year ago) since then there was no system put in place to start working on that with the help of the community. You don't even have to go far in how to do this, just look at your predecessors who made the ID simplification rework happen with inputs from the whole community and how they did it with the engagement of the said community.

RE: Admin Feedback Thread - Saronsen - 02-15-2023

when did we start getting pissy about "allies" being shot when they brought about a good RP reason to shoot them?

i must have missed that memo, because i must have done that a few hundred times over my lifetime on discovery.

and i mean a lot of shooting allies, especially shooting lib lawfuls as LSF

RE: Admin Feedback Thread - Loki1982 - 03-13-2023

concerning the "good" RP reason part...

Isnt that POV even more debatable?

"Me not like you, foreigner!"
"say what you want - it will not save you"
BANG!

That is all it takes basicly...and all within the given rules...
but is that really "good" enough I ask?

Even A bad story still is roleplaying...I guess...

But what is so crazy about at least counting in the player´s ingame reputation besides making it all just about the mounted ID?

Yes you CAN get friendly with the military as a pirate technically, but that would definitely go along with playing much AGAINST your role!

By farming the wrong rep just "to get there" you only prove your misunderstanding and misuse of the system anyway and admins could easily punish players for that kind of rp-failing behaviour.

Just take all rep-modifiers from nomads and it could work a lot more like it was intended in vanilla!!!

Since I haven't seen mod feedback thread, I will leave it here.

Apparently this reply to this post was against forum rules.

Either Disco staff is more sensitive than ever. Or this is just straight out censorship and prohibition to criticize even the subjective thing a developer writes.

What a joke the staff is.

Doesn't surprise me considering they take the freedom to enforce rules that do not exist as well and some of them are full of sh*t more often than not. I had this taking dust in the shelf for a while, and I ended forgetting to post it in some feedback, you reminded me of getting it done.
