After hearing her last comment, a faint smile over-run his face, as if he'd want to chuckle. Still, he refrained and answered diligently.
"Luckily for both of us, there's been no NFZ breach."

He took a moment to analyze her subtly. Could this young lady be a scientist? - and a renown one on top of it?

"The name's Sentry." he stated, while extending his hand for a proper greeting.
"The TAZ told us that you are... well versed in the medical field, thus in chemical research. I've come to discuss a project the Crayter Republic is currently working on where your skills may be of use - and properly rewarded, of course."

Sentry..?

"From the TAZ you say.. While you're right that I work in the medical field, I am unsure on how the TAZ gave you anything to point my way. I've been steering clear of the TAZ. While I work with the Zoners yes, the Confederation of Freeports is the only real zone that I actually talk with. Aside from the events going on here of course.

Right now, i'm not really obligated to leave my lazy lifestyle to help out with a project of yours unless you give me more information. What's in it that makes it interesting for me. You'll find that I don't really care for very many rewards, credits being a big one. I've only just met afterall. I don't think i've had any experience with the Republic itself."

RE: Freeport 10's "Sylvania Dome" - Johnathan Nox Carter - 08-14-2015

"True, this is sudden, considering you've never had any contact with the Republic before.

As for how the TAZ know of you, I couldn't tell. Maybe your work was remarkable enough for them to notice it, even if you didn't deal with them directly.

Then again - since you seem eager to know more details, I suppose i can tell you as much as i'm able to.
I'm sure you are aware that the Republic has begun the colonisation of Yuma; it's been almost a year since it started. What isn't really easy to find out - due to lack of interest on the news' departments part, i guess - is that the planet itself is not as easy to inhabit as one would think. The entire continent, as well as the various islands covering the surface, is covered in a ... shall i say 'peculiar' type of vegetation. This flora has so far shown extreme resilience and a gargantuan speed in reproduction, thus making it quite impossible for the Republic to remove any of the plant-life for longer than about 2 days. I'm afraid i can't offer any details on the plants though, since it's not my field.

Still, so far - we've settled on the planet using a different approach; and now we want to engage the flora issue again.
The Minister of Science felt it would be best if the Crayterian research teams worked in cooperation with outside scientists. Thus, we've already ensured help from the Cryer corporation; but given your renown status, we hoped you could give a hand as well.

The main purpose of the project is to devise a toxin that would either eliminate the plant-life or at least halt its invasive spreading without any side-effects to humans or the planet's eco-system.

As for what you could get out of this, that's more or less up to you, but it remains to be discussed properly."

Tara lets out a quiet breath. Shaking her head quickly.
"I'm not very interested. From what I understand, you're trying to re-invent the wheel. Trying to develop something which already exists. Herbicides have existed for thousands and thousands of years. If you're looking for something against a large-scale plantlife which can grow back very quickly, all you need to do is move on to the stronger stuff. Pretty sure Planetform Inc. developed control of plantlife years ago. Afterall, planet transforming into an ideal image is what they specialize in, isn't it?

It'd be too easy anyways. It's no challenge. It's old tech. I only do what I find interesting. Working with the chemistry of herbicides in order to mirror something which a group out there 'probably' has already developed is simple. It'd only take a few weeks at most. The ability to differentiate between humans and animals, from plants isn't the most difficult ordeal either. Humans have an immune system afterall. Nothing like plant life has. A wall.

Herbicides can be divided into two simple classes. One in which is more 'eco-friendly' that removes specific pieces out. Or the type which kills everything in the area. The difference? The latter kind doesn't fail. Against anything. It simpily kills off the plants by killing off the cells inside of it. It's not targeted either. It kills 'everything' - It's borderline biologic warfare, although the effects on humans is minimal.

That's not interesting, Sentry. I'm sorry. Go read around on the Neural Net for 'forming products."

Sentry nods, then replies...
"Fair enough, i understand your point of view.

It's too bad though. You may not know much about us, but we've been in the business of terraforming and settling planets for at least as long as Planetform - considering we did conquer the Crayter sector once. The green stuff that grows on Yuma? That's no ordinary target for herbicides. That's why we can't really go with what's already there. We need something new.

But hey, I'm not versed in these things - so maybe you're right.

It was a pleasure talking with you. Have a lovely day."

He slowly turned, then phrased a few last words in a lower tone... "If you do change your mind though, you'll know where to find us."
He then touched his comm. unit twice and left the area quietly.
