Thank you all for your continuing effort to push the Resistance!

Many things in short:
- I will continue adding the list. (Ask you neighbor to contribute too).
- I would like to rename the thread because some people think it's to pessimistic. Sharing some of this concerns I would like you to help me out here! -What is the mission of the Resistance? "WHO is helping to create Disco 2.0" or "WHO is helping to push Disco into a bright future"? Vote here: http://poll.pollcode.com/55827815
- It is still a good idea to organize things a bit more professional (then posting). A tool for us is required. I would just beg you to be a little bit patient about that. Everything at it's own sweet time.
- First we have to find out what we want: A "new" Disco (with the current devs/admins) or something new. I think we should give the devs and admins some (huge) credit for their work so far and I don't think we can do it better. But we can do it better with them! We "just" have to convince them. But that will take time and patience. So first things first:
1. Who are we and what do we want. 2. What can we do (the list on top is a start for that). 3. What is our lore and idea? 4. Can we convince the devs to team up (for the greater good). 5. How do we beat Star Citizen*.

1 - study FL's and discovery's evolution again, THOROUGHLY and establish what worked, what was needed and what turned out bad.

2 - Lurk more

3 - I vote for a clean slate. Start a bit after the Sp campaign's conclusion, but imediately add simplifications and facilities that would help make the transition smooth - particularly the nomad/order areas from the late campaign.

4 - It's more about convincing them to ditch a good portion of the current effort and focus on essentially a new mod.

5 - we don't Discovery was, remains and will continue to be a niche for people who can't afford a rig that would run top-end games.

1. Who are we and what do we want.
I love good stories and I want to help make a good one.

2. What can we do (the list on top is a start for that).
-New lore, less restricted by the lack of player of diferent factions.
-Change the engine?
The guys of Frelancer 2 are the prove of this is posible. But I'm not programer, don't know how much work it would take and if we bite more than we can all could end in nothing.

3. What is our lore and idea?
Use the current lore as start point to develop posible future and chose one in basis on it's posibilities and in the feadback from the players of each faction and if posible with the creators of them. It would be a mistake to create a Disco 2.0 without the participation of everyone.

4. Can we convince the devs to team up (for the greater good).
Before anything to the Devs: There is no words to descrive what you have done creating Disco. Fantastic? Amazing? All seems too small.

What we have to do is start thinking in a long term project. Eventualy a drastic move will be needed and we can help with that. Maybe not this year maybe not the next, but it will be one day.

5. How do we beat Star Citizen*.

Diversity and the posibility to write each one future. Basicaly been Disco.

53 posts so far and still not an inch close to make actual sense. Sorry folks, but that's the truth.

As is the fact those fancy polls and votes are actually meaningless. They are not an actual participation in my view. Coding, modeling, designing and generally contributing tangible material is.

Hey, drop the attitude.

Disco was made in 53 post on a random forum from the internet? Amazing.

We are not even talking to each other yet, we are just see how many are interested. So calm down, be patience and let's see if in a few months there is still nothing.

PD: Sorry for the sarcasm.

Well to be honest, Treewyrm has a point, you need people capable of doing mod work. But this is the best way to make a mod, plan your move first before adding stuff that seem a good idea but are bad for the mod on the long run. One aspect of Disco that was butchered and made into a joke is the lore. If you had someone to temper the madness of the factions and develop a story compatible with vanilla maybe Disco would have been in a better state now. I don't want to give examples because the discution would derail but i will say again. Discovery lore is a convulted mess, it makes no sense.

I would love to help but i have very strong views about some freelancer aspects so i don't think i could work with a team. The right way or no way.
